I have been to two separate shows at The Bluestone one pre-pandemic and one post. Both shows have hands down been my least favorite concert experiences ever…and I’d consider myself avid concert goer who has been to a ton of different venues. First off, there needs to be signage or something on your website stating a $10 cash only parking fee. I didn’t even see a sign stating this when pulling into the venue. And the first concert I attended here did not have a parking fee at all. Luckily I had emergency cash on me or I’d have been SOL. Second, you should probably figure out your air system because it seems like only one tiny spot in the venue actually had air conditioning. I understand it’s an old building, but you’re asking for medical emergencies with how hot that place gets. I even fainted during an opener at the first show I attended there because of how hot it was and ended up leaving, missing the artist I came to see. Third, as other reviewers have mentioned, the acoustics are all over the place depending on where you stand. I go to a lot of concerts so I have a habit of bringing ear plugs, but if you’re looking center stage, get ready to have your ear drums blown out. Lastly, if the show you’re seeing is an even remotely popular band, expect to feel like the venue is over capacity and to have no good view of the band unless you’re tall or arrive extra early to get to the front. I hate to leave a review like this for what could be a really cool venue that isn’t one of the big name ones in Columbus, but it needs some serious work. I get so disappointed when I see my favorite artists are having a show here and typically opt not to go or go to a different tour stop. I walked around the entire venue to try to see even a sliver of the band and the only place I could see them was in what I presume was formerly the baby crying room back when it was a church…but do the math…the sound is terrible behind that glass. Pictured are a few positions throughout the upstairs and I was holding my phone all the way up in the air just to see if it could even see the band.

Me and my now Husband had our wedding and reception at the bluestone and could not be happier with the experience. Here's a list of the things that the Bluestone did that made us feel like they went above and beyond for us!

I got dubbed a "Bridechilla" because i'm not a huge wedding person so I didn't care about a lot of the responsibilities the bride has in wedding planning, which of course can be an issue during the planning process lol. I basically gave the bluestone random arrangements and items for the centerpieces and other decor and said "do whatever you want with this, It doesn't matter to me as long as it looks decent." And so they did, without any hesitation or response, and they made the venue look incredible. Looking back at the pictures, they even decorated with things I didn't even know I had to decorate with!

Unfortunately, we needed security for our wedding because we were anticipating crashers (historically violent and malicious estranged family). Thankfully, the Bluestone comes with a security guard! They also gave us the option of hiring off duty police officers, after I gave them details of the people we had concerns over. We ended up only using the security that came with the venue. Their security officer was AWESOME. We did, in fact, end up having one of the suspected people try to crash the wedding, but no one ever knew it happened, and I didn't even know until the night was over, because he was so quick to grab her and have her removed. When she was kicked out, she tried to call the cops to crash the reception, but security met them at the front door and explained to them that the person who called was an disgruntled, unwelcomed guest. So no one knew the police showed up either! Flawless work by the security guard on thwarting the problem!

They let us bring all of our items to the rehearsal the night before and leave them there. One of these items was a 300 pound arch made of railroad ties, that they let my dad in early so he could build it on the stage. After the event on Saturday night, they let him pick it up at his convenience the following week. All the other items were able to be left over night to pick up the following monday as well. The arch just wasn't picked up monday because we needed a team of people and the right vehicle to pick it up.

The day of, they told us they could have someone there to let us in as early as we wanted. When we got there, the doors were already open and ready, and there were at least 2 people that were in sight ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT for anything we needed. They didn't hover, but they intentionally nearby so you could always find them when you needed them, and we were never without a drink!

They'll ask you what you'd like to have waiting for you the morning of so you can get ready. All I asked for was coffee, but we showed up and found not only did we have delicious hot coffee ready to go, but we also had bottled water, various types of soda's (off the top of my head I remember coke, diet coke, sprite), orange juice, and champagne for mimosas. They also supplied cups, ice, and champagne flutes for the drinks!

I asked for a signature drink a week before the wedding, and they happily obliged, and even went out and bought all the additional items needed to make the drink itself.

THE FOOD! The apps are all awesome (we had none left over!), but so was dinner! We were so happy to find it tasted good because we're so used to going to weddings with dried meat and bland dishes. Their chef is great!

The coordinators! I started with Sarah, but ended up working mostly with Jess at the end because Sarah would be unavailable for the week of our wedding day. Both women were awesome! Jess is honestly a great coordinator, but also just a great person as well. When I had to have the embarrassing talk of the "unwanted guests", she was so caring and worked diligently to show me that they would do all they could to keep them from ruining our night, and she followed through! We are so thankful!

I could go forever, but this is the...

This is hands down the BEST wedding venue there is. There is honestly no reason to look anywhere else! I could write a novel about how amazing this place was for my wedding. We had around 200 guests (even some who forgot to RSVP...really - and Sarah took care of it no problem) every single guest commented about how there was some kind of magic in the air and that our wedding was the perfect mix of elegant and fun thanks to the Bluestone. The staff is unlike any I have experienced. During our wedding the staff made sure everything was perfect, even when a guest knocked over a large vase with a candle (wax everywhere) and busted it, Sarah's staff had a brand new vase and candle in its place before I came down the aisle. I didn't even notice, I was told after the fact! Matt who works there was so incredible - he found a pillow for my grandfather's back, helped my family friend with arthritis down the stairs and made sure she got to her table and got anything she needed. We found out these things after the fact - and so wish we had a way of thanking him for his above and beyond kindness!! A guest even lost their cell phone and the staff ran around until they found it! A wonderful waitress named Deb also made sure my parents were taken care of with drinks all night long, she was so sweet and even joined us on the dance floor. The staff made sure the bridal party had everything they needed the entire night. Centerpieces are one thing I totally obsessed over and wanted to be so perfect, I was nervous about not being able to set them up myself when they turned over the reception, however, the staff made my centerpieces EXACTLY as I wanted and every single table looked perfect. They even take care of all of the clean up and place all of your things together so you can easily come pick it up the next day and just enjoy your wedding night. The BEST part, is now one of my bridesmaids and one of my husband's groomsmen will now be getting married at The Bluestone, so we get to experience this amazing venue again and we could not be more thrilled!!...
