I had the WORST EXPERIENCE with them during the most joy-able moment of my life. I went to them for my baby shower cake and specifically asked before placing my order if they design fondant cakes. I was given a price ($150) and like anyone else, I began to shop around with other local bakeries to see which would best fit my budget. Well after finding out most of the bakeries were charging $150 and up for fondant cake, I went back to Sweet Temptations to place my order with them after hearing how delicious their cakes were.
When I went back to place the order, I sent out a picture of the cake design I wanted via email and provided my colors and other request I wanted done to the cake. After signing the contract, I was told a different price from before ($160), ok $10 difference wasn't a biggie.
The pick up day came and I was extremely excited to see my cake. When I arrived, I was presented a cake that was made with regular icing as appose to the fondant icing I requested. The manager and employee made it as if I didn't know what I wanted when I placed the order and that they were not told it was to be made out of fondant, and stated that a fondant cake would have been close to $200. Now, the cake I previously sent to their email address was made out of fondant. I told them when I ordered, I wanted my cake to look exactly like the picture minus the color and stripe pattern that the picture displayed. I was EXTREMELY upset at this point. How does a customer not know what they want? And for it to be a special day for me, of course I would know how I would like everything to be. After a long debate about the cake, I was given back $40. Seriously, $40, after paying for a $160 cake I did not ask for. I will not recommend them to anyone for any special...
Read moreThis is a another "business" who may have a decent product but is still trying to figure out how to run a business.... I ordered a cake via phone after 4 p.m. 4 days prior to the pick up date. When I went to pay the invoice a couple of days later I realized that same day I ordered at 5:46 p.m. my order was canceled... When I called to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me they confirmed that it was canceled because it had to be paid by 5:30 p.m. that day. I can't challenge their "policy" but if you don't communicate the "policy" is it really a policy? No one told me it had to be paid by 5:30 p.m. if they did I would've easily paid it. They them agreed to prepare the cake for an ADDITIONAL $20. This place's business tactics are a joke. Because I love my friend and did not want to disappoint her so I ate the cost but I cannot take this place seriously. I went back to read the invoice sent that didn't indicate ANYWHERE payment was due at 5:30 p.m. However, it did state payment due immediately but that's making the assumption that I immediately read the invoice. Which I didn't. The young lady on the phone said, our system has changed so I'll email you the invoice. That was it. Even with 3 more days before pickup and a little more than an hour to pay no one thought to follow up? You lost a customer when a simple follow up would help grow your business. I will not taste the cake nor am I interested in how it taste. Even if it tastes great at this point Sweet Temptations is equivalent to "my aunties em" who can bake delicious cakes. You have to get some business to...
Read moreI was very unimpressed. I was needing Chocolate Chip Cookies for work; Sweet Temptations didn't have any. Fine, I realize you might be out of an item. I was not greeted by the guy, with his back to me, sitting at the computer behind the counter when I arrived, I had to get his attention. The 'bakery' looked like a bake sale setup. Cookies, brownies, etc., wrapped in clear baggies on tables. A lady came from the back on her phone talking about she couldn't 'believe he did last night.' I asked were there any Chocolate Chip Cookies in the back. She held her hand over her phone and told me she wasn't sure. I asked how many people were working, and she said just the two of them. I left. Take the time and go to Silver Spoon on Devine Street or Main...
