TL;DR If you like pulling $50 out of your pocket and burning it, you might like this place.
Pat and Gracie's? You mean Fat and Greasy's.
For a place with such a limited menu, you'd think they'd know how to make one of the few things they have.
Maybe they just can't handle the lunch rush?
Perhaps the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. And that says A LOT. With all the high ratings, I'm genuinely confused.
Took forever to get food.
Ordered fried pickles. Missed reading the part where it said they were bread and butter pickles. Ok, first of all, you get a lot. But the batter was dark and they were stuck together. Looks like they need to change their fryer oil. Maybe they would have been better if using fresh ingredients. Overall, we prefer dill. I can forgive not liking something, but even visually they were disgustingly unappealing.
When the entrees came. Omg. Ok. My fries were served in a PUDDLE OF GREASE. Old fryer grease at that. You know the fries you get at the fair? Well saturate those with old grease before serving and you got Pat and Gracie's signature fry recipe.
The burgers. Ok. The burgers. First of all. Have you wondered what it'd taste like to put a white castle patty on a giant bun? These burgers were so tiny, I was expecting Ashton Kutcher to come bursting through the kitchen doors, yelling something about us being PUNK'D. Sadly, he never came.
Mine was a BBQ burger. Came out room temp and BURNT on the bottom (there's supposed to be two patties... well the bottom was so burnt the second patty stuck to the grill or something because there was a patty and a crumbly quarter patty. ONE DOT of BBQ... And the sauteed onions were COLD... Like straight out the fridge cold!!! GAG! Worst burger I've ever been served concerning presentation, quality, quantity, temperature and taste.
The other half had the signature recipe puddle grease fries and I think his burger came out warm. However, again, just one measly dot of BBQ on the bun as a joke, I guess. Had to ask server for refill. She was nice but why refill one cup but not the other? Weird.
Anyway. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. When we left, we couldn't help but notice we smelled pungently of... Guess what... An old greasy stale fair french fry.
I should have asked for my money back. But I prefer to take the easy route and chalk it up as a loss and just never come back. But we had some good laughs on the way home joking about our awful experience. Wonderful trauma bonding... We will...
Read moreWe drive 1 hour and 11 minutes to eat here, basically for the zucchini fries! We ordered two chicken cobb salads and asked for extra ranch. The ranch comes in a small half size ramekin for a dinner salad and possibly wouldn't be enough for a side salad. Also, our salads should have came with cheese as listed in the menu, but neither salad was made completely and the cheese was left off. The toppings were also very limited and scarce. I had basically weeds, fried tenders and cucumber with a taste of dressing for $17.49. The zucchini fried were good as always, however again we needed an extra side of ranch, because the tiny ramekin you are given isnt enough for two people. Our zucchini fries were proportioned small and almost half the size as the tables next to us. We literally drive over an hour for these and we basically had a "taste" verse an appetizer. Zucchini is cheap and for $10, I was appalled at our portion size. Again, compared to the table next to us, we look like we asked for a half size appetizer. Lastly, our bill came and we were charged for 3 sided of ranch. Yes, we did as for additional ranch for the salads and one for the zucchini, fries. However, the kicker is that each ranch was the same tiny ramekin size and I was charged $.75 for one, $1.00 for one and $1.50 for one. How can you ask for 3 sides of ranch that are the same exact size and be charged three different prices? What's worse is the server heard us questioning it, but never attempted to resolve the issue. It super unfortunate, but when I saw the table next to me leave with one bite from a burger and two bites from the salmon blt and left with no boxes and noticeably annoyed, I knew this would probably be out last time visiting. Good zucchini fries are hard to come by, but driving that far only to be charged numerous prices for the same side of ranch and mediocre sevice is not it for me.
Also, beware of the male bartender/server with glasses around his early to mid 30's. During our last visit he charged gratuity to a party of four, even though the menu says parties of eight or more. Then he proceeded to tell us his handheld wasn't working properly so we didn't see the gratuity he added. Of course we then tipped him 22% only realizing as we were walking out that he stole a second tip from us. Keep an eye on your bills for random different charges for the same items, for extra gratuity unknowingly being added and for credit card fees not being addressed prior...
Read moreI ate a pleasant meal yesterday 10-8-2022] at Pat and Gracie's Kitchen x Tavern at 138 Graceland Blvd. in the Graceland Shopping Center.
I had previously eaten at Pat and Gracie's [in the "Discovery District" of downtown Columbus so I had been expecting a similar menu and dining experience yesterday.
While both of these restaurants have the same "trademark" large red chandelier in the centers of their dining rooms, these two restaurants are actually quite different.
While I had been hoping to be able to choose among several different entrees [that I had remembered very clearly from the other restaurant], the menu at Pat and Gracie's Kitchen x Tavern at 138 Graceland Blvd. is primarily [at least in my opinion] sandwiches though there are a few other options [including several different salads].
My food choice for yesterday had been Pat and Gracie's Fried Bologna Sandwich: "a thick sliced (Falter's) fried bologna served on a butter-toasted bun topped with sweet and spicy mustard relish, Swiss cheese, shredded leaf lettuce, and house-made dill pickle; served with your choice of side."
While certainly delicious, my Fried Bologna Sandwich had been impossible for me to eat without using a knife and fork because it had been at least three inches tall. My "side" had been "Hand Cut French Fries" that had been a nice addition to my meal.
I had been at Pat and Gracie's Kitchen x Tavern during an "away" OSU football game. While the traffic on the streets outside of the restaurant had been relatively light [so traveling there and back had been fairly simple], Pat and Gracie's Kitchen x Tavern had been filled with boisterous football fans the entire time while I had been there.
If you are at the Graceland Shopping Center and are looking for some delicious food, I recommend Pat and Gracie's...
