We are in Columbus Ohio for a softball tournament and rented a house a couple hundred yards from this restaurant. We were thinking just something close. Must say we were surprised. The food is excellent here. I ended up getting a bacon cheese burger and fries because I wasn't real hungry. The burger is probably one of the best ones I've had anywhere. If you like your bacon crisp, you'd better ask for it to be crisp, because they cook it medium. Which was fine with me. The fries were also the best. I'm not a fry guy, but I ate every one of them. Seasoned great. I also ate a couple of the bbq wings my daughter had. I'm kinda snobby about my wings, but these were really good. Had like a hint of Bourbon flavor. Also the Buffalo Mac and cheese is a great flavourful dish. A little spicy but just right. And there was an appetizer that was like a Buffalo chicken dip that looked like hummus that was perfect and I could have ate a gallon of it. They didn't have sweet tea, sobi had a coke. But it was coke that had enough acid it felt like it could eat your face off. So that's a perfect coke. ‐------------------------------

But the most stand out thing was this. We went in the 2nd day in a row because we had been at the ball field all day. We walked in and our server from the night before walked up and had all of our drinks ready. He remembered us from the night before. He also remembered what we ordered the night before and asked us if we wanted the same thing. Dude has a great memory. This is a must stop in Columbus. We will definitely be back, since we go to...

All in all the food was great and they had a nice selection of beer. I would have given a higher score but the service wasn't the best. What I observed was the regulars get great service. It seemed like the female bartender knew almost everyone that came in and they got hugs and plenty of attention. When we arrived it was about half full and most of the high tops were reserved so we sat at the bar. We got our first drink and our menus pretty quick but no one checked on it for about 20 minutes and if I hadn't waved someone down to take our order I wonder how long it would have taken. We weren't in a hurry so I wasnt really worried but I did notice the regulars that came in after us got more attention and quicker service as a result. Once our order was in we actually got our food pretty quick. I ordered the burger and it was cooked to perfection! It was really good! I do have to say this is the first place I've ordered a burger that didnt provide condiments for customization and maybe that's because the chef intends for it to be eaten as it is created but they only provided an aoli for the fries and I'm not a fan, I much prefer ketchup with my fries but I couldn't see any anyway, not one table had ketchup and the bartenders never checked on us again until the food was gone so I ate my fries dry. Luckily they had great flavor but I would have preferred ketchup. I recently moved into the area and I like to support local businesses so I'm sure I'll eat here again. Maybe if I become a regular I'll get better service...who knows. But the...

If it was possible to leave zero stars I probably would. First I'd like to start off by saying this review isn't in terms of the food. While I wasn't overly impressed with the menu the food was alright. This is however possibly the worst service I have received out of any bar in Columbus. I met a friend here for dinner and waited almost 15 minutes... not before someone came to the table with water but before I got up and went to the bar to request menus and drinks. I should also mention there was not a lot of people in the bar at this time and the staff was sitting around drinking. After another 10min the bartender finally came over to take our order (still no drinks) and she smelled like a distillery- she was obviously buzzed at the very least. We ordered simply (salad, appetizers) nothing that would have had to be cooked other than fries... it took almost 45 min and we had to ask to have our food checked on. During this time my friend ordered a drink and asked for it 3 different times because she kept forgetting. We were half tempted to walk out and go somewhere else but as we were getting up our food came out... normally I see it as a point to only be reviews for good service because you never know if somebody is having a bad day but this was clearly not the case. The staff was unprofessional and yes I understand working at a bar you may drink but you should never be drinking so much that you can't do your job. So if you're looking for some place with good food and good service I would say avoid olde oak...

BBQ MAC + CHEESE?! Say Less. We checked out The Olde Oak in Olde Towne East Columbus, and let us just tell you, this place is a GEM. We tried the Street Corn Esquites, BBQ Mac + Cheese, Buffalo Chicken Wings, and their Texas Burger. If you’re craving some real good comfort food and refreshing cocktails - this place will quickly become your new fave. Laidback and unassuming at first glance, this neighborhood resto-bar will dazzle you with its stellar food. I'm particularly fond of their namesake burger, their Mexican street corn esquites dish, and their brunchtime waffles. Nonetheless, every single item offered on their menu is outstanding, made all the more remarkable by its overall affordability - which makes it very feasible to eat here on a routine basis without breaking the bank. This combination of affordable pricing, stellar food, and friendly staff has positioned the venue to grow into a sort of hub for the Olde Towne East neighborhood. My only critique would be its slow service, a result simply of minimal staff. Not ideal for patrons on a tight schedule during their lunch break - but an unexpected benefit to those who simply wish to socialize, relax, or study in the space without necessarily being pressured immediately into purchasing something or spending money. I appreciate this laidback vibe, which has resulted in an eclectic but consistent clientele comprising folks from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds and income brackets. The very essence of what a bar should be - a place for all to enjoy without the stress and pretentiousness that I see these days throughout its rival bars across the street.

Nice, big, spacious bar with high tables, low tables, complimented with alike seating. Delicious signature drinks accompanied with cool music and a great crowd. Delicious food and excellent service. Thank you to Johnny and Alex. Celebrated two birthdays at The Olde Oak and it was the perfect setting. Parking lot across the street as well and meter free parking on the same street. One pool table available and the interior decor is a work of art. I have been visiting The Old Oak at least once a week and the experience is always memorable. The crowd and staff makes this bar welcoming and it’s always a blast.
