Smoothie King — Restaurant in Columbus

EDIT: 10/3/24 I recently had dental work and needed something easy to digest. So I caved and went to SK. Thankfully, the young people working were nice to me. And the smoothie was delicious like it used to be. Which was so comforting after having a tooth taken out. I got a smaller size to save money. So I am now raising my stars to 3 stars. I might just come back again.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Sad to say, after 15 years of getting smoothies from here, i will no longer be getting smoothies from SK. The prices are outrageous!! And the smoothies are not as good as they once were. Paying $10 for a smoothie, it should be amazing. And it was flavorless. HUGE disappointment to pay so much for something so gross. (I also got 2 enhancers, which made my smoothie $12!! Insane!!!!) And even if it was good, i can not justify that price anymore for a DRINK. I was devastated to hear the owners of Macon Road SK bought this place. It will only go downhill from here. This was (past tense, WAS) the BEST location to get smoothies at. They were always delicious, well made, and had the best prices in the area. I would make the extra drive just to come here because it was worth it. But now, i will no longer be coming here. I'm not wasting my money on gross tasting smoothies when i can make them better...

The employees were very rude . No one greeted us as we walked into this establishment. I had to actually speak just to get my order because they were too busy having personal conversations which appear to be more important then doing their job. Out total was 15.16 I gave the young lady 20.16 she then try and hand me 4. 99. I replied huh and she replied o never mind( as she is putting the change back in the drawer.) I said I gave you 20.16 and my total was 15.16 she replied uh huh. I said the same statement again as obviously math isn’t her strong point. This time she looked at her co worker who is equally confused. I then said you gave me 4 dollars. 20-15 is 5 . She then gave me my change. After not being greeted, having to wait while they finished their conversation and then having to help them with basic math. I asked to speak to the manager. The young lady who made our drinks was the “supervisor “ I said mam what is your name? She replied we don’t give out our name, but I was already reading the receipt to see why this young lady and the machine couldn’t count. So I replied but kayla name is on the receipt and she replied that’s not me. Maybe smoothie king can take a lesson out of Chic - Fil-A book and not place a bunch of teenagers in a place...

Being that we are both vegan we are very picky about where we eat and what we consume. We get smoothies from smoothie king all the time. This one is ran by teenagers, and lack knowledge. No adult supervisor role checking in to make sure things are right. Walk in and no one is in the store, all kids are playing in the back laughing. 3 times now they have gotten the drink wrong the first time the young guy that’s works there says “I didn’t even know how to make that one.” Have had to return smoothies and for $7 you should know how to make them correctly. No taste, watery and if you watch them they just throw random amounts in a blender. Staff is rude. People buy food because they like it and you should take your job seriously when it comes to things people consume. I know what these smoothies should taste like.
