Bottom Line Up Front: Go somewhere else!
I took my family here for the first time yesterday. We have never been to a skyzone before and decided for my sons 5th birthday to go. We did not actually have a birthday party here just went for open jump. Needless to say it was a horrible experience and we left before our time was up and will not be going back. The staff is made up of a bunch of teenagers who pick and choose when to up hold the company’s rules. We had several instances where this kid would tell only my family they could not do something while allowing everyone else to do it.
Example(s):
Apparently you can only have one person per square in the open jump area and we did not know this as we had never been there before, but while I was yelled at for jumping on a square with my 5 year old son (while holding his hands and helping him jump I might add) there were several other people (up to 4 to 5) on a single square and no one said a thing. I tested this out by having my teenage daughter jump with my son and no one said anything. As soon as I tried to do it again the same kid told me to stop. Talk about double standards! Another time we were sitting in a corner on the padding (me, my son and my wife) and we were told to get up as you can’t sit in the open jump area I guess. All the while an EMPLOYEE and 4 other kids were sitting on the padding around a square in the middle of the open jump area. Right next to them were 4 teenage girls who were also laying on a single square and not one person said anything to them. At this point we decided to take our children down to the foam blocks. When we arrived it looked unorganized and everyone was just running and jumping in while the employee watched but said nothing. So our kids waited for a clear path and ran and jumped in. All of them stayed in the same lane/area. As soon as this happens we are told they have to get out because only 3 people are allowed in the foam area at a time. When ended up going back to the open jump area because the other people there were loitering and it was a waste of time to wait for nothing. Later we made our way back to the foam block area and the same thing was going on. There were at least 5 to 6 people in the foam area, literally laying in it. The employee was chatting it up with some parents that were sitting on the ground not watching their kids and as soon as our kids get there it goes back to 3 kids only and our kids cant use the area, but the people who were already there continue to get to use the area and have more than 3 people in the foam blocks at a time. I have several more examples where we were basically singled out, but this is getting long. The point is rules are fine, but the rules should be applied to everyone, and not just my family. Period. At no point did this place tell us the rules or give us rules to read prior to jumping, but even if they had it is still total b.s. that they only were applied to us and no one else. Bottom line I wont ever give this place my money again. We paid for 7 people for 2 hours. It was not cheap and was not worth...
Read moreWell, they for sure lost a customer today. First of all, my son has special needs. When I booked my daughters party, I spoke with the manager about him needing to wear braces and shoes. This person assured me that it was no problem to wear shoes, we just don’t want the kiddos slipping. When we arrived for the party, I was offered socks to put over his shoes and braces. But ultimately – It was up to us what we wanted to do. We chose to leave his shoes on and we were stopped 4 times by employees saying that he cannot jump with shoes on. One person even told us the owner requested he put socks on. When we explained and asked to speak to the owner he then informed us that she wasn’t even there. How about having a short pow wow with your staff and say something along the lines of “hey guys, we have a paying customer here with disabilities and we can all be the same page that his shoes are fine and stop bombarding the family on what was supposed to be a fun day for them….” Also, upon check in – I was told that my “party host” would come find me and let me know when my room is ready. We jumped for one hour until our name was called over the intercom. I met the alleged host at the door to the party room who informs me that the pizza is not even ready. I ordered (1) cheese, (1) pepperoni and was given (1) Sprite and (1) lemonade. When I booked the party, I asked for water and lemonade and was told- water was included. Well, my “host” had to leave to get the pizzas. Then She left again for the waters. The kids drank it all and asked for more. Then she turns to me and says “Its another $5 to fill the pitchers” – Okay so nickel and dime me (got it), but also this information could have been shared beforehand – which of course wasn’t. How embarrassing to be mentioned in the middle of the party. I planned my daughter’s birthday party at this location and the website and booking manager made everything sound SO wonderful. Pizza, drinks, socks, jump time, invitations, your own personal host + party decorations. You kind of get the bare minimum with that. It clearly states on the website that outside food and drink is not allowed, also that decorations would be handled by the “host”. I would have much rather brought my own food than the embarrassment that was given instead. Also, decorations?? The room was not at all decorated. Oh and when I complained in person at check out, I was told that the reason the "host" was so ill prepared was due to the previous party mom really giving her a hard time. Well, I can imagine that family also had an extremely poor experience. I strongly urge sky zone to train their team on customers with disabilities before they end up in a lawsuit Also- Really ask about what you’re getting when you book your party. I encourage folks to have it...
Read moreFirst and foremost, most of the staff are absolutely horrible. They don’t watch the kids at all, they don’t enforce any of the rules (causing multiple injures or close calls in the 2 hours we were there), and they act completely inappropriate. One male staff was dancing and grinding on the railings, a female staff was jumping on a trampoline the entire time and would pull her shirt tight in the back to make her breasts more prominent every time male staff came over to talk to her, multiple staff were laying down on benches (I don’t think sleeping, but maybe), most of the staff were huddled around talking about Tik Tok videos, and not once did I hear a staff member correct a child who was breaking the rules. The staff was trying to convince me to let my 3 year old go play on the trampolines alone while I sit in the lobby. She first told me I needed to buy an Elite Membership and then pay an additional $10 to be able to supervise my own child, but it wouldn’t cost me anything to just leave him alone with them (tempted to report to the state, this made me a little uncomfortable especially after watching the staff). We had a little argument before she said I could watch him myself if I bought a pair of their socks. When I was reviewing the rules with my son, I asked a staff member what “gainers” meant (they aren’t allowed) and she said she didn’t know. “Double jumping” is not allowed (1 person on a trampoline at a time) but this was never enforced. A kid jumped on a trampoline my son was on, my son fell down, and the kid kept jumping. I had to be the grumpy mom and yell at him to stop, but my son had already bit his tongue and was bleeding. Not fun for any of us. All the games had at least some part that was broken. Trampolines are all stretched and saggy, they desperately need replaced. You have to wear their branded socks, which cost $3-4 each, a locker costs 25¢, it costs $1 to activate each arcade credit card. The arcade games only play for 10-15 seconds each and cost $3-10 each to play; and the way the credit work, you are left with $2 that can’t be redeemed. We will not be back. I’m surprised this place is even...
