Sheldon's Luncheonette — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

One of the cleanest dining I've been to in ages. Very personable people was very impressed! Definitely going back!😁😁 I am forced to edit my review! I haven't been able to dine out for awhile,...since then they have changed their menu. I have tried so hard to view their menu, I do not participate in social media to include fb. So I called asked if there was a way to view the menu I was directed to the pictures which do not at any point show the whole menu many cut offs and incomplete descriptions because of said pics. So I will not be ordering any more. If it takes social media to participate in a business I'm not interested and therefore can't view their menu. Seriously disappointed I bragged and showed this spot to many people but wanted to read the menu. Sad everything is social this and that. So because I'm not a participant I don't get to see your offerings. Yet the mount view does so what really gives...

I just picked up an order. I ordered chicken fried chicken, scrambled eggs with American cheese, crispy hash browns, and sour dough toast. I have eaten at Sheldon's on 8th St. many times over the years. I have never had a bad meal, until today. There was no potatoes in the hash browns. It was just these little brown, crunchy, greasy sticks. The "toast" was soggy bread slathered in more "butter" (grease). The rest of my order was average at best. Also, while I was waiting on my order I noticed the sign listing their pies. I was always under the impression that Sheldon's made their pies. So I ordered a slice of my favorite. Lemon meringue. It came out as a sliver of pie. And it was a frozen store bought pie at that. When I mentioned to the cashier about how small the portion was her response was snide. Above average food above average pricing

Went there with a few friends this was all our first time. We ordered different things to try. Roast beef (open faced with mashed potatoes), Chicken fried chicken and a patty melt. Most times you see places that have this type of food having rough "take it or leave it" service and dated if not dirty infrastructure. Not here, everything was clean and the service was spot on.

The food itself was good, not great. I had about 1/3 of everything to get a good feel. Nothing stood out to me, the roast beef was pilled on somewhat messy on the plate and there was no salad or vegetables (corn/beans etc). The other two dishes were close to the same, tasting good but nothing that would super motivate me for coming back.

My experience here wasn't bad at all and I am glad I tried them out. But there wasn't anything motivating me...
