We have been eating there for a long time and the food has always been fair as has the customer service and cleanliness! Yesterday, we had to call Police because when our food arrived at our table, it was not what we ordered. The waitress said, "chicken teriyaki?" As she was placing my husband's shrimp and rice in front of him. She then placed the chicken teriyaki plate down on the table in front of me. We both told her, we did not order chicken, we ordered steak! She said, "yes you did, here it is" and sat it down on the table. I said, "no ma'am, I ordered Steak". She was very rude and said, well you were charged for chicken, if u want steak, it is $1.08 more". My husband gladly gave her a $5 bill and she stomped off back toward the counter, still accusing me of ordering chicken. I followed her to the counter and asked if I could just get a refund for my steak dinner? She said "No! There are No refunds, we don't give refunds"! She pointed at the sign on the wall and said "can't you read?, there is the sign on the wall, No Refunds". I said, "ma'am? It was your mistake? Your saying you won't give me a refund and it's ur fault?, it's not what I ordered?" I asked to speak to the Manager and she said she was the Manager???My husband was still sitting at the table waiting on me to eat when I said, I'm leaving! She didn't give me my food nor did she give him his change from the $5. I walked outside to the truck and called Police. So, now, we are both in the parking lot waiting on Police. When Police got there, they escorted us inside. The Officer asked her what happened and she gave my husband his $5 bill back. She never offered me the chicken or steak! Our drinks and his shrimp plate were still sitting on the table. She refused to give us a refund. She took the teriyaki chicken plate back and never cooked the steak plate! We left with no food or money! So, we...
Read moreI was excited to visit Hibachi Express, a restaurant I had frequented in the past. However, upon entering the establishment, I was immediately struck by the strong smell of cigarettes emanating from the kitchen area. This did not bode well for my dining experience.
As I made my way to the front counter to place my order, I was disappointed to find that the dining room was empty and in a state of disarray. The table we were seated at was sticky and unclean, so we had to move twice to find a suitable spot to sit. The cleanliness of the restaurant was severely lacking, with smudged and greasy windows, petrified rice and vegetable pieces stuck in the cracks of the booths, and cobwebs and dead flies in the corners of the window. To top it all off, an ant crawled across our table as we were getting ready to check on our order.
Furthermore, the employees at Hibachi Express seemed to have little knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices. I witnessed a customer return a bag of food to the front counter after coming from the drive-thru, and the employee who received it then tried to serve it to us at our table. This is a clear violation of health code regulations and a serious threat to the safety and cleanliness of the restaurant and its patrons.
Upon leaving, I noticed that Hibachi Express had scored an 88 on their most recent health code inspection, with several violations marked against them for failing to meet TTS measures.
It is clear that this establishment needs to make significant improvements to their hygiene and food handling practices. I would advise potential diners to do their research before visiting...
Read moreComing out of the pandemic is difficult for many families and businesses. This appears to be the issue for this restaurant. This has been one of my favorite restaurants to purchase meals from for 10+ years. This is no longer the case. My wife purchased two meals for us one month ago that did not meet their standards. And tonight 6/25/2022 failed to meet the mark once again. I purchased three hibachi chicken entrees. We received plenty of food like normal. And the prices are very reasonable. BUT the yum yum sauce was watery, suggesting that it had been sitting out beyond the suggested time. That scared me. I threw them in the garbage. And to have to request napkins and eating utensils from the DRIVE THRU is a policy that does not make common sense. I spent $30+ for "to go" plates and the business cannot place the appropriate number of eating utensils and a couple of napkins per plate??? Their policy is to provide you with one yum yum sauce per plate. Your policy should should be the same for eating utensils & napkins, too. There is another restaurant closer to my home serving a very similar menu. I have eaten there before. It's good. However, I try to be loyal to the establishments that have proven/show they appreciate your hard-earned $$$. Now my family's hands are forced to take our...
