My wife and I just had the same horrible customer service and, in seeing similar reviews, I'm guessing the management doesn't care. I've heard it's hard to find good workers now, but today's experience was next-level weird. I should say that we've had Wonderful service here before, but the three employees working today (July 6 @5:30pm) made us feel Super Awkward.
Business was light and, while both guys noticed us, no one said anything. We stood at the register for several minutes, awkwardly, with the guys glancing at us, but remaining speechless. When one came to the register, he said nothing and barely looked at us. I couldn't even tell when I could start our smoothie order. After, the guys worked quietly, barely talking to each other. Then a girl came in and started working too, still in her hoodie...never acknowledging the guys (nor them to her)... and us confused if she was a real employee or not.
My wife and I watched all of this in confounded fascination, wondering if the staff had somehow mastered telepathy. Either that or we were "being punked" and a camera crew was seriously going to emerge soon and explain the joke. I mean...really??
My wife and I have worked Many food service and retail jobs in our day and this experience hurt our heads.
Our drink-orders were surprisingly correct. But while waiting, we noticed a number of interesting specials, on the menu, that could've been mentioned if this crew bothered to communicate. Not only is that a loss of profits, but we would've Loved to know about savings of sandwich-combos! Crazy!
We do plan to return. But if we see that crew again, we'll turn around and...
Read moreWow!!!! Beware of Eric BIG SENSITIVE upset that he had to be at work and do his job. He starts by asking us what he can get for us, so we order two meals with 2 smoothies... We proceed to give him two coupons and he sighes with frustration about putting in coupon codes aka his job! He then tells us he can only use one coupon, so I ask if we can do 2 separate orders and he sighssssss HUGELY for the second time and says “REALLY?” Yes, Eric REALLY.... We are patrons, you work in customer service which I have worked my whole life and NEVER HAVE I EVER, EVER, EVER treated a guest, a PAYING CUSTOMER with so much disrespect. He was upset that he had to take orders and be at work, then his coworkers harassed us on out way out. I will be making a formal complaint. I am sooooooo dissatisfied and disappointed with Tropical Cafe. I love this place we have been multiple times and have always had great service but today was such a joke. Eric was beyond wrong and then played victim afterwards, not to mention he never greeted us and saw the coupons in our hand!!! Then to get further harassed on the way out by his colleagues who I’ve seen every time I’ve been in there (man with the glasses tried to go HAM on the way out) I hope you’re not the manager. Both should be fired, CLEAN IT UP...
Read moreThe app let me order at 9:30am i ordered delivery it said my order would be here at 9:53am. 10:11am rolls around and the app lets me know my driver is on the way. i ordered a pomegranate smoothie a bahama momma smoothie and a jerk chicken wrap with corn. the uber driver shows up like 45 mins later with no wrap and two completely different smoothies than i ordered. i called tropical smoothie and told them the order took forever to get here and they offered a refund and said they don’t even open until 10:00am and if i went and picked it up they would remake the sandwich too but not fix the drinks. i thought about it and i guess something was better than nothing so i went to pick up the sandwich , in the store i realized i was kind of hungry too and ordered a chicken bacon ranch sandwich all to get home and try to eat a sandwich SOAKED in...
