I ordered my lunch on Doordash, it was the carnitas taco plate, 3 tacos with rice and beans. - For something so expensive it turned out to be very unappetizing. - One taco was ALL FAT and no actual flesh meat, I checked. The 2 remaining tacos that were about 60% meat and 40% fat were not seasoned at all, they were bland. - No salsa, no hot sauce, no lemon or lime, nothing to add flavor to the tacos so the whole meal was a waste. My Dash driver said that when he arrived to pick up the food, that the restaurant told him to wait 15 minutes - he said this is not typical of most places. Usually the food is ready for pickup when the driver arrives. So this delayed my delivery time by almost 20 minutes, which as a result shortened my lunch time at work down to 10 minutes. Next time I hope they will have the food ready on time for the next person who orders online. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because the Platanos Machos (plantains with cheese and sour cream) were the only good thing left to eat. They were OK but it's hard to mess up sweet plantains so they met basic expectations, however the bean dip puree that came with them was WATERY so I recommend not getting/trying that either.
I won't be ordering from here again because all of my tacos had LARGE chunks of fat-gristle in them that would not pass as actual meat in any universe. The texture of the carnitas/pork was a lot like a ball of mucus and phlegm that you cough up during cold/flu season....
Read moreMaybe I'm just unlucky, but I was hit with a trifecta of unfortunate events ordering from here. I ordered online directly from their website. 20 minutes later, I arrive at the restaurant to pick up my order, only to find out that they hadn't even started on my order yet, because they "just finished up some other orders." The restaurant was completely empty, so I don't believe that for a second. I left to kill some time before heading back again 15 min later, where I found out they still hadn't started on my order because they don't serve the meat option I chose for my burrito. Then why have it as a selection when ordering? And this entire time, why not just give me a call to let me know? I had to enter my phone number when ordering online anyway, so they could've called at any point! I come back 10 min later and finally pick up my food, and when I finally bite into it, not only is it cold, the tortilla is soggy! They clearly had it sitting out for the entire time I was waiting while they were confirming the meat choice, instead of preparing it fresh. I waited almost an hour for a cold, mediocre burrito. Not to mention their tortilla chips were stale and salsa cups only half full.
What a disappointment and a...
Read moreFood was good. It was three of us. We dine in and got three orders of the birria tacos, two tacos for each of us, and three drinks. On the menu, it says the order of birria tacos includes two tacos and a consume. For some reason they gave us two plates when there’s three of us. The first plate had two tacos and the other plate have four tacos, and they gave only two consume. And we had to ask for another plate. We were tired and hungry, we didn’t bother to ask for our other consume. Customer services and common sense is not there. If there’s six tacos in total, it’s obvious that you put in three different plates right??? We didn’t eat until we wait till we get the other plate. We did two separate transactions. I paid for my boyfriend and my order which was the two birria taco orders (4 tacos with cheese) and one drink. I did not pay tips and it was supposed to be $19.43 but they charged $30.69 instead. I normally go to Tacos El Patron for birria tacos, but on that night they were closed for remodeling, so we decided to try Canasta Kitchen. I will not be coming back here....
