Found this place on my way to Scamblers.
Review:
There is no parking lot so you have to park on the street in the neighborhood. Found a good spot and got a lil exercise going to the joint.
Went in and asked the lady with the red hair can I seat myself she says yes. So I went to a booth. I noticed the menus on the table with the napkins, condiments and two red bowls one had butter and the other had coffee creamer. My table was clean with the exception of a open pack of butter in the red butter condiment bowl which was gross but it could have been put there by the last patrons not sure anyway. The server was nice she came to me right away asked me what I wanted to drink.
I said coffee and she suggested I drink water as well. Which is a good thing I like servers that suggest things she came back with clean coffee cup. Hot coffee and clean ice water cup but no straw.. No issues there.
When I ordered I asked her what specials or deals they had going and she said that they had a lunch item on special and I asked about the Western Omelette that they are famous for and was breakfast still going on. She said you can get breakfast and anything on the menu. Love that this place has no time limit on breakfast, lunch etc.
I ordered the Western Omelette and hasbrowns with onions and cheese. The food was fresh and hot. The only thing I didn’t like is that they didn’t cut my toast and put it on a saucer. Also the cook brought my food to the wrong table. But people make mistakes....
I ate the food the Western Omelette was okay it was hot and juicy but I have had better Omelettes no pun intended. The server did suggest the pancakes I think I will try the pancakes next time but overall it’s a good spot to check out and maybe return to every now and again.
The PRICES ON THE MENU ARE SUPER CHEAP!!! YOU GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH AND ALSO GET FILLED UP.
I give this place four stars for friendliness and also for the hot fresh food and super low prices... Also it’s BLACK PEOPLE FRIENDLY!!! That’s...
Read moreThis might be the best breakfast I've ever had in Cbus. Just a fair warning if you sit at the counter: a regular (older man with a beard) might try to pull you into unsolicited conversation. Be prepared to have to shake him off hard.
Though he seemed nice, I excused myself early on stating that I really wanted to go back to reading my book, but only a minute later he started talking to me again, even while my eyes were still in my book, and never stopped. And because the seats are so close together, there was pretty much no space between us. It was also busy, so there was nowhere else I could sit; I was basically his captive audience. I planned to stayed longer and sample something sweet after my meal, but rushed through instead and refused all coffee refills offered even though I really wanted one.
The staff are great and the food is so good that I plan to go back, but will wait for a table from now on and maybe also try to get there as soon as they open (I was there from about 10 to 11 on a Saturday). I only include all this because this regular eats there 2-3 times every week, and apparently makes other customers uncomfortable as well ...an employee deeply apologized as I was checking out even though I'd said nothing about it (which was very observant and kind -- she also offered to go the coffee refill I had to skip,...
Read moreOne of my most favorite places to hangout in German Village and Columbus. Pretty much has become an every weekend/weekday haunt when we can place, that I have been coming to for YEARS now! A very relaxing down to earth old school diner with great breakfast as well as other menu favorites such as burgers, sandwiches, and fries/onion rings. They get produce/meats locally from other businesses as much as possible including the thick cut bacon that is hard to turn down! Even though the food is great and they still keep the prices lower to reflect the diner menu; you'll never be disappointed with their portions sizes including their plate size pancakes. They also do a rotation of specialty flavor pancakes monthly or you can order one you customize yourself. They have great soups too but only available on weekdays unfortunately. You'll keep coming back, if not for the food...it'll be for the atmosphere and the staff who are always amazing. It's not a fancy restaurant but you won't care. It's a locals spot and they'll treat you like one of their own. Not big on space but big on heart. And yes there tends to be a wait when you come to eat here and there's a reason. You'll meet the best people both staff and patrons; have great conversation and make friends. These people are like family, I...
