Great option if you're a novice to working out and want someone to walk you through it. It's 100% a cardio workout (even the weight lifting portion, because it's so fast-paced). So don't expect to build any muscle. I was returning to working out after a long hiatus and wanted something to jumpstart my return, I found that I wasn't building any muscle, and I never felt sore after a workout (I like feeling sore because then I feel like I pushed my muscles, not just my cardiovascular system). So this want for me but it might be for you if you just want a cardio class. Lastly their scheduling system is pretty awful. You used to be able to sign up for a class at a specific time and wait-list yourself for a better time on the same day (then switch classes if the better time became available). Trying to do this now can penalize you with a $12 fee per class on top of your membership fee (even if you have unlimited). The extra fees and lack of strength training are why I left after 2 months with their...
Read moreI went to the Grandview OTF, I really liked the classes and they gave you a really good high intensity one hour . The prices are high you get 4 sessions to use in a month for $60.00 that is the cheapest. You have to do at least two months due to the cancellation policy. You can go with out a heart monitor and then you will not know your statistic etc.. You can rent on every time you go in for between 5-10 dollars depending on which kind you want to use. OR buy a monitor which cost $100.00. My frustration came with having three different people all giving me a different answer to the same question regarding cost and membership. I may still join the basic membership but I did not join the night I was planning on it because of all the conflicting information , I did not know who was right and I was pissed so I left telling them I would think about it and decide later. I called the manager but no return call.

Read moreI am biased because I work here BUT being a part of this community I have made almost all of my friends, other staff members, studio members, and friends of friends that I made through orangetheory… life long friends that I now call my family and go on vacations with. You might not join to make friends but it will be why you stay! I think people who avoid orangetheory do so because of the perception that it is expensive. If you’re comparing it to Esporta or Planet Fitness it totally is, but that’s comparing apples and oranges (lol). Think of it more like a large group personal training session. Compared to a personal trainer or other studio fitness environments, the price is right on target. (Also to drop into just one class is expensive, the memberships are a lot cheaper than that.) I would recommend this workout to anyone! First...
