Overseas 101 is absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in Colorado Springs! Despite its humble location in the strip mall beside Target on North Academy and Union, Overseas 101 offers dishes with amazing flavor, generous portions, and affordable prices.
My personal favorite is the vegetable lo mein- perfectly flavored soft noodles sautéed with fresh, crisp broccoli, bok choy, snow peas, carrots, zucchini, and green onions- I could eat it every day! Another favorite are the sesame chicken and sesame tofu, with a sweet and flavorful sesame sauce that makes it hard to stop eating when you’re full... “just one more bite! Then I will stop!” (as I continue to shovel food into my mouth).
My husband’s favorite is the Kung Pao Delight, with tender strips of beef and chicken in a rich sauce with peanuts, vegetables, and just the right amount of heat from of Sichuan pepper and Chinese chili peppers.
Our 3-year-old daughter loves the Bao Bao Platter appetizer (same thing as a “Pu Pu Platter,” which is actually the Hawaiian name for this dish- “Bao Bao” is the Mandarin name for this dish).
We have not tried any of the shellfish or pork dishes, as we’re Jewish and keep kosher. But we have tried almost everything else on the menu and have never been disappointed! Wonderful food, affordable prices, and big portions, plus a wonderful staff, make Overseas 101 the best place for Chinese food in...
Read moreThe first time I went was fine & dandy the food is eh but good enough to where i wanted it a second time. The second time i went I payed with my debit card and on their end it said it didn't go through. I checked my bank account and the charge for my food was in my authorized transactions so it indeed WENT THROUGH. They told me i was lying and that my bank statement was PHOTOSHOPPED. Showed me a meal ticket with a price of 53 DOLLARS on it and said that was my ticket. I ordered two sweet and sours with fried rice theres NO way i would have the 53 dollar ticket when the ticket on my food bag said 21.11!! they tried to make me pay TWICE once for food i actually payed for and AGAIN for a 53 dollar ticket i didnt ORDER. 24 hours LATER and the $21.11 is FULLY taken out of my account and payed to this resturant. Absolutley appauled that they told me i photoshopped my WELLS FARGO bank statements. You got caught trying to double charge me so i took the food I PAYED FOR and left. 24 hours later and the money is STILL out of my account. You guys are trash. NEVER AGAIN will i order from such disloyal people. BUYER BEWARE. I WILL DEFINITLY BE CONTACTING the better business bureu. Absolutely disgusting.
EDIT** WONT FORGET HOW YOU SENT AN 11 YEAR OLD BOY AFTER ME. HORRIBLE PARENTS TOO
EDIT ** 72 HOURS LATER AND ITS STILL OUT OF MY...
Read moreI only give 5 stars for gourmet food, so don't take this 4 star as a ding. I read a lot of reviews of this place, and there was the usual mix of either "love it" or "hate it," but not many specifics. The service was excellent: friendly, fast, and accommodating of special requests. They will make any item on the menu custom to your specifications. The shrimp and the scallops were plentiful and cooked to perfection: tender and juicy. Most restaurant seafood is so overcooked. The sauces were flavorful, but not bold. Heat level for spiciness was spot on to my request (medium). Vegetables in soup were neither over or undercooked. Vegetables in stir-fries were neither over or undercooked. They gave me complimentary egg rolls and crab wonton. **Do believe the negative reviews that the fried rice is not fried rice. Just don't order anything that requires real fried rice to make you happy; steamed rice and noodles were both fine. Don't avoid this place just because of the "fried" rice issue; you'll be...
