Good food and I’m happy they serve until 2am. I enjoy their themed nights and friendly bartenders. I agree that the place was generally better with new mgmt but I feel that may be slipping. Last night there were dogs on the countertop, barking, and being fed treats by hand by a non-employee woman who also was serving customers their food.
In short, I believe this establishment is legally exposing themselves to both labor and health department violations by virtue of negligence, willful or not, from the owner.
Long version: Had a weird experience last night where a customer was working as a server. I entered the bar and a lady, drinking a beer, stood up to come take my order. She kindly asked “what do you want?” and when I asked which types of beer were available she was unable to help me. I assume this is simply because she is not an employee. I then told her I would just order at the bar myself and she happily returned to her own barstool to continue her drink.
I waited for a seat to open at the bar, then sat at the bar. I ended up sitting next to the non-employee woman, who I now realized is also openly vaping nicotine indoors. Thankfully, I heard the bartender (a charismatic and welcoming professional woman) quietly request that this woman move to the end of the bar, near the kitchen, so that customers could sit down. The woman followed the request, only to return back to her “reserved” barstool after maybe 10 minutes.
I observed this woman for a bit. I thought she was the owner because it seemed that both bartenders were somewhat fearful or otherwise forced to not question this woman. She would attempts to joke, yelling at the bartenders to “get back to work!” I noticed that she was the only person laughing. And she was the only “employee” drinking.
At another moment, I heard a dog loudly barking. I turn to see it appears to be a non-service animal with no identifying vest or patches that has all 4 paws on the bar countertop. I see this same woman barehanded and feeding the boisterous dog. She is standing behind the bar to do this and she is openly drinking beer from a glass. She was coming and going from behind the bar, in/out of the kitchen etc constantly. This woman was additionally serving food with the same bare hands. I never once observed her wash her hands or wear gloves.
I was very confused about all of this, so I asked the bartender if the woman was the owner of the establishment. The bartender explained to me that this woman was the “girlfriend of one of the cooks.” I then asked if she was an employee or getting paid at all, to which the bartender replied “no.”
When I had first asked the bartender if this woman was the owner , he displayed a stark change in demeanor which was outwardly nice and with a smile, yet seemed insincere. This is because I have been served by this bartender several times and I recognize that this is not how he normally speaks. This makes me think that the bartenders are somehow at the mercy of this woman, and makes me wonder why she has so much power over them.
Overall this makes me question the integrity of this establishment, and generally makes the place feel unregulated, unmanaged, and...
Read moreWow- we were looking forward to trying this new place around the corner from home and were met with disappointment.
1). The establishment indicates it is open until 11- an hour later than Red Robin, five guys, Smash burger, etc- and we thought it would be perfect to end a long day of packing with a burger. Pulled up at 10:05 and was told they are on “late night” menu... only fried food. My guess- someone has started cleaning the grill.
The menu didn’t dictate when it started or what items were on it. The hostess was rude and disengaged. We witnessed three people walk in and then walk out after no one came to seat them— to be fair no one greeted us either- we just sat ourselves.
We ordered beer and wings.
The dry rub was horribly clumped on some and nonexistent on others- rendering Half of the wings I ordered so spicy, salty and unappetizing that I didn’t even try anymore. The bbq sauce on my partner’s wings helped but both batches were so dry that we were desperate for some of their watered down ranch- (flavor was good consistency not)
The fries were luke warm and soggy
Our server checked back to see if we wanted another round but didn’t ask about food once. Another server checked on us and when I mentioned the rub was killing me with the distribution (said with a smile) she suggested I rub them together bc that happens. Mentioned the flavor on both being good (albeit overpowering on mine) but that the meat was dry and was asked “oh, well did you order them extra crispy?” No ma’am I did not. “Oh”
She walked past our server and didn’t at all share our statements. We waited as our server disappeared, the hostess stood flirting with he cook, and the other server on duty stood on the patio smoking a cigarette and half ass brushing off of a customer who kept trying to also get her to have a drink.. just to get a check— we just wanted to leave!
I went in starving after a VERY long day just wanting a burger—
I got dry over/underseasoned chicken that I only ate 3 wings of. If someone leaves more than half of their food and obviously not suffering from an eating disorder- maybe at least ask how it was.
Overall I won’t be back- if you are advertising yourself as a burger restaurant with great beer- I expect I can walk in and have one. The servers weren’t concerned about truly ensuring good quality of experience. It isn’t a restaurant, it is acting like a cheap bar, dressed up in grown up “restaurant and brew” clothing and trying to fit in. Save yourself the trip-
I don’t see...
Read moreI do not think I will ever go back. Was there almost a week ago for a friends birthday. I was driving so I only wanted one drink. I ordered my drink and told the bartender that I wanted to pay for the drink and did not want at tab. She took forever and I could see she was having trouble with the register., I asked if anything was wrong. I knew I did not have much in my account but surely enough to cover a $5 drink...well #1 she charged me $6 and since I didn't notice I still tipped her and #2 she neglected to tell me she ran my card for $50 to open a tab and since she couldn't close it she charged the drink as a $6 tip...so now I had $56 on my card and no money for gas to get home...let alone food if I were to want it. When I had looked at my account on my phone is how I noticed. She wasn't even going to tell me about it. I tell her and she says "it will come off in 5 days" ...no it needs to come off now!!! So I get the manager... he promises me I will see it reversed in 5 to 10 minutes...well 30 min later it still shows. So he offers me free drinks, but I don't want drinks....flash forward to the next day..still there. I call my bank and they can't see anything that shows as a reversal and I have to wait to see if it goes through before they can remove it. I work on this all day. It is now 6 days later and the $50 is gone but an extra $6 was charged. I am livid. I call and they can't do anything til the morning and the back needs to start a new complaint. Yea...why would I go back...that drink was not work all of this hassle. Wow and not once did I receive any consideration for my inconvenience. I was however asked to be patient because she is new and didn't realize what she was doing...why should I be patient...she refused to even tell me of the error..if I didn't' look it would be charged. I am a customer...she should know how to run the cards and if she made an error she should have told someone right away and fixed it. Holly Cow is...
