Tokyo Joe's - S Nevada — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

Never have I had meal that I have paid for been so disappointing. The food was abysmal and tasted of nothing but ginger sawdust, had I ordered the lumberjack ginger surprise this would not had an issue but alas i didn't. The "staff" looked to have trouble with understanding rudimentary basics of language as we had to tell them our order three times. Twice at the register and once again when they brought up the wrong meals. Or perhaps the were aware that what I was about to ingest would leave me with a sense of disappointment so profound that it transcends emotion, and wanted to give me an out but that would be giving them credit. The floors and tables were clean, but the plates and bowls can not be held to the same standard. I would have complained to a manager, but it took all the effort I had to choke down the sushi that looked like it had been prepared in the dark by a person who has a hook for a hand a chainsaw for the other. All I can wonder if if I took part in some bizarre social experiment to test the limits of the human...

I was debating between this spot and ramen since both were close by...and I chose Tokyo Joe’s. I didn’t dine in, but ordered UberEats. I didn’t realize it was a chain restaurant. The good thing is that the food arrived fast and fresh.

I got an order of the jalapeño ahi roll (4pc), crab cheese wonton roll (4pc), and also a bowl of “General Joe’s” soup. The rolls were very average, could’ve had more kick in the flavor department. Not high quality at all. The soup was a coconut curry broth with avocado, a soft boiled egg, green onion, a side of rice, & I got shrimp in it. The broth was oddly bitter tasting. It really threw me off but I was so hungry. Really sad I spent nearly $40 with tip and service fees from UberEats.

Frankly, I should have chose ramen instead. I only scarfed it down because of the munchies. Hehe. Didn’t even have time to snap a pic! This is very basic Americanized Asian food. If you’re into that, then that’s up to you...but I would...

So I want to start by saying when they get the food right it's good both times we ordered take out from here we get home and it's wrong missing major ingredients my husbands didnt even have the protein kinda a major component so we give it another try a few weeks later once again we get home and are missing ingredients that we paid extra for. This time I call the manager she is nice and offers a refund or a make up visit, we like the food staff is friendly so we go in for our makeup meal manager comps it we get home and once again 3rd time missing ingredients granted I didnt pay for it but that's 3 times now. And yes I do understand the concept of checking your order before you leave however with this type of meal its pretty hard to tell if each ingredient is there until you dig in. It's to bad because we enjoy the food but for the price, to get all the way home to have things missing is hard to justify returning and not just once but 3x out...
