Drekar Meadery — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

I'm sure this place has a nice quality mead and as someone who really enjoys mead I was looking forward to trying a local meadery. Unfortunately, my first experience with this established was so distasteful I will not be returning and will not recommend to others. Service is half the experience and the person who claimed to be the owner was extremely rude. I attempted to enter with my 2 month old and all I heard was "no one under 21" coming from the gentleman behind the bar before I had even crossed the threshold. Now I understand house rules, which was also the only other thing said to me before I entered, but the fact that he offered nothing else was rude. I thanked the man for his time and wished him a good day but before leaving my sister-in-law decided to buy a bottle for later. She asked about the house rule in which he responded "I didn't decide to have the baby". Very insensitive to parents just trying to unwind. Also seeing how the tasting room was empty and there was 6 of us plus one small child I'm a car seat I feel like that was a bad business choice for the owner. Not only has his rude and insensitive attitude lost our service completely but I will not recommend this place to my friend or the people I know who have made the choice to...

First of all I’d like to say the negative reviews originally deterred me from going here. THAT IS UNTIL I realized it was mainly about the “no kids” rule. People, it’s plastered EVERYWHERE. It’s a private business, they can do as they please, y’all. Secondly, if you need to be serviced, maybe.. just maybe… say something?

Anyway, I absolutely loved this place. They have board games and tables large enough to do this with friends! The music is top tier. The product is so good I brought a bottle home to Texas and will be shipping on the regular.

This is for adults looking to just chill at the bar area alone, have a drink over some games with friends, or even couples who plan to chat over some wine. There were two tops against the wall and immediately thought of a date night.

I will be visiting every time I come into Co Springs. This is perfect. Especially since I don’t have to worry about any unhinged gremlins and their inattentive parents.

Youre going to fall in love.... Unless youre expecting a "Viking themed" BAR. Or think a place to have drinks is a good place to take your kids. Its a small meadery that is making a good product. All three varieties they have right now are stellar. Considering their success, I would count on seeing them expand sooner than not and also to see larger breweries making their own traditional meads. This is a good start for something new here. Check it out. Have a drink. Be open minded. This place is really good and I look forward to their future in Colorado Springs. Only downside is that theyre selling at a faster rate than they expected according to what the owner said to me one night, and they arent selling to go bottles until their new batch comes out in March. Get some while you can....
