Grandview Grind — Restaurant in Columbus

I have to give major kudos to the marketing department of this great local coffee shop. They value their customers. Not only do they have a rewards system that keeps me coming back (I live in Upper Arlington and Crimson Cup, Whole Foods and Colin’s Coffee are my closest coffee shops) I come to Grandview early in the morning when I’m barely awake because I get stars 🌟 ⭐️ 💫 lol. And I also get emails when I haven’t been there in a while offering me a discount to come back! And it’s not a little discount it’s like $3 off! I also love they have “happy hours” and the environment is really great. All the baristas are friendly and know how to make good lattes. I love they welcome me back and remember how I like my drinks (half milk, half half n half lol) it’s not a huge shop but it’s so cozy and comfortable and they have yummy treats (like the “That Cake”!). I love this place!!! While in school, this shop was my go-to for studying and for a great cup of coffee. Their baked goods are solid too. It is cozy and usually quiet enough to study with outlets at almost every table. The guy i saw most regularly (i think his name is charlie?) makes the tastiest drinks although expresso drinks are reliable and consistent taste-wise. On certain days there are some locals that get together and come in to play bluegrass music - nothing formal, just jamming for fun. I really loved that about this plac . I also enjoyed the art gallery and took notice every time a new artist was featured. It is something i looked forward to seeing every time i made a visit. I do really love this coffee shop, they have a great assortment of coffees/teas/smoothies and really cool artwork available for purchase, and stay open late.

I can't get over how much single-use plastic is used here compared to other coffee shops, however. When customers order hot coffee to eat-in, they receive a plastic cup even though they have so many mugs available. I truly don't understand this, it seems like the staff is just being lazy. They don't have glasses available for cold drinks, so they gave me a plastic cup that had one of those openings for drinking - but still gave me a straw for some reason? There is no recycling bin available so all these things end up in the trash. Please do better...
