Weâve tried the Woodcellar twice now, and both times were disappointed. The first time I had a burger, which was mediocre and overcooked. My husband had the fish and chips, and the fish was completely overcooked and dried out. This past week we decided to try again as I wanted a burger and thought weâd give them a second shot. I ordered a bison burger, ordered medium. It was cooked medium well. It at least had decent flavor which saved it from being terrible. Sweet potato fries were good. My husband had a regular burger, ordered medium, and it was cooked well+. Completely dried out. The server asked if he wanted another and he declined figuring it probably would be cooked the same or come out bloody. Service on the first visit was fine, the second visit was poor. Our server gave us menus and water and then kept walking past us for about 10 minutes despite it being clear that we were ready to order. After she completely disappeared for about 5 minutes we flagged down another server who put in our order (but forgot to include the beer I ordered). When the first server reappeared she completely ignored us, I assume because she was irritated we flagged down the other server. When my husband got her attention to say I hadnât gotten my beer she said in a snippy voice âWell I didnât take your order.â His response was âOh so thatâs how it is.â Her response was âI just mean I donât know what she ordered.â Maybe you should ask? Or apologize and talk to the other server? The other server came over and said she forgot to enter it and then did so. Should have been comped. Just a disappointing experience with bad food and poor service. Gave it two stars instead of one as the sweet potato fries are good. We...
Read moreA place with great potential. We have been there about a couple dozen times or so over the last few years, and it is a bit of a hike for us. Food is surprisingly good for a bar / tavern; we have been impressed enough to return though there are many other options in the area. My only complaint is that while some of the servers are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating...there are a couple we have ran across who are downright rude and obviously don't like dealing with people that aren't from Evergreen. Great potential, and I hope we can enjoy future experiences, but if they want a five star review they need to be a bit more careful when it comes to 'outsiders' and whatever influence we might have on their business. Worth a try for sure, just a bit flustered about a couple of self entitled employees who can make the experience far...
Read moreWoodcellar really has become a locals place and I love that. Itâs super laid back so donât expect to come in for a quick meal. Came here on Labor Day afternoon and it really wasnât too busy, the bar top was full but service was rough. 2 gals were doing the best they could - 1 server and 1 in the kitchen bringing out food. We waited a looonngggg time. Thankfully my kid was entertained and didnât throw a fit for his food but oh my god I canât believe how long we sat there to be asked for our order and for our food to come. Mondays are usually a slow day but management should have realized Evergreen gets crowded on a holiday and this place would have a big lunch crowd. Food was good when we got our food. Bomb wings! $21 for a chicken Cesar! High prices but overall a great place to chill out for...
