When you first arrive at this location, the part of town feels a bit sketchy. While the location isn’t far from some of the city’s attractions, not the best location over all. Walking from my car to the hotel at night, left me feeling uneasy. I also didn’t trust leaving anything valuable in the room when we’d leave. Upon entering the lobby, it looked like it would be a nicer stay than anticipated from the location. Staff was moderately friendly at the desk, but seemed annoyed to have to work. We got checked in, and came up to the room. Stepped off the elevator and it was a completely different vibe than the lobby. It felt like we stepped way back in time and it was so outdated and run down. Trying to keep a positive attitude, we proceeded to our room. We opened the door, and I was underwhelmed. The room size is nothing to brag about, and the bathroom is kind of cramped. The closet with somewhat broken doors housed an iron with a severely worn out ironing board. The bathroom shower contained a partially rusted and nasty panel that provided a natural water feature when the people above us showered, that would also get water all over the bathroom floor. The bed is ok for comfort, but with very thin pillows, it was a rough nights sleep. Made a trip to the ice machine, just to find random socks laying beside it. Hotel is definitely not kept up with, and I’m thankful to be leaving after one night. I would definitely splurge for a nicer option before booking here ever again. Looking closer in the shower, we are pretty sure there was black mold as well. Very disturbed and disgusted by this location.

REVIEW INTENDED FOR LOST LANDS FAM! Chose this hotel as soon as the dates for Lost Lands were available. Check in was a breeze, and I got a spacious room with a view of the rear of the hotel and parking lot. For your consideration, the Columbus shuttle buses normally pickup around/in front of the commons, which is 2 blocks over and is a sub 5 minute walk, but this year (2024), they parked one block closer, which helped me drag my shattered self back each night. The rear parking lot gates are open each day, meaning you can walk around the hotel and out the back onto the street for the buses. But upon return, they're closed, so you need to go through the front entrance. As I said, room was nice and spacious, but the real godsend was the shower. Decently sized with a good shower head with different power settings to wash away the dust and dirt. (iykyk) My one complaint was that the roof isn't particularly high up, so I couldn't quite stretch to wash the armpits, but that's really a non-issue. Dove branded amenities are provided in the bathrooms (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash), and they have a small selection of amenities to buy in the lobby. Upon check out, they were kind enough to phone for a taxi for the airport. Overall, this is definitely the best choice for any Lost Lands fam looking to stay in a decent hotel and shuttle in each day.

Ok rooms but you're paying more for the location than quality. While the rooms were *clean, they need a hard refresh. Walls and carpets need changing, especially the carpets. Mine was disgusting with stain marks everywhere. The bathroom shower leaked constantly on top of being way too close to the toilet. They were close enough to Nationwide arena to walk back from the concert and there are a few bars and restaurants around it. Parking was cheap also, $12/nt. The staff was friendly, answered my questions and let me keep my car there after checking out for a few hours. I didn't appreciate housekeeping knocking on my door before 9am. I know I forgot the sign but dang. My view was anything but through the dirty windows. They have a restaurant, pool and other amenities, but I was only there for one night.

The staff has one nice person oh and a bartender who works the bar and the entire restaurant smh busts her behind and for that i give a lot of respect. The one at the desk was barely seen. Male at the front desk needs serious training. Lack of empathy and just respect or common courtesy. Or common sense for that matter. Asked for pool towels because there were none only to be looked at as if I was ignorant and told "they are in the pool area" responding with "I wouldn't have asked if there were towels there.." for him to look at me crazy, huff, and be like well I'll be there in a minute then and walk off. Ate at the restaurant with the kids(it says kids under 12 eat free) please be aware they do not unless you are a member of their rewards program although they don't state this and you can only find it in the fine print at the very bottom of the kids menu.. except I am a rewards member and was still charged for 3 kids after buying 2 adult entres. I was never asked until I said something about my bill and then was asked if I was a memeber when I said yes it was adjusted after going back and fourth between the restaurant and front desk.. but they don't and won't tell you that so be aware. It also states 2 children per adult entre its 1. As a professional chef myself I was beyond disappointed that upon ordering we sat for over an hour waiting on our food(2 orders of tenders and fries and 3 burgers one being a kids burger) for my burger to still be mooing. We were the 2nd table to order btw and it was pretty much empty when we sat down. It was cooked on the outside of but raw throughout. Even more disappointed that someone serving people would even think that was ok to serve and be in the hospitality industry. You're going to kill someone! Didn't even bother to complain as there was no point. Instead I offered to go back in the kitchen and help. As they clearly need it. but this place is garbage for the price.. Our room was ok but nothing I'd rave about. The plug in the bathroom had a piece of metal broken off in it so you couldn't even use it.. trust there are way better places to stay... welcoming and with staff who have sense and training in hospitality.. This is one I'll never return to again. Mind you I was referred here because one of the kids having emergency surgery in the morning.. would've been better off sleeping in a car and eating at McDonald's.. shame on you as an establishment. Hire more people and definitely need lots of training all the way around. If you don't like a job in hospitality then change...

Generally the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, however, the general state of the property is tired and needs some serious upgrading and some house keeping improvements. We would have recommended this property in the past, but not after this visit. Columbus is a great city and this hotel needs to pull up their socks to compliment the downtown. Our room was again, generally clean, however, the corners of the carpet in the room needed to be properly vacuumed. All the lampshades were badly damaged and all the light bulbs in the room were different. The USB charging station at the bedside did not work. The shower curtain rod was broken and the curtain would not stay in the tub properly, so we were constantly moping up the water on the floor. The electric plugs in the walls were worn and the plug points were constantly falling out. One of the elevators was not working... long delays in securing an elevator at times.... the service elevator was working for the guests, however, it was disgusting.... dirty and scratched ... did not really like riding on this device and we were sharing it with the staff constantly. The breakfast in the main floor dining room was poor. All the food was stone cold and they were running out of food constantly. The gentleman seating the guests was turse and rude. We waited till our meal was finished to get coffee and juice. Although these items may seem insignificant, they were annoying. The owner of this property needs to re invest some of their profits and update and clean up the property and get their staff better trained. We have stayed at this property several times and this experience was the worst. We must say that the outside grounds were very well kept and looked very nice. Re adjust the priorities on...

The bathroom had raw sewage leaking from the toilet. It was documented by staff. I contacted IHG and this location said they would refund the money. Everything is documented by IHG. Even though I was promised a refund, I never received. I contacted IHG over 6 times and each time they called this location they would not pick up or respond. I was told to dispute charge and did. This location fought it, and I still have not received a refund. I've contacted IHG again and they are trying to contact them again. They are certain they will refund me, because they have documentation from the manager stating that he would. This has been going on for 4 months now. Very frustrated at the time I have put into this and still haven't had any real results. Also, I would not stay here again, even if this hadn't happened. The hotel rooms look like they bought an old Spr 8 hotel, remodeled the entrance to the room and bathroom, painted, and put in new furniture. They kept the old carpet, and the room looks rough. Not what I would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. I am shocked they are allowed to use the name. If you expect Holiday Inn Express, don't stay here. If you want to pay Holiday Inn prices for a stay at a Spr 8, you've found the right place.

I thought I would leave an update. It has now been 6 months and I have given up on the refund. IHG has not got this hotel to refund the money even though they say that it should be. I have wasted a lot of my time on this and give up on this company. I will stay with a Holiday Inn one more time to use my points, I will not spend a dime on it. After this, I will never stay with...
