WILLIE'S 5STAR WING'S — Restaurant in Columbia

To start this review I just want to say that this was our first time visiting Tennessee and I’ve never been to Columbia, TN. My family and I were very hungry and my wife choose Willie’s because of the reviews. When I first turned down the street I felt a little unsafe because the buildings look rundown and it was early evening. When we first walked up to Willie’s we were greeted by some of the neighborhood people. We felt a little uncomfortable because who doesn’t feel uncomfortable around strangers in a strange neighborhood. When we first saw Willie’s I assumed the wings may not be that good but because we were so hungry I said let’s just try. Willie’s is the perfect example of don’t judge a book by it’s cover. The place was clean, the workers were very nice and the wings were great. I’m so glad we stopped in. They had the best buffalo wings I’ve ever had. And the ranch sauce was tasty. Love at first bite (literally, this post was made after my 1st bite). I heard about Willie's via word of mouth from my little local tap room (Asgard), and decided that if they had never steered me wrong about beer then I could trust them with wings, and were they ever right! Willie's is the perfect combination of Nashville Hot Chicken with awesome unique flavors. I'm not usually a huge fan of dry rub, but I do believe that Willie's has made me a cult follower after getting their Cajun Dry Rub. They offer the perfect crispy yet juicy chicken wing that I've ever had. I truly think that I may be in trouble, due to the fact that I believe that I will be eating here as often as I possibly can. You know the saying - don’t judge a book by it’s cover? I drove by this place on accident at 7:30 at night! But man. So happy I came. Coming from someone who’s been a server at a franchise wing joint in Franklin and at an Indian restaurant... the wings are perfect size for the price and the flavor is so good. Perfect level of spice for the average eater. Do not come and NOT get the seasoned fries either! Love them. On top of that, the people who work here are local! Columbia-native. And they’re the nicest people. They even gave me a couple of small samples of wing sauces to take home and try for my next visit.
