When I visited this location on Saturday, November 1, 2025, I was shocked to learn that it wasn’t owned or part of the “1998 N High ST Columbus, Ohio” location.
Since this location was closer to me, I decided to drive there to buy some doughnuts. I was thoroughly lost for words at how this place was run. I’m someone who likes to scope out a place, and I blame it on my OCD. Lol.
As I walked in, I noticed a woman sitting to my right playing a game. Their daughter was sitting on the counter, which was “very unsanitary.” A child was also sitting on the back station area next to what looked like a drinking or coffee dispenser, which was also “unsanitary.” The father, who was also an employee, was playing a game.
Mind you, neither of the adults asked me if I needed help. They kept playing their game. The man in the work area had his pants sagging and his boxers exposed. After about two minutes, I asked if I could get some help. The woman told her husband, “You have a customer.” The man kept playing. After another minute, he came and asked me what I would like to order and he was that he was talking about his game. I said I had a gift card. The woman then said, “We don’t accept gift cards.” I asked if the restaurant was part of the Buckeye Donuts at “1998 N High ST.” He said, “Oh, no. We split from them years ago.” I asked if he was the owner. He said no.
He was nice and gave me a free red velvet doughnut, which was kind of him. The reason I asked if he was the owner was because I was going to address him on how the restaurant looked, his appearance, his nails, and his children being in areas that they should not be in. I was also concerned about the back area where the doughnuts were cooked and prepared, which looked horrible. It looked like black mold was covering the fryer, and I would be afraid it would blow up if I worked there. The floor was not cleaned.
I looked at the pictures other viewers had posted, and this day, I went and looked, and it didn’t look anything like those. I wonder if those positive reviews were from daytime visits and the day shift workers, or if the night shift and weekend workers have a different experience. Because what I saw, I will never visit this...
Read moreI bought $45 worth of donuts here. And then it went bad. You know those times. When you just want a donut. This was one of those days. I was north of Columbus. And heading back south. Yep! Missed my turn. Lol! But no worries. I was right on High Street. Which takes you back on 23. Columbus is my hometown. Where I was born. So I didn't mind going through the metal of the city. I was thinking of Jolly pirate Donuts. When I came to Buckeye donut. Which I have passed several times and never had stopped. Today was the day! I pulled in with wide eyes. When I walked in. I was glad someone was there taking their time ordering Donuts. It gave me the opportunity to look them over. Shortly someone from the back came out to help me with my order. I'm a big fan of long johns. Chocolate icing cream filled. Chocolate icing with custard and so on. I was told the Buckeye down that peanut butter and chocolate. Was a big seller. Sure! Throw me a few of those in there as well! I said. Wasn't too worried about how much it was. Again! $45 LOL! No worries. I was going to share. A lot! LOL! I was heading to Chillicothe. To one of my favorite places to eat. New Grand Buffet. Chinese food. In Chillicothe. But! I was still going to have a donut. And I did! LOL! I did stop and eat Chinese. Definitely recommend it! But by the time I got home. I can tell. Something was not right. I cannot have or tolerate canola oil. Or anything fixed in it. As I had to discover the hard way. Years ago. LOL! So! If you can handle. Whatever kind of Grease. Or whatever they used. To fry their donuts in. They were really good. At first! But for me. I will not be going back. I am.An experience. Reviewer. This is one experience. I will not be doing ever again. God bless you and yours. Love you boss! My eleven-year-old amazing wonderful son! Thank you for following. We have a lot! Of places to experience...
