I’d like to preface this review by saying the food is amazing, atmosphere is great, but if you dine here - I would recommend specifically requesting you do NOT get Brandon as your server.
I’m not one to write a bad review, but the exceptionally poor quality of service my boyfriend’s family & I received from Brandon on Friday 3/28 around 6:30-7pm is notable.
We came out as a party of 6 to celebrate my boyfriend’s graduation. He and his mother frequent this location and have never had an issue before.
Service began with Brandon greeting us as if we were an inconvenience. No smile, no table side manners. This would be fine, had he not been extremely rude for the rest of our service.
The worst of it was when we had a question about a menu item. We had one of our very nice friends with us, and he was interested in the grilled lemon chicken. He asks Brandon, “what’s the difference between lemon pepper chicken and your grilled lemon chicken?” to which Brandon replies, “is that a trick question? What are you even asking?” He had an extremely rude tone and demeanor. He actually scoffed at my friend, and asked him, “I mean what are you even asking? Is that something you ate somewhere else?”
After a few back and forth comments, I stepped in, and said “this is all you have to say: lemon pepper chicken is seasoned and this grilled chicken comes with a lemon cream sauce.” I understand being confused by the question, but all you really need to do is politely describe the dish to the guest.
We got a few appetizers, and requested sour cream. It never came. When we reminded Brandon, he said “oh, I told them to bring that, I don’t know why it never came.” Minor issue that was heightened by Brandon’s lack of manners.
Brandon takes our food order. We don’t see him again until a good 10-15 minutes after we are through with our meals. My boyfriend’s aunt had ordered grilled onions to top her steak, which we never received nor had the chance to ask for. Empty drinks, empty waters. We wanted another round of drinks, but never had an opportunity to order them. We watched Brandon take care of his other tables and visit them multiple times throughout their service.
When Brandon finally came back, we had some dishes stacked. He let us know he didn’t like how we had stacked them by saying, “don’t like that.” He then asks, “I mean, what do you guys even need at this point? Boxes or something?” in a very rude manner. We requested boxes, more water, and checks. Brandon brought our boxes, never returned with water, and gave us a handheld and told us to split our checks ourselves. I’m not sure if this is normally done with parties, but this was a unique experience for us at this location.
When we mentioned the missing grilled onions, he said “well I told them to put them on there, it’s weird that they didn’t.” If he had checked on us once during our meal, the issue would have been easily resolved. He did bring her a free appetizer card for the inconvenience, which was appreciated but truly the least he could do.
I have been serving for 10 years, my boyfriend formerly managed a multimillion dollar restaurant, and his aunt is also a restaurant manager. We are an extremely understanding and patient table and we understand the industry experience. We typically tip 20% minimum. I completely understand being busy, being new, having too many tables, etc. However, treating your guests terribly combined with quite literally doing the absolute bare minimum is unacceptable...

The best way I can describe Lazy Dog is: "a chain that doesn't remotely feel like a chain"
While the chain itself is based in CA, this location had a very Colorado vibe to it, offering some great craft beer choices and excellent made from scratch food.
I chose the Bison Burger with cajun fries and paired it with the Roadhouse Dad Bod Amber. The lighter (4.8% ABV) beer went quite well with the entree. The bison in the burger had a slight smokiness to it, and was grilled to a near perfect medium-rare to my preference. It was accompanied by a nice creamy havarti cheese and bacon jam. Needless to say, that burger did not last long on my plate. The fries had just the right amount of seasoning with a twist of lime. I did not ask what the dip was to go with them, but it worked well.
My partner chose the 5 cheese grilled cheese sandwich paired with Tomato Soup and a salad I can't place the name of. He thought the sandwich was fantastic and the soup ate more like a tomato bisque but made the sandwich VERY dippable. The salad was a great palate cleanser and he chose the Walrus Hazy IPA.
Since this was our first time going, we got a visit by the GM, Josh, who brought over a complimentary appetizer and a coupon for another one for our next visit. Josh was super nice and welcoming and made a great first impression for the business. Definitely going to recommend this spot to my colleagues as a lunch meetup!
Our server, Ainsleigh was absolutely amazing! She provided some great menu recommendations and got my order perfect, despite my picky eating nature. She answered all questions without missing a beat and her beer recommendation was spot on.
Music inside was definitely not too loud, and if it weren't for the parents with a baby nearby, would have been a great conversational lunch.
To cap off the day, we each took home one of their frozen dinners which will be devoured tonight. At $11 each, it's not a bad deal when you want to grab and go home!
Thanks for the excellent food and service, Lazy Dog, and we look forward to our...
Read moreI would like to first start out with the good things that happened at Lazy Dog and that was we had terrific service from our waitress Jamie. She is amazing. She should be one to train all the other waitresses and managers. The food was very good top-notch!
The disappointing thing was when we went there and we’re told it would be about an hour and a half wait, we are willing to wait because the food and the service is good and we wanted to really be seated in one of our favorite waitresses area and then we were told we could go and sit in one seat by another manager there with the concurrence of a manager named Dominic. We go to sit down and Dominic comes over he asks if we have a reservation? We said no and then said we can’t sit there because they were stacked with people 3 high with reservations, so we went back to the front to wait. We stayed only because we did want to have your food and the service but then then less than 5 minutes later, we got called for our seat, who knew we’d be going to the exact same table? When we said something about we’re at the same table that you did not want to sit all he say was yeah I guess it looks that way and get kept giving us dirty looks whenever he passed by. Not once stopping by to apologize and this is why that old saying one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch is fitting, because it will probably make us think twice before we go there Again. Or at least call to find out who the manager on duty is because if it’s Dominic again, we definitely will not be wanting to go then. He is a poor. Impression to give someone when they go there luckily enough it was one of multiple times that we have went there, but for somebody, maybe the first time they’ve went and had the same experience I know definitely they probably would never come back. I think he needs a little bit more training on how to...
