I’ve been a regular at tin roof for years, I’ve never had any issues until the last 6 months.
In the last 6 months, I have been groped, I have been pushed, I’ve been overcharged and last night was the last straw for me. In the cases where I was touched inappropriately without my permission, I have told security guards, and they did nothing about it. It took them 2 hours to kick a guy out who was walking around grabbing multiple women’s breasts. Once a drunk man was not kicked out, despite him knocking a woman on the floor.
Lastnight there was an altercation with a older woman in line to get in, our group had a friend in line, once I realized we were holding up the line, 4 of us went to the back of the line and 2 of our party stayed back with our other friend in line. I saw the woman in line yelling at my friend so I went back & said to come to the back of the line with me but she said she was fine so I went back to where I was in line and met them inside. Inside I learned that the woman had called my friends whitetrash, commented on their appearance/tattoos and was harassed by this woman the entire time being in line. After getting a drink and settling in, I walked to the bathroom only to be harassed by the same woman who then looked me up and down and called me white trash as well and made a comment about my tattoos, this was extremely unwarranted, as I was not part of the original altercation. So I stopped & politely said that I hoped her night got better and it was a misunderstanding and there was no need to be hostile, the daughter thanked me and I did end the conversation with a slight dig to stand up for my friends, and told her she wasn’t one to comment on someone’s looks. Then later in the bathroom I was venting to my friend about the situation only to find that the daughters were in there. They made another comment and so I told them to leave us alone. As we left the bathroom my friend and I were singing the song that was on and dancing having a good time, we walked past their group again and I did not say a word, then the 6’ something husband comes up to me (a 5’ woman) and stands over me and begins to scream at me, I asked him to leave me alone and go away. He would not. Management finally pulled him away and then another man and woman approached and did the same thing. The group was removed from the bar and we continued to have a good night. I have a lupus, and I have to take medication at specific times, so I walked to the front and asked the bouncer if it was okay I went to get my medication and came back in and he told me it was okay. When I returned they would not allow my friend and I back in, despite our group still being inside. The group that was removed was still standing outside. I pulled the manager aside and explained to him what happened. I had 2 sips of a white claw and was very coherent. He was fine with letting us back in, as I am a regular and explained that I was told I could come back in. Then another manager approached and was extremely aggressive towards me, told me that the bouncer who said I could come back in didn’t work there and I needed to leave. I tried to talk to him and he wouldn’t listen to me, was talking over me and being incredibly disrespectful towards me. As I was leaving, another older couple from that group, was standing there filming as I walked away, the woman attacked me and tried to assault me. She commented on my appearance/body and caused a scene. Tin roof did nothing about that. Tin roof did nothing when the man was groping women. Tin roof did nothing when I told them a man touched me inappropriately. Tin roof serves drinks with dark brown and black particles in them and will not refund you when you ask to get another drink and will make you pay for two. This establishment used to be one of my favorite spots in Columbia, but has quickly gone down hill. I hope they can figure out a solution to advocate more for the women who get mistreated in the bar. I’m disgusted with how last nights situation was handled, as well as how previous situations have...
Read moreI am compelled to share my recent experience at this establishment, which was, regrettably, quite disheartening. My primary concern revolves around the behavior of the security personnel who, in appearance and demeanor, blended in with the patrons, causing confusion and tension. Their failure to identify themselves led to an unnecessary altercation, resulting in my forced removal from the property, separating me from my party and belongings.
Following the incident, I discovered multiple unauthorized charges on my credit card, for which I sought clarification and receipts. Despite my efforts, the staff were uncooperative, insisting that the person I needed to speak with was unavailable. This lack of transparency and accountability is deeply concerning.
Additionally, there were reports of inappropriate behavior in the restrooms, with female patrons entering the men's restroom and causing distress. This kind of conduct should be addressed by the management.
Overall, my experience was marred by security issues, inadequate customer service, and a troubling atmosphere. I strongly urge the management to address these concerns and prioritize the safety and well-being of...
Read moreUsually a good place to grab some drinks. Walked in and looked at the drink and food menu, and then a female bartender moved me aside forcibly with two hands without asking to access the register, and I said “hey would you ask next time, asking would be nice.” She then proceeded to raise hell and got other bartenders and bouncers involved and they kicked me out. I left without causing a fuss stating I didn’t do anything wrong. After I went outside and cleared my head, I went back up and I asked to speak with the manager and to apologize to the bartender for whatever I might have done wrong. Maybe she was having a bad night, it was pretty busy, but I have several buddies who intervened on my behalf to say I did nothing wrong (they were right there next to me). The manager told me the bartender was too busy and refused to hear me out or give me another chance. Everything was in one ear and right out the other. “You can just come back tomorrow night” I had drove down for the Clemson football game to hang with buddies, there isn’t a tomorrow night. I will NEVER be back. (Incident was...
