Drake's Duck-In — Restaurant in Columbia

After reading so many positive reviews about Drake’s I was really excited to have the opportunity to try it. However, unfortunately my experience was not nearly as positive as others. I got an ok amount of food for the price but it didn’t get much better from there. When I walked into the restaurant the first thing I noticed was the floors. They sadly looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in forever. I stood at the counter for only a couple minutes and I could feel the stick on my shoes, even walking into the restaurant the floors were so sticky and dirty they were dark brown and you could hear it clear as day. When I got home, which is only a couple minutes away, the chicken was crispy for the most part but the rest of my meal wasn’t great. Sadly the chicken tasted like absolutely nothing and I legit mean nothing. The breading wasn’t seasoned, the chicken wasn’t seasoned, it was the blandest chicken I’ve ever had. It also was super dry and not very tender. It felt like it had been sitting out for hours. The fries also were soggy and the portion was tiny for having to pay extra for a side of fries. The absolute worst part was there was bones in my chicken sandwich! I found three bones in my one sandwich. I can tell you with absolute confidence that the best part of my meal was the Coke. This place is not worth it at all. I was so sad that my experience was not as great as others and I’m not sure why that is. Horrible experience. A coworker and I (work across the street from Drake's) placed an online order for pick up. At designated pickup time my coworker went to get the order. Witnessed a customer return food b/c he was allergic to a condiment and was yelled at for doing so by the cashier. When my coworker attempted to pick up order- was told it did not exist (though my card had already been charged). My coworker left. I returned to Drake's with the receipt printed. Again I was told the order did not exist but since I had printed a receipt I they would prepare my order. They did not have everything I ordered in stock. I requested a refund for the missing item. This was given to me from the tip jar. When I was finally given food (multiple customers came in and ordered and left with their food after me) it was the incorrect order. Again I had to wait for my order. Other guests in the restaurant were apologizing to me for what I was going through. When I finally got my order one employee apologized for "the misunderstanding." I attempted to describe what happened but was continually interrupted by the employee who would not let me speak. I placed my order online at 11:15 am and did not leave with food until 12:05 pm. 3 employees in kitchen were not wearing masks- they were below their chin. I have frequented Drake's for years, I direct my coworkers and customers there, after today I will never return to Drake's and I will never recommend the establishment...

I went to Duck In for lunch on Friday for lunch. When I got to the counter I asked the young lady did they have any specials with just the wings without the fries. I’m cutting back on my starch so I only to purchase just the chicken. She told me that (4) Wings was $14 plus tax it would be $15. I was like say that again. This can’t be real, they have lost their minds if they think 🤔 going up for (4) Wings for $15 is even appropriate to be asking someone to pay. This is ridiculous Duck In. We will see how many customers are saying the samething..Good Luck with your price increase! I definitely won’t be back, it’s not worth it to me to me. I will take my business elsewhere that deserves for me to spend that kind of money!!

Response to Owner- I totally understand prices have rise, but again as I explained before it’s ridiculous for you all to have gone up almost 8.00 for a (4) piece wing with rolls!! Also, I have never came here to try anything else other than the chicken which is my main purpose for coming to your establishment. I have went to multiple fine dining restaurants and had no issue with paying for the food when it’s worth it. I’m still confused to why would you all be charging $11 for the wing snack with rolls before 10:30, but go up almost 4.00 for the same meal for lunch? To me that is price gouging.
