Viva Burrito CO — Restaurant in Colorado

SUMMARY Consistent, sometimes painfully. Dirty dive. Good food. Terrible parking lot.

OUTSIDE I find this spot difficult to get to. This particular stretch of Pecos has been terribly busy my last few visits. I was there today (March 2018) and before that July 2017 so quite a span of time, not sure what the norm is. You turn into their parking lot (hopefully on the right side of the building) there are no painted markings. The drive thru and parking entrance is on the right while the exit is on the left. But, you just have to know this.

Once you are on the lot be sure to avoid tire sized pot holes. These are no joke holes folks, they'll eat your car up! And be prepared to drive over a lot of garbage. I've never seen an exterior of a restaurant quite so neglected.

ORDERING: I am a creature of habit. So for the past 8 years I've ordered the same carne asada torta on every visit. And this place is consistent! 8 years and I always know what to expect. You can't say that about very many places! I like their salsa and one tiny container seems to do the trick for me. And while it looks watery, it packs a punch so beware.

I also LOVE their xango! I mean, I've never seen one anywhere else still to this day. It's like cheesecake wrapped in a pastry with sugar and fried ... I mean you HAVE to try it! But, every time I go ask for no chocolate on it. And every time I go, for 8 years I get chocolate sauce. Consistent!

SERVICE: I have never encountered a single friendly staff member here. Ever. They're not rude but certainly not happy. Anything out of the norm makes them even less happy. My kid can't eat meat so I order a torta with no meat. Strikes panic every single time. And they "can't" ring it up any other way so six bucks for bread is what I just do.

Today I ordered 2 xangos and AFTER I paid I was informed they were out. I paid with a card but she refunded me cash. I thought I got too much back and checked the receipt to see what the tax rate is over there but the receipt didn't show it. I thought it was odd they didn't void my transaction and start again. I'll probably just pay with cash going forward here.

I've never once gone inside. From what I can see from the window I don't want to. I like to pretend my amazing food is coming out of a sparkly white OCD owned place and I can't kill that fantasy by...

Not only what I wish that there were negative stars but also that Google would allow me to cuss when doing reviews two terrible places like this. Where do I start? First thing, don't go by their posted hours on Google Maps because these people work whenever they feel like it. I've gone there a couple times just to see if anything would change from my first experience and the place was closed when it advertised as being open. The food is not Mexican food. At least in my opinion, it just seems like whoever's behind the grill does whatever they feel like doing when it comes to items on their menu. The quality of food is beyond terrible, I would even dare to say that this place is hazardous for your health. On the first try, I ordered a simple carne asada burrito; nothing special just a burrito. The meat was dry and some spots of the burrito it even smelled raunchy. I took it back, and played it safe by ordering a simple quesadilla. I think my seven-year-old nice could make a better quesadilla then the one I received. The second time around I ordered a carne asada burrito once again... Let's just say it was a little bit better than the first time. What really boggles me is that I'm half Latino and was raised with Mexican food all my life, and I don't understand how the workers are Mexican but yet they can't make Mexican food. Please help me to understand this. Anyhow unless you want to have a bubble gut a possibly end up in the bathroom for quite a while just avoid going...

I'm not sure who and how there are multiple locations considering the location here on Pecos seems to open when they want close when they want and after they used to be open 24 hours now you can hardly catch them open and when you try and reach corporate the phone listed can not take messages at this time 2 of the other locations I called had know infor they could give me to reach the corporate office. Know email address website nothing so maybe someone who is apart of this BUSSINESSS might see this review and maybe then then they can get the hours in which they are open stable and consistent... I WENT THERE LAST WEEK AT 10 THEY WERE OPEN MY DAUGHTER WENT THERE FRIDAY AT 9 THEY WERE CLOSED I JUST LEFT THERE AR 9 16 CLOSED AGAIN... I KNOW I HAVE ABOUT HAD ENOUGH OF NOT BEING ABLE TO GET FOOD OR TO FLGET FOOD MAYBE and not knowing if they are open or closed it's really rather old already and if it doesn't change I'm sure there are alot of us that will no longer be customers ... WAKE UP Viva management...
