-The food was fine, not exceptional, but definitely tasty. We ordered one of the hot pots and it was an INSANE amount of food. Could feed 4 or 5 comfortably. The quantity of the hot pot was obviously adequate, though a bit bland in flavor compared to other Korean hot pots I've had stateside. 4 out of 5. -The appetizer (forgot the name) was as authentic as they are when I eat them in Korea, -5 out of 5 for sure and definitely the best part of the meal. -The free veggies looked great, tasted okay. 3 out of 5. -My biggest and only true gripe was the service. It was truly, truly awful. The host and server both were rude, looked unhappy, and were unresponsive to any questions or common (useless) courtesy banter that we are all used to in restaurant environments. I never had such poor service in Seoul, even with my worst experience. Thought it was just a bad day for both of them, but sure enough our party sees them chatting and having a jolly time with everyone else, who are clearly regulars. That's not okay at all. I gave up after I realized what was happening and didn't even try to do the formalities of small talk anymore. Took the food to go and paid my bill. Service, 0 out of 5. -I've lived over 4 years in various Asian countries and this is unacceptable service everywhere. They only show face to regulars and treat unfamiliars with unfair hostility. I'll never go back. Korea House, just 10 minutes away, will be the only Korean food I eat when I visit Columbus from now on.
-4 out of 5 without the awful service. -2 out of 5 with all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to the grill area for the first time. Says one meal one side (soup) We have to order two meals at least so they can start the grilling. I order the egg drop soup that comes with the meal I order and my partner order the soup too that comes with the meal. She brought the cart full of dishes without the soup we order. Start the grill, have the soup but we donāt have the drink yet. Two bowls of soup only one spoon. She didnāt come back when we need the napkin and chopstick. We asked the guy in the front can you get me... and he said give one second, after 10mins the waitress didnāt come and the guy said give me one min didnāt want to see us too š. So we got up went to kitchen area found the spoon and chopstick yay! And napkin š . Another 10mins the waitress came asked everything ok. I said now is, we got your napkin spoon and chopstick from around your kitchen area. And she said ok š . . Never expecting high service in this place. My suggestion is you guys make sure exactly what you want before the waitress or waiter go. . By the way we still got charge for the soup I ask, even it said per order got one side dish. . I asked but she said something Idk, I wonāt argue. Just 3$. We still tip good thouš. . Hope it help you guys. Whoever wants to come here. . But food was gooooooood...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrom an Asian perspective, the rating I saw and heard from others made me want to visit this restaurant and give it a try. I made reservations for a table of 9. We drove from Harris County GA. So we had high hopes for what the top reviews gave this restaurant. Just a side note. Our taste buds are biased since we've grown up eating Asian cuisine. The appetizers, yakimandu & gyoza were crunchy with excellent fillings. The small dishes of fermented vegetables except for the broccoli were good. The hot bowl bibimbap had a great combination of flavors. I wish my egg that usually sits on top of the rice and vegetables were sunny side up and not fried. I did not realize that the bowl would be at a burning hot temp and would make the rice on the bottom continue to cook so crispy. Of course, my parents loved that crispy crunchy rice. The japchae had the expected flavor, but the noodles were too mushy. The bulgogi entree and Mongolian beef tasted so much alike. My mom got the soup with fermented soybean, clam, pork & tofu. She was not a fan. Ate 3 spoonful. Overall, it was not the worst food we ever tasted. Just the texture and consistency of food were not to our liking. But everyone taste buds are different, so at least give them a try and judge...
