Yesterday afternoon, Sunday, 5/5/24, I witnessed a manager of this restaurant abuse a customer. What happened was probably the most blatant example of occupational misconduct that I’ve ever seen.
Seemingly, there was a hiccup of some kind with their system not being able to scan a digital coupon of a customer who recounted that the issue had sometimes occurred in the past but that it had been easily resolved on every occasion. The customer was well-mannered and congenial. She tried to explain how her order was normally transacted, but the new manager, whose name is Maddie (perhaps a fitting characterization), refused to listen and was unwilling to be of assistance in any way.
What a mess. Like a power-hungry, egotistical, know-it-all, this pseudo manager disparaged the other staff members for not doing things her way and blustered on about how they all needed better training. She was out of order and defiant. It was clear to me, and very likely clear to others, that it was she who needed training.
She even made accusations against the customer that were speculative and unconfirmed. She had no interest in resolving this relatively minor issue and acted much more like a bully than a professional. She berated the customer in front of everyone, treated her like an unwelcome stranger, and then made her leave. Unbelievable. When did behaving this way become acceptable in business? Disgraceful, obnoxious, and inexcusable. Wild, crazy, and antagonistic, she was. I can only imagine how humiliating this experience was for the customer.
It’s true that about the only thing more galling than when a person does not take their job seriously enough is when a person takes their job too seriously. I do not adjust myself to companies that choose to hire and promote such people.
You know, I’ve always wondered why certain fast-food workers get food pushed in their faces. Now I understand.
As a matter of course, I’ll be sharing this experience with everyone I know and with whomever will listen.
Anyway, I purchased my meal and left, but threw it away. I did not appreciate the experience at all. What I beheld was so appalling that I was sick to my stomach and could not eat with a clear conscience.
Regarding this restaurant, my opinion has changed because of this incident. A company is only as good as its people. I will not be going back there and, for that matter, to any Panda Express – bringing my long-standing patronage to an end. As should be expected, this is what happens when you enable the wrong kinds of people to represent your company.
I respect the community. And I am not a slave to my appetite. As well, I am rightly troubled by the possibility that I or anyone dear to me would ever be treated like this. No sir and no ma’am. If this company will not do better to hire respectable, well-adjusted, customer-friendly people, they do not deserve and will not enjoy my...
Read moreThe relaunch of the Beyond Orange Chicken took place today. Regrettably, only three locations in Colorado Springs are currently offering the product. These locations are approximately 35 to 40 minutes away from my residence. Despite the distance, I was willing to make the drive due to my enthusiasm for the relaunch.
The overall quality of the food was satisfactory. I ordered a dish consisting of chow mein and beyond orange chicken. The chow mein was slightly greasy, but I consumed it nonetheless.
The service I received was unsatisfactory. Server Jackeline O (also known as Jackie) needs to receive additional training in customer service. I am unsure if she was experiencing a difficult day. She was handling the registers while another Hispanic woman took orders. Upon entering the establishment, I noticed that I was the only customer in line and that the restaurant was not busy. I was not greeted or made to feel welcome. I observed that the employees were conversing in Spanish, so I assumed they did not understand me. Therefore, I proceeded to speak in Spanish to ensure that if there was a language barrier, I could communicate my order in Spanish. While Jackie was checking me out, I inquired about a military discount, but she did not respond. She appeared irritated by my question and had to go back to add the discount. Naturally, I expressed my gratitude, but she disregarded me completely. Furthermore, I informed her that I did not require a receipt, and she instructed me to dispose of it myself (which was not a significant issue). When she handed me my order, she simply gave me the bag without uttering a single word.
I am profoundly disappointed with the level of customer service at this location. I have visited other locations and have never encountered such a negative experience. It is understandable why their review rating is only 3. This will be my final visit to this...
Read moreI never leave reviews and I hate complaining but when something really bad happens I like to be able to caution future customers. I ordered food online through the panda express site around maybe 6:50, and it was set to be delivered at 7:40PM. I repeatedly checked and tracked my order in hungry anticipation. At 7:40 I noticed my driver from door dash was sitting in the same location for quite a long time. I figured the food would be a little late but no big deal. At 7:56 I checked the tracker again and noticed the order now said cancelled. Then I proceeded to check my bank account and verified the funds were deducted for the order. I reached out to the store location first, who said i would need to call door dash. I then proceeded to speak with door dash who then indicated I would need to speak with panda express. As you can imagine this is a huge inconvenience as I've now paid for food that I have never received and was not made aware for at least an hour, forcing me to find an alternative solution to dinner for my family at such a late time. Not to mention no one seems to be willing to help me. I was finally able to call the customer service line who refunded my money two days later. It just seemed insane to me that the two parties involved ie door dash and the location store were both quick to pass off the concern of their consumers with no apologies or care. If you need to order delivery from panda I don't recommend the website because if there is an issue apparently no one will be able...
