Not impressed. Went there today only because Kevin's Pho Noodles was closed for Chinese New Year. The wait staff - 3 Korean women have never seen humans before. The 4 of us stood at the door for 5+ minutes, smiled, waved, tiptoed - no reaction. There were two 4-seat tables available. There was a party of seven before us; they said they'd been waiting for a while to be seated. Finally one waitress came close enough for me to sound out "can we get a table for four, please?" She stared at me, then at the two empty tables, stood there completely mute, no reaction (Kim Jon Un, take note: Invade S. Korea anytime - they won't notice🤣). She looked at me, then the tables...again. I said "can we have one of the tables?" After more blank stares, some older waitress yells something in Korean, then she motions to me and nods. FOOD - I ordered the Bi Bim Bap (Korean national dish probably). It was a large bowl of rice, a couple of thinly sliced meat, some shredded veggies, a tiny fried egg. It was dry and tastless. I emptied 1/8 bottle of sriracha on it so I could pretend it was edible. Not worth $13 + tax. Oh...the party of seven left before being seated - the nerve of some people! Been there once, 15 years ago. I couldn't remember why I never came back,...
Read moreWe went to the restaurant on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. We ordered bulgogi, broiled mackerel, and spicy chicken. The table next to us had ordered just before we had. They brought out the man's regular teriyaki chicken and placed it in front of him. We overheard him complaining that he had ordered the spicy chicken. They took his chicken back and within a minute brought out an order of spicy chicken for him. They then brought us our bulgogi and mackerel, but our teenage son's order of spicy chicken did not come out with our order. After a couple of minutes, an order of teriyaki chicken was placed in front of him. I reminded the waitress that he had ordered spicy chicken. Less than five minutes later, she returns with spicy chicken. The order looked fine, but my son said the chicken was very dry and hard. After having received what appeared to be the other table's reheated teriyaki chicken and returning it, I am guessing that they took the chicken back, rinsed it off, recoated it in spicy sauce and reheated the chicken a third time. The bulgogi and mackerel were fine, but we already were feeling suspicious about the quality of the restaurant. We will not...
Read moreI need to start off by mentioning that I do not know a lot about Korean cuisine. We also ended up at this restaurant because the first 2 we tried had 45-90 minutes wait times, and were more of a destination for a Saturday night out. This place had plenty of seating available at 8pm in Park 'n Shop and was definitely casual, family dining. I ordered the Dolsot Bibm Bap, and my boyfriend ordered the Bul Gogi. The Dolsot was so f-ing hot for the first 20 minutes I could not eat it! Also, metal chop sticks are heat conductors with burning hot serve ware. Stupid and dangerous. I munched on all of the condiments that came with the Bul Gogi while I waited for mine to cool. The glass noodles were tasty, the red pasty stuff was really sweet and yummy. I tried the white, jello-cube looking things but not sure how that should be incorporated into a dish. Oh well. When I could finally eat my Dolsot Bibm Bap the rice was nice and crispy at the bottom, and the whole thing was delicious. I added the kimchi and red pasty stuff. I will definitely eat here again when I am hungry...
