Bob's Bar — Restaurant in Columbus

The guys that I saw on Tuesdays night 6/4 is rude, I asked if he had pineapple Smirnoff and he said I'm always difficult, it's only my 2nd time seeing him, attitude much. He seems impatient. I bought 3 drinks; and tipped him well last time also 3 weeks ago and I'm pretty quit and keep to my self. Jerry seems discriminatory or biased , he always has a weird smug smile. Makes you feel unwelcome. I don't like him. No wonder you don't have many black people here. And polly old white dude accused me of not paying in front of entire bar, 2 nights before . Another bartender came to my defense; I gave my card from the start; as I always do. The other bartender apologised and ran after me outside to apologise for his co worker. Other bartender Cool dude. I come here to de stress. Not cool bobs bar. I've been here 8 times and spent $ 250+. Told friends about this this place also.

Edit: Date and time is 6/30/2024 at 2:32 am I was at bobs bar at 2:05 am and Paully verbally attacked while saying am I muk the one that posted the above review. He called me a liar and said it never happend and no one ran out to anpologize for his mistake; and that he was not serving me. He then the read the entire above review to the bar while basically tearing me a new one, critiquing each line and Making fun of me and basically calling me a liar and dumb for misspelling his name on review at the top . He also took my picture and said everyone will know. This man is flaky, I felt like he was trying to save his reputation any means. He also was making fun of me the entire time, I know I spent 250+ because I’ve been coming here since early may 2-3 times a week. “I know in his heart that Paully knows I was telling the truth he just couldn’t take it and wanted to save face by any means” no wonder he’s stuck there, dude was scoffing at me like he’s not old enough to be my grandpa, he could’ve just asked me change or delete review very immature of him ; he’s like a real life character of family guy. The bartender working with him tonight questioned me about it last week. He said he reads all reviews to protect himself; he probably told Paully who I was , because above Happend a month ago. Paully made me feel really unsafe and he was really unprofessional it was like he turned the entire bar against me , a few people followed me outside as I was leaving; he’s the old man with glasses and gray hair. I have the right to leave a bad review if treated unfairly, I don’t post a lot of reviews if you look my history. I started drinking in January. I might honestly consider legal action. This defamation on another level, and maybe a bit discriminatory, he could’ve handled this...

Yesterday [10-8-2022], I briefly visited Bob's Bar [also known as "The Cultural Hub of the Midwest"] at 4961 N. High St. immediately south of the Graceland Shopping Center.

Since my name is Bob, I have wanted to visit Bob's Bar ever since first having learned about that bar. I had not had the opportunity until yesterday to visit Bob's Bar because I am usually riding past there (1.) in a car [with someone else driving] or (2.) on a #2 [or #102] COTA bus [with someone else driving]. Neither of those situations has ever provided the best opportunity for me to visit there.

Yesterday had been a great time for me to visit Bob's Bar because I had been walking south from the Graceland Shopping Center, with sufficient time to briefly visit Bob's Bar, while on my way to an event at Mozart's Cafe [five blocks to the south].

I spent only eight minutes at Bob's Bar yesterday but very much enjoyed my brief visit.

I first took several photographs of the illuminated "1960s-style" "BOB'S BAR" sign above the front door and then entered the building. I told the woman behind the bar that my name is Bob [to explain why I had wanted to visit there]. I told her that I would be taking a few photographs for Google Maps; I then walked around for the next several minutes and took several photographs.

My practice, whenever I am taking photographs for Google Maps, is to include as few people as possible in those photographs. It would have been great to have taken a photograph of a small group of people playing darts though I chose not to do so. I did take a photograph of a not-being-used-at-the-time pool table because no people had been nearby.

I made sure to take a photograph of the huge "BOB'S BAR" sign that had been painted [using two-foot-tall capital letters] on the interior wall of Bob's Bar immediately inside of the front entrance; I also took a photograph of the wall behind the bar that includes an "Elvis-Presley-themed" neon sign.

The older bartenders are great but one of the younger guys is arrogant and Cocky. Brought canes to eat at a table, forgot I had my ice tea with me and took it back out to the car after the bartender yelled “I need those drinks, no drinks” which was my honest mistake but the aggressive tone wasn’t necessary and hadn’t even ordered before being yelled at from across the bar for my ID, they should invest in a door man if they run their establishment like that. After showing my ID I told them we were going to take our business somewhere else and he said “I still need to see his ID” and I said not if we are leaving. As we were leaving the older gentlemen apologized and the younger guy yelled “thank you guys, have a good night” so sarcastically. Sad to think I bragged about this place being so close to home and being a relaxed small bar.

I’ve bartended for years and the way we were approached by being “yelled “ at over IDs made me lose my interest in spending any money there. Tonight...
