China Buffet — Restaurant in Columbus

I like a decent chinese buffet this simply is a bad buffet and I very much hesitate to call it chinese.

First their vegetables lo mien wasn't bad it wasn't great but was the main food positive, the mens bathroom was clean although very poorly and cheaply maintained. Their other dishes, a peppered shrimp in shell dry not worth the hassle to peel and it wasn't hard to peel it was just that it was not appetising. Their mongolian chicken if I wanted lughtly breaded chicken slices fried with some green pepper and onion slices I can get that and would eason the dish. BbQ chicken slices, i was expecting something akin to korean bbq not just baked chicken slices lightly basted with kc masterpiece. Fried rice clumpy and oiley. Baked salmon well it was decent, not great just decent. Baked Shrimp, If someone tells you they think taking a ground pork meatball seasoning it only with 20 of the meatballs weight in italian breadcrumbs and then wrapping that around a Shrimp to bake tell them no. If it was a decent sausage it would have been ok. If you just want to coat your shrimp in a fat and bake it its good. This was bland textureless meat stuffing to get to shrimp that had lost the essence of shrimp. Sweet and sour chicken.... Yes the sauce was sweet and sour. It wasn't a happy flavour though. The breading soggy the chicken tepid. Pea sauce muscles, eh not horrible, the pea sauce as long as you got the fat and spices from the top layer and stayed out of the gritty burnt pasty second layer of the sperated sauce it was ok, don't get muscles that have been soaking in the second layer it tastes like they are full of grit sand and poorly made hummus. Don't stir the sauce together its just a bad idea the top layer of muscles are in no way improved by anything from the depths. Butter seafood delight.... I don't think you can mess up blooming a clove of minced garlic in butter then using the butter to poach fake crab and shrimp. Highlight of the night. Eggroll over fried greasy interior. Onion pepper chicken see Mongolian chicken above less pepper make soy sauce based sauce/gravy... It wasn't offensive it just wasn't good. Fried chicken, see churches now make it 1/3 as good. Crayfish... Bad just tasted like the dirt vein of a shrimp bathed in cajun spices, i like crayfish these looked like they would be good but simply weren't. There were a few other random chicken dishes that looked like they might be standard Americanized Chinese fare, none of them were memorable...

If I had the ability to give 0 stars, I would have done so. I have NEVER been to a restaurant so nasty in all my life. The floors looked like they hadn't been swept for several shifts! The tables and seats were dirty and when I asked for the table and chair that my family was going to sit at be cleaned the lady responded by asking "me?" I said "yes, or is there someone else I should ask?"She asked us to go to a different table and stated that the floor under that table needed to be cleaned. After going to a different table (trying to find one less dirty than the rest), we asked again for it to be cleaned. She went to the back, got some wipes and tried to hand it to my mother. Of course my mother wouldn't take it and asked the lady if she could go ahead and clean it. She did so but with an attitude. After completion, we thanked her (three of us...meaning three thanks yous) but she wouldn't say a word.

We decided not to stay for the simple fact that it was dirty and no one wanted to clean. With COVID being a thing, we felt it was safe to assume that if they allowed their dining area to be that dirty, the kitchen was probably worse behind that closed door.

These people have no care in the world about your dining experience or even sanitizing but are of course still accepting your money and not at all following any sanitation guidelines.

Went in for the lunch buffet. They make you pay before you can even see the food, which makes sense, cause the only reason I didn't immediately leave 3 minutes in is cause I already paid my $8.

Tables were dirty, glass paneling was dirty, mold all over the walls and vents, everything just felt very unclean and this place desperately needs a visit from a health inspector.

Very limited selection. The food wasn't hot. The chicken was yellow from soaking in grease. Chicken was also pretty much the only available meat aside from 1 beef dish, fake greasy crab, and "baked shrimp" which was just a shrimp tail inserted into what looked and tasted like buttered and fried cat food. Everything was mostly just greasy breading in various sauces. You do get free drinks with your meal, self serve from the old and unfortunate looking soda fountain.

Saw another review here saying they had the "best garlic bread in town", and it was okay. Kinda cold and soft. The French fries were also undercooked.

Staff wasn't bad. Wasn't great either. Only interacted with the 1 person who takes the money when you walk in. No other employees even came near my table.

Not a good time. Very disappointing. However, on the bright side, I am definitely no longer hungry.
