This is the absolute worst McDonalds in Columbia! Maybe the worst in the state of Missouri. I had two bad experiences within 7 days of each other. The first: I was in drive thru and ordered a shake. The drive thru associate said “we have no shakes today”. No apology or friendliness at all. The second: I was in drive thru and the line was fairly long, which was very understandable, it was right around 7ish pm. I did not mind waiting in line. The line did move slower than expected, but, still, I didn’t mind, I am a very understanding person when it comes to being served or just slow, busy times, because I know, stuff happens and it’s easy to get behind when in customer service. So, I get to the speaker, I went with the line that is on the inside (I don’t know how else to describe it). I waited at least 2 minutes and still did not have an associate ask to take my order yet. So I said “hello” no response, so I waited approximately another minute and said “hello”, again no response. It was so bizarre! The customer before me had just ordered at this speaker AND the other lane of drive thru was having their orders taken and moving along as normal. I looked up the phone number, called and told the person that answered the phone I had been sitting there for a long time, and nobody had even acknowledged that I was there. She went and found the associate that was working that particular lane of the drive-through. It was probably about 30 seconds later and this young girl came on and very really asked to take my order. I had ordered through the app so I gave her the number. Then her reply was “ pull forward” and did not say it very nicely at all. I was actually pretty shocked due to the fact, I did not receive an apology for sitting there and waiting, and I had to call the store to ask to have someone answer the speaker. While I was then waiting to pull up to the first window the girl that was sent working the second register, which would be the one that took my order, proceeded to stare at me, then proceeded to flip me off. Her name was Kirsten, the girl that spoke to me when I pulled up to get my receipt, was obviously not the one on the speaker, because her voice was totally different, so then this verified for me, that it was the girl at the second register. Read moreI do not leave bad reviews. I am very kind, understanding, patient and forgiving. I give chance after chance. My mentality is always it's just a bad day. I also know these reviews won't change anything. My first job was McDonald's. It's not easy like a lot of people think. This McDonald's is also probably one of the busiest being next to 70 AND 63 but good grief I can only be so forgiving. I should have stopped coming to this one and learned my lesson. It is consistently awful. Forget about going inside this one but I'll leave that alone. It's also a doordashers nightmare but I'll save that for another time too. I'm only going to touch on tonight's experience. We pulled up to the speaker and a guy answered. We said we had a code from the app. No reply. We repeated then told them the code. He said okay he got it. We ordered, the screen was broken. He read it back and half of it was wrong. So we went through it again. Wrong again. He eventually got it right. We pulled up and paid him. He did not put our code in so we didn't get our 20% off. I was done at this point so I just said forget it, we'll pay full price. We paid and he only gave us our coins back. Not our cash. So after waiting a couple minutes while he struggled to take someone else's order we decided to tell them at the second window. They got our correct change back. Looked at the receipt and STILL he had things wrong but at this point we were even more done. It hurts me to be unkind to others but he has no business taking orders if he was that incompetent or just very poorly trained. We should have drove away before we even paid. Our sweet tea was not sweet. It never is at this one. One of our teas had crunchy sugar that hadn't dissolved. We ordered a lot of nuggets and had no sauce. We asked for our sauces and received the wrong ones. We ended up trashing our drinks and going somewhere else to spend more money on drinks. We just needed a quick supper after a long day and it was a disaster. I will not come back. I have finally learned my lesson. Nothing will change because that one gets so much business but hopefully my review will help just a few people choose somewhere else. The food was fine. It was McDonald's. However I felt the need to write a review today because the overall experience was so bad. I wish I could give it a half star. 04/01/24 around 14:58 is when I made my order. I got a quarter pounder, small fry, 4pc nugget, and a pack of cookies. I originally wanted a quarter pounder meal with a sprite but they didn't have it today. I had also originally wanted a small mcflurry but apparently their ice cream machine was down too. No big deal on these two things, slightly annoyed but I get it. However, once I paid for the meal the second window told me to wait by the sidewalk because they had to cook the burger. Ok, so I did. It took 20 minutes before I was even updated on the status of my order and that was only because I waved down the staff who were giving orders to people who had put in their orders after mine. I was told at the time that "someone accidentally put [my] burger in another customers bag and they have to remake it". Fine I guess. They got the order out pretty quickly after that BUT not even 2 minutes after I got it and I started eating I realized that pretty much everything was lukewarm. Fries were cold, it was almost as if they had been sitting out for 10 minutes. Burger was lukewarm, as if they didn't just make it even though they said they did. Nuggets were cold, again as if they had been sitting out for a while. The only decent thing about it was that the cookies were slightly warm. I understand that they were busy but the service and the food could have been WAY better. I only go here because it's close to work but I hope to never have to come here again because this is not the first nor the third time they got things wrong. It's more like the 7th.
