The service is just terrible. I would be more understanding if this place is more affordably priced.
We entered and saw three staffs there. They were talking amongst themselves for a bit as we waited awkwardly. But not too bad. Maybe 30seconds. Then one of them asked how many party. I said three and showed three fingers. The staff said two and I had to correct her. A bit annoying but not a deal breaker. But then they left us keep standing there for several minutes as they talking amongst themselves. This was 11:10am with four other tables occupied. The three of them were chit-chatting away while we stood there waiting.
Then once seated, the waiter never came for us. We had to give our order to a random staff passing by after 5minutes of waiting and looking around to find our waiter. And of course, not even water served during the time as we were looking the menu, making our choices, and trying to grab a waiter.
Lastly, once it was time to pay the bill, the waitress dropped by credit card on the floor (who does that?).
Food is ok. I was raised in Hong Kong, so maybe I’m just a dimsum snub. But their shrimp dumpling was overcooked and the peel was falling apart. Xiaolongbao was either under seasoned or had old pork. It had gamey pork scent.
I was really looking forward to having a local dimsum place, but very disappointed. Miss the classic dimsum...
Read moreColorado Springs location. We arrived at 5:11 and ordered our food and drinks right away. The waiter came by several times to chat and act "cute". We noticed everyone else had their menu on the side of their table, but we did not. At 5:50, the waiter came by and told us the kitchen erased our menu (while everyone else's menus were on the edge of their tables). We asked if they could rush our food because it had already been such a long time and people who arrived after us started getting parts of their meal. We explained we came in already hungry and were now on a time cruch of one hour to get to a bakery that closed at 7pm in order to pickup our daughter's birthday cake. He said he "could try" lifting his leg into the air and again acting "cute". We filled out the menu a second time only to have him walk away and not take it with him (right after we just said we are hungry and on a time crunch). Magically, a second set of drinks arrived yet we had not requested them and ours were still full. The menu remained on the table waiting for his return to see it for another 5 minutes, so we left. We waited so long for nothing. Our waiter, mind you - with a hickie on his neck, was too busy trying to be "cute" instead of providing truly good service. We were so excited to try this place but instead left hungry and disappointed....
Read moreCame because it was highly recommended, but due to safety reasons, I will never return. Ordered several dishes including the beef noodle soup, fried dumpling roulette, both the chicken and truffle soup dumplings, chili crisp wontons, and chicken feet.
Let me start with the good, the chili crisp wontons were pretty good. Chicken feet had good flavor. Some of the fried dumplings were also good.
The bad. There was either a staple or wire bristle from a brush in the food. I cut the inside of my mouth before I fished it out. I immediately addressed it with Antonio. The rest of the meal progressed uncomfortably and cautiously. I probably should’ve stopped right there, settled up and left. However, I wanted to be respectful of the effort that the kitchen staff put into the meal.
Either way, I will not be returning. The fact that a sharp piece of metal made it into the food is patently unacceptable from a food safety standpoint. People have gone to the ER for this exact issue. This is indicative of either lax kitchen prep procedures, or shoddy QC. Very very dangerous. While I appreciate that the staff comped the entree and offered a 10% discount off the meal, I got the impression that they didn’t take such a potentially dangerous situation seriously. I hope that the establishment takes note to never repeat...
