Update....... We went back today! We ordered appetizers and they never even came. Then we were notified after 30 mins that the order never went through. The waitress asked if we wanted to resubmit it. I told her no cause it will come out while dinner is being served. We went through 2 Servings of nachos waiting. So we order and waited another 25-30 mins before we were served. By that time I wasn’t hungry and my kids were ready to go without trying to finish their meals .Our server Kerry was very compassionate at first cause she kept on apologizing . I asked for a manager and let him know how long we’d been waiting and how the food was overdone. My steak was so hard you could barley put a fork in it. So they made another. I just had it packed up. I was really upset. The manager only took a 10% off at first which took off like 6 bucks. Big Deal! Eventually he just comped my meal. Which was fine with me. My kids started to get very anxious to leave and my 2 year old was getting rowdy and he pulled on a blind. Of course I didn’t realize it cause I turned my head for a second and was trying to pay what was owed.Instead of my waitress notifying me so I could correct him . She blurted out loud don’t pull on that. If you don’t alert me so I correct them you should be able to speak calmly to children that are not yours. I tried to hurry and get done because at that point because all my patience was getting ready to leave. My children rarely act out in public is what I had to explain to her. My children are usually well behaved in public. Then she came to the conclusion well they did get dinner late and they are tired that’s probably why. Before I left she asked was I pregnant because I was holding my stomach? I told her no I just have lots of swelling after surgery with my last baby. Needless to say she apologized. I will say Thanks Chili’s for an awful night! I’m upset and embarrassed. Truly awful service once again!
Old experience 7 months ago:
Have a family of 7. 2 adults 5 little children. Only came here cause we thought our table at Olive Garden would take forever. We asked to sit in a booth cause cause our children are small enough for us all to fit and also so we don’t possibly disturb others also. The hostess said because of state requirements they would have to sit us separately and not all together. We all live in the same household so that makes no sense. They gave us a spot in the middle of the dining room at a bar like table with really high chairs which is not the safest. Our waitress took a while to come out and greet us and ask for a drink selection. The menu wasn’t very interesting. What really topped it off is that when I asked waitress before we order is it possible to split the bill 2 ways basically guys vs girls.I know corny but whatever lol. She told me it would be to hard to do. Soon as we got the text that a table was ready at OG we were really relived. We paid for drinks and still tipped and got on our way. We went to OG and they sat us all together, understood our concerns and were very prompt with service. Don’t think we will be...
Read moreGreat service and very good food! Long time Chili's fans, but also since moving to OH, have not visited Chili's very often, like 3 or 4 times in 10 years! Chili's finally opened a restaurant in Polaris, darn close to home. Glad to see, but some reviews featured the common refrain of Polaris restaurants, "average to OK food, service abysmal" right to the front. We have several of those experiences with Polaris restaurants, but hey, it's COVID time so we have seen improvement in service even from some very service challenged restaurants we have visited in the last 4 or 5 years. Personally, we have gone from dining out a couple of times a week, to maybe monthly restaurant visits. Just the way it is now, the whole COVID 2020 experience. BTW, not a fan of the whole carryout/delivery experience. Average food in a bunch of plastic containers at my table at least an hour after it was prepared, isn't the least bit appetizing to us. I can make it myself, and dine hot and fresh. BUT, about Chili's! This was pretty darn good visit. I concede Monday at the start of the dinner shift may have improved the service time, but Chili's fans know their SOP is usually they won't seat until they can hit their table clock. Though we read some reviewers that indicated they had a much different experience, with long waits for food and service. Not good at all! So we arrived, seated immediately and were greeted as soon as we picked up the menus. Our server, Zack appeared to be working a light station, but he definitely made us welcome, and never missed a beat in making sure we were well taken care of. He displayed very good menu knowledge, and he asked all the right questions, to make sure we got exactly what we wanted to eat. And we got beverage refills without throwing a glass at him! (Or politely requesting, as is our SOP!) The food is pretty standard Chili's fare, well crafted and tasty, pretty basic stuff. And it was well presented, even if the presentation has evolved thru the last decade or so. I am baffled about FFs being served in their own pseudo fry basket, but it must have an astute reason, probably something to do with portion and cost controls, or maybe something esoteric like service marketing image. Also, don't expect anything that could be handled by another guest, like a ketchup bottle, or pepper shaker. All of that is a single use packets now. Fortunately, Zack brought us exactly as many as we needed, with much time devoted opening and dispensing our correct amount. All told, our Chili's visit was excellent. Service was superb and the food was tasty, if not remarkable. We will definitely be returning, perhaps even before our monthly time table. For a Polaris restaurant, in the challenge times of COVID, we rated our dining experience 5 stars. We certainly hope that your experience is as...
Read moreSadly, we will not be returning to this location. We were a party of two and typically enjoy visiting the Dublin Granville location. However, since it was very busy today, we decided to try this location based on its 4.1 Google rating (which we now question).
Experience Summary:
Hostess and Seating The hostess was inattentive, and another staff member (possibly another hostess) ended up seating us. Her demeanor suggested reluctance about seating us where she did, which, in hindsight, should have raised concerns.
Service Initial Contact: It took 10–15 minutes for our server to approach us, only to let us know she’d be back shortly. We waited another 10 minutes before placing our order.
Drinks: Our Sprites took 10 minutes to arrive, and The Merry Maker (happy hour drinks) came 10 minutes after that. Unfortunately, the merry maker was underwhelming and not worth the wait.
Appetizers: The chips and salsa arrived, but the salsa was watery and unpleasant. A staff member explained the entire batch made earlier was watery, which was disappointing.
Food Delivery and Server Interaction Entrées: Our Limited-Time Smash Burgers arrived within 10 minutes after our drinks, but our server was largely absent throughout the meal and failed to check on us. Other staff members delivering food were more attentive.
Post-Meal Service: After chatting with another group for 15-20 minutes, our server returned, noticed we were out of drinks, and promised refills and a to-go box. We waited another 10–15 minutes before the same staff member who seated us brought the boxes, and someone else brought the refills. By then, we no longer wanted them and just wanted to leave.
Positives Parking: Convenient and easy to navigate. Table Payment: The table device allowed us to pay quickly, saving us additional waiting time.
Overall Impression While the food was decent, the poor service made it difficult to enjoy the meal. It’s worth noting that we observed other tables with attentive servers, so experiences may vary depending on the staff. Unfortunately, our experience fell short, which is why we rated this location 2/5.
We recommend visiting the Dublin Granville location instead, where the service has consistently been better. Additionally, for convenience, you can check in online using the Chili’s app—a helpful feature we discovered on...
