One of my favorite places to eat… actually it’s growing into an addiction mostly because they have the best French toast I have EVER eaten… even better than my own that I make at home. Was in the Colorado Springs area for work and once I found there was a location there, I was super geeked. And as always, my go to breakfast was on point. I always order the three egg scramble with spinach, ham and jack cheese, the hash brown and I sub the toast that comes with it for the bread pudding French toast. When I say this has to be the same bread that was broken at the last supper, don’t argue with me about it😂 It’s brioche in all its glory then probably soaked in the bread pudding custard( Im guessing, not sure how it’s made but the cook in me is trying to figure it out lol) then cooked and topped with candied pecans, vanilla crème, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, whipped mascarpone, caramel, and strawberries. I know it sounds like a lot on top but actually it’s proportioned so that nothing overpowers each other and it works. Me personally I remove all the extra sugars and caramel because I’m diabetic and usually just have the vanilla crème which isn’t really sweet and it doesn’t send my blood sugar overboard, which makes it even more attractive to eat. The scramble was really good, the spinach had a nice wilt but also still had a little crunch. The ham had a little sweetness to it with subtle smoky undertones to give the dish the salty component to balance it out. If I had to nit pick at something would be whoever was cooking went a little heavy handed on the cheese for my liking but the dish was really delicious. If you’re someone who likes hash browns , you’re gonna love these. It’s not a traditional heap of shredded potatoes or one of those fast food patties you see at some places, but a more refined, neat circular one that looks like something your cousin who went to culinary school would make. It’s not small either and it’s big on flavor. It’s formed like a crabcake but only with potatoes. It has a nice height and width but also is seasoned well and has onions inside. I can imagine a piece of ham and a runny egg on top.. phew. Overall the inside of the restaurant was full of happy people eating good food. The staff was attentive and courteous. Shoutout to Kirsten, she’s the beautiful young lady that took my order. She was a Godsend. Even though I didn’t dine in she checked on me and made sure to ask if I needed anything the whole time while I waited on my order. You can’t teach great customer service like that. I made sure to tip her. I would recommend this place to anyone. If you want to dine in on the weekend I suggest making reservations or signing in ahead of time because you will wait at least 30 minutes or longer for a table. Just a heads up. Sign up is easy just go to the website and make reservations or join the waitlist. I highly suggest this method so you can get seated faster. There’s open seating at the bar but those spots are limited also. They do serve cocktails and coffee drinks also. Be sure to ask for the pancake of the week too. You’ll...
Read moreAn AMAZING PLACE! We went on a whim one Saturday morning, and used the reservation system. For those used to busy coffee shops and restaurants on the East Coast, especially along the subway lines, this place, when busy, is just like everyday life in the city, but with the added bonus of more space per person, and a gorgeous mountain view through their huge windows! I honestly cant say enough good things about our visit. Despite the busyness, we got a table fast within the expected time frame. Our waiter was more like a host than a server, and gave substitution recommendations from his own personal experience. And the FOOD - my my my myyyy!!! I have been battling through a changed gut since a successful fight against c-diff. I was feeling the (hopefully temporary) loss of comforting gluten and satisfying dairy staples like tummy-filling yogurt and the golden toasty touch of melted cheese. I have been surviving, and now I know and am used to many well-made substitutes, but I still miss ENJOYING and SAVORING my old favorites. This kitchen made it all a faded memory. Substitutes up the wazoo, and the dishes with them taste SOOO GOOOOOD!!! I felt the warm gooey sunshine of puffy and sweet french toast (hadn't had it since before the c-diff), a thick and filling pile of scrambled eggs with my favorite veggie add-ins (spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes), and a steamy, frothy, aromatic (half sweet half savory) hot chai with almond milk. I was in BREAKFAST HOG HEAVEN, a heaven I thought was far from my obedient and resigned reach. Y'all with food avoidances know what I'm talking about!!!! Coupled with the smell of good coffee, the chatter around us, and the talk about football and weather, this lively place was just what this (sometimes homesick but will never admit it or not be greatful for being brought here and making a home in this beautiful place, amen ) East Coast Girl needed. I cant speak about any of the other features of this restaurant, but what we did experience on the busiest day of the weekend, astounded and delighted me. Go enjoy it...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, with some friends and we had a great experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lively and upbeat.
I started my meal with a mimosa, or two, and no complaints there. For brunch I ordered ala carte, which was a great way to try a variety of dishes. I had double hash browns, jack cheese, barbacoa, avocado, and a banana with all-natural peanut butter. All the ingredients were fresh, and the barbacoa was perfectly seasoned. I generally like my hash browns a bit crispier, but they were very tasty nonetheless and fit very well with the cheese, avocado, and barbacoa. The avocado was perfectly ripe which is always a treat.
What really made the experience for me was the server, Alyssa. She was super kind and happy to take my crazy and off-the-wall order. I am not even sure if peanut butter was on the menu but somehow she made it happen -- and I ended up with everything that I ordered which was great. The atmosphere reminded me of a more modern Village Inn but with better music. It was a bit crowded when we got there but we were able to get a table at the bar right away.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Snooze and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great brunch. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is perfect for a lively morning.
Pros: Delicious food Excellent service Lively atmosphere Good value for ala carte orders Friendly and accommodating staff
Cons: Drinks are a bit small for the price Can be crowded on weekends
Overall: Snooze is a great place to go for a delicious and satisfying brunch. If you're looking for a great brunch spot with a lively atmosphere, I highly recommend Snooze.
