Moonbird Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Columbus

I love coffee but can be apprehensive about trying new cafés because I have a severe allergy to all nuts, so cross-contamination is a serious concern for me in this era of alternative milks (looking at you, almond milk!). Adding additional pause for me is the encounters I've had with cafés in the past looking at me with contempt or like I had horns sticking out of my head for politely requesting they use new pitchers, spoons, etc. and sanitizing their steam wands to minimize the risk any potential traces of allergen remained.

I saw this place on a random TikTok video someone made about coffee in Columbus they liked and decided to give it a go due to its proximity to me and the photo of the vanilla latte with cinnamon I saw looking down right irresistible.

In my case (and that of everyone else in this city with a nut allergy), I am pleased to say that Moonbird has no nut milk options to choose from -- whole, oat, and half & half. That's it!

I ordered a vanilla latte with a dash of cinnamon on top to-go, and man... it was down right delicious. My only complaint is the hot drinks come in a single size -- 12 fl. oz. I guess I'll have to order two at a time from now on! 😂

The people running the operation were soft-spoken and polite as all get-out.

I think Moonbird might just be my new regular spot whenever I need caffeine during the week (they're closed on weekends) and don't feel like doing my own...

What a breath of fresh AIR Moonbird has brought to Columbus!! It’s the cutest lil’ coffee cart in Grandview. Plenty of parking and easy access. Candice is a kind, talented gift to this earth that puts her absolute heart into making some of the best coffee I’ve had in town.

The stand out is the Mystic Rhythm iced coffee: double espresso & your choice of milk with a rich, salty brown sugar syrup, topped with Diaspora Co cinnamon & freshly grated nutmeg. Bonus points for being able to order it decaf because I’m a caffeine-sensitive baby.

AND! They do seasonal bevs, so you’re not narrowed down to the same drinks indefinitely ((though those drinks are straight fire so that’s fine too haha!))

AAAAAAAND they have a VEGAN waffle-on-a-stick that is TO DIE FOR.

Moonbird is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the customer service was impeccable. A special shoutout to Candace—she went above and beyond to make sure my experience was perfect. Her friendliness, attention to detail, and genuine care for her customers truly stood out.

And the food? Incredible! Every bite was bursting with flavor, but the highlight for me was the waffle on a stick with apple pieces. It’s the perfect balance of crispy, sweet, and fresh—a delightful treat that I’ll be dreaming about for weeks!
