All we wanted was a great coffee. What we got was anything but that. We surely didn't expect to be treated the way we were or to experience the kind of harassment we received at this Peet's in Concord, CA.
I saw the poster of the Salted Caramel Mocha and thought it would be great on the cold day we were there. I asked the cashier to add two shots of espresso to the medium drink, since I had running around to do for the holiday season. When she "repeated" my drink by saying "iced caramel mocha?" I thought , "oh well, it's the holiday season, don't correct the hot or cold mistake, just roll with it..." So, I agreed. (reminding her of the two "add shots", however.)
My boyfriend asked for the same also; paying almost $12.00 for the two drinks.
When we were given one hot drink and one cold drink, I was a little confused (being that he ordered the same thing) In any event, I was looking forward to the whipped cream as the poster clearly showed was in the recipe. When he told me there was going to be a $1.00 extra charge for adding the whipped cream, I had to question the charge.
The Barista, the leader of the pack, loiudly proclaiming she was "the whipped cream police" , graciously put a small dollup on my drink saying I was lucky to get even THAT (since the drink regularly doesn't get it) but she'd be so kind as to allow for it TODAY, as she shooed us away with a sweeping hand gesture.
As the three workers mocked and clucked behind the counter, other patrons looked our way to see who these employees were barating, loudly, but "under their breath".
I took a sip and it didn't taste right. After a heated discussion which included referring to the poster behind the cashier, the reluctant admission that the drink was rung up as an iced caramel macciato, and being asked to leave the store if we didn't want to comply with their rudeness, we left.
Horrible service with a rude, clickish team that made the wrong drinks and then bullying from the baristas with rolling of the eyes as I asked for a copy of my receipt; all add up to the worst experience I have EVER had. ANYWHERE.
If that is how a Peet's allows their employees to behave, then I must wonder why ANYONE, anywhere, is unemployeed. Just go get a job there, they obviously don't care about their product or their customers. Anyone can work there; No skills necessary, either in customer service, product knowledge, or even common decency
I will never again, ever, go to a Peet's Coffee & Tea. I will never again, ever, subject myself to the kind of bullying we endurred. I'm hopeful that no one else, ever had to, or will have to, go through that again. Stay out of Peet's in Concord and there's a good chance you...
Read moreExtremely slow service; cashiers and barista (only 1 person makes the beverages no matter how busy it is) are rude and disrespectful if you have questions or concerns. Ordered med. green tea match latte; received barely 40% of the beverage, 60% was very bubbly foam. Returned & requested a complete med. beverage, not just 40%; order #2 was made the exact same, only 40% of the cup was actual beverage, 60% bubbly foam. Got back in line, so as not to force the many others to wait any longer only to have cashier glare at me. Cashier snapped at me loudly, 'we'll remake your drink AGAIN'. Tried to reason with her only to have her speak loudly over me, gloating when I stopped speaking. Quietly stated I did not appreciate her attitude when the other cashier stepped in and stated because she did not hear the entire conversation, asked me 'what is your problem?' I started to explain I've never received only 40% of my beverage here...and she then cut me off and refused to allow me to continue. Then contradicted herself by stating loudly, "oh and she didn't have an attitude; I was here and heard the entire conversation". What conversation? The cashier was the only one speaking loudly and refused to allow me to speak; a conversation is when more than a single person takes turns, civilly speaking. Other customers made their dissatisfaction with their behavior known, so I was finally allowed to complete a sentence, which was 'no foam, please'. The barista cheerfully thanked the waiting customers for their patience and loudly announced they would have to continue to wait, as she now has to remake this order AGAIN. Contacted Peet's Customer Service to report this. They have...
Read moreAs an avid customer at peetes it is of great shame for me to leave such a low rating at this establishment. Though after my most recent experiences here i have finally decided to leave a comment that truly describes what i feel for this particular location. As mentioned earlier in my intro i am an avid customer and have travled all over the US and stayed as loyal as bonnie did to clyde with peetes coffee, though i have been tempted by the green mermaind i never turn my back on peetes. Recently I've had two very unpleasant interactions at this location. Upon entering the buisness the clerk looked like she had just finished casting for the joker sequel, her professional demeanor was poor and her speed to take the cash was as if she never passed second grade math, the manager that looks like al from als toy barn in toy story 2 looks confused and distraught at all times i have gone. a simple vanilla latte took over 25 minutes to get served. They move as is if they were wearing 25 pound weights on their ankles, there is no order, discipline or encouragement to process the order for the paying customer, it brings great dissatisfaction to see this. Not to be rude but im sure my 9 year old nephew who is missing both thumbs and has a broken ankle could serve drinks faster. To my misfortune this is the closest peetes there is to my home and as a retired veteran who has nothing i have no choice but to go here for my only form of transportation is my feet. as much as i hate to say this i think i might finally give the green mermaid a try after 12 loyal years at peetes. thank you for your time and...
