I frequent this establishment often. I have attempted to purchase alcohol (I’m pushing 50) at which time, Dave the first time, Patty the second, demanded ID and immediately tried to scan it. With identity theft what it is, and the fact that we have no idea where this personal information ends up and no one can tell me, I was uncomfortable about it and I know my rights. As a result, I don’t allow them to scan the id. They can just type in the birthdate (again, no question that I was more than old enough).. Patty began screaming at me, even after the mgr confirmed she could input the birthday (WE HAVE PRIVACY LAWS AND RIGHTS FOR A REASON). Patty stated she was “just letting me go” and intended to continue her current erroneous practices. She was loud and rude and embarrassing as well as DEAD WRONG. We used to go to this specific wawa location because they sell alcohol during this season, and we were highly disappointed as how we used to purchase alcohol here and all of a sudden we cannot purchase alcohol. There was never a certain notice that we need to have a state ID. We have been loyal customers for a long time and this is how we get treated? Yet we never had this issue in past years, us hispanics are the ones who consume the most and we are the least heard. I was having one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong, but her positive attitude and willingness to help really turned things around.
