I believe it's time for an update! It took me a minute to decide if I wanted to leave a review but I wanted to share my experience!
After patronizing this Chilis for years, I've seen a drastic decline in service. At one point, I'd received exceptional service until last year when I was treated disparately by the host and manager! I typically sit at the bar and watch sports when I dined here at this location. The past (4) visits I was declined services in the bar area which I always sat in the booth. FINAL visit 1 month ago!
Here's the back story. I used to seat myself at a booth because that was the normal process whenever I went to this particular location. The host would say the bartender will be with you, so cool. This one particular evening I entered the restaurant, it was between 7 and 8 p.m. I wanted to watch sports while eating and having a drink. I walked towards the bar area and was going to seat myself. Unknowingly, that was no longer an option. A young male host was extremely rude and very condescending stating, "you can't seat yourself." I have to seat you with disdain in his eyes! I said to him that I wasn't aware of the changes very calmly. I didn't mind being redirected but I had a problem with the way he looked and spoke to me. His tone was unacceptable!
Mind you, there were about 5 ppl sitting at the bar laughing and talking. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. I told him ok, cool. After saying that he then proceeded to tell me the bar was closed and said they were no longer accepting any more patrons in a very rude manner. I decided to get a to go order and waited 5 minutes before I was assisted again by another male employee who was sitting and laughing with other co-workers. He was also rude! He said I had to go online and place my order. He acted like I interrupted his conversation to assist me. I didn't say anything except ok! I had the app but I figured the employee could place the order just as well. In the past it wasn't a problem. Another red flag!
While waiting for my food, I decided to call Chilis and asked to speak with the manager because I wanted to understand the dynamics of what was happening. I asked him if the bar area was closed and he immediately said, " No it wasn't!" I said well the host at the door said the bar was closed so someone needs to let him know the bar is open! As soon as I mentioned the host he then said, oh yeah the bar is closed. I picked up my food and left. I was taken aback by the lack of professionalism at this establishment that would treat their customers with such little regard. Without customers, the doors would be permanently closed. Actually, it may not be a bad idea!
I replayed in my head what transpired. I then said let me go there again to see if I'm treated the same way and again, I was denied and was told the bar was closing and there weren't any more customers being seated. Being a bartender myself, I had "Never" heard of such a thing. Someone would relieve me when I went on break even if it was the manager, the bar wouldn't close down while customers are still sitting at the bar. 3rd time visit, I was told the exact same story that the bar was closing to allow the bartender to go on break! The 4th time l asked to be seated at the bar and was told the same story.
I sat in an area and could see them seating other ppl at the bar! Now, at no point and time had I drank any alcohol before going to the restaurant on either occasion! I just want to put that out there and I don't cause a scene. I observe and take notes so I can make an honest review of what transpired.
I used to go to the bar area and sit in the booth, I would drink one or 2 drinks then I'd leave. The normal time frame that I'd go was between 2 and 4 p.m. when it was slow, so there aren't any excuses why the bar would be closed!
Needless to say that I WOULD NEVER PATRONIZE this particular location ever again! The food was just as bad as the service I received.
Spend your money where the food is good, and you're valued and appreciated as a...
Read moreMe and my wife was on our way home from a cruise and had luggage in the back of my truck we wanted to keep an eye on. We walked in to this location the young man asked for my name and said it would be a 15 minute wait I said that is fine but can we be seated so that I can keep an eye on my truck with the luggage in the back of it. A very simple question that anybody should’ve been able to answer. His reply was I have to ask and I said no problem. I thought instead of making us wait the full 15 minutes to be seated he would go ask but he just started doing other things and serving customers that were already there. Me and my wife was then greeted by a young lady and she asked for my name and was getting ready to Seat us and I ask the same question again as soon as I asked the question she rolled her eyes at me and said I have to ask. Seeing her roll her eyes at me I said if that will be a problem just let me know and she just turned around and walked off not saying another word. Clearly did not want to be there along with the other young gentleman that first greeted us. My wife looked at me and asked did she just roll her eyes at you I turned around and looked at her and said let’s Get out of here and that we did. We went right next-door to IHOP and was treated with respect and there was no question as to whether we could be seated where we can watch our truck. While sitting in the IHOP I immediately called and talk to the manager next-door at Chili’s whose name is Chris. I told him the whole situation and he apologized for the seating issues and also continue to explain that they make fun of the host/waitress all the time about her “TICK” she has where she rolls her eyes all the time and he acted like it was no big deal. I told him he can downplay it all he wants I said I will be contacting the general manager tomorrow and he simply replied OK as if it was no big deal at all. Given that I did not contact the general manager I went straight to corporate today. I am 56 years old in to this day I have never walked into a restaurant and been treated with such disrespect to the point to where I left before I was even seated. If there was an option for no stars that would be what...
Read moreUpon arrival the hostess sat us at a booth the floor had trash and something was spilled on the floor. The table wasn't wiped down real good. We ended up moving to another booth(much better). It was father's day so we knew it was going to be busy and expected to wait. The server came and asked for our drink order and if we wanted appetizers. We received it fairly quick which was surprising but good. I had the chicken enchilada soup it was okay the chips on top were stale. My husband had chips and salsa , let's just say I had better at other Chili's restaurants. After a while of waiting the server came back and asked what we wanted to eat we said QP burger with fries and no onions. My husband added lettuce and tomatoes which she told us would probably be an extra charge but we were okay with that. After waiting a little while we received our food my husband said what's that I thought it was melted cheese until I bit into my burger and realized it was a thousand Island dressing. I was okay with eating the burger even though it wasn't what I ordered but my husband was upset especially because he doesn't like anything mayo based or even resemble it. He quickly motioned for the server and told her that there was a mix up I told her I was fine but he needed what he ordered. It took over 20 minutes for his food to come out and he actually got up to see what was taking so long but the server was coming with his order. About halfway through eating his burger he noticed it was not fully cooked. He asked for a to go tea but instead the server brought a tea in a regular cup. By this point my husband left to go to the vehicle and I paid the bill and asked for a Styrofoam cup. It definitely wasn't the best experience. Do better guys. Write down the order and double check before serving your clients their food to make sure it is what...
