This little hole in the wall restaurant, away from the central business district is a real find. I’ve driven by it 100 or more times and today was the first time I stopped. Wow.
The restaurant is not that big as viewed from the street, but they have a lot of parking And good signs so it’s not difficult to find. Inside the restaurant is decorated with old world charm. Lots of murals and artistic work to enjoy.
We were seated immediately and drinks were on the table before we knew it. The menu was a little long so we had to get used to it And ordered a chicken and sausage dish and lasagna. The soup and salad came along with it as did the delightful freshly made bread knots.
The pasta was perfectly cooked and the Alfredo sauce was to die for. The sausage was just right and not spicy. Added to the green pepper and onions made a perfect combination. My only complaint about the meal was there was way too much food.
I sampled my wife’s lasagna and have never had a lasagna that tasted that good. The pasta was right on target.
My only comparisons are Olive Garden and pizza shack. When you consider both the food, the service and the cost, Joe’s Italian restaurant has batted 1000 against both Olive Garden and pizza shack..
The server was right there when we sat down and was back every 5 to 8 minutes just to check to make sure we had what we needed. Everybody was friendly, the restrooms were clean and I have no recommendations for improvement.
When we couldn’t eat anymore, and we were ready to leave, they brought us two, aluminum pans with tight fitting lids to take home the balance of our food. Also, they gave us a paper bag and a plastic bag to make it easy. We were treated like royalty. We packed the food and the two remaining bread rolls and left very satisfied.
That evening, I wanted a snack so I took my leftovers out of the freezer and put them in the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes. It heated the food to a perfect temperature and it tasted just like it was fresh in the restaurant. Rolls also.
Obviously, we will be back to try some new and different items. We highly recommend Joe’s Italian restaurant to anyone wanting a great meal at a reasonable price with authentic Italian...
Read moreGood Food Marred by Delivery Issues
This was our first experience with this restaurant, and unfortunately, the delivery process did not meet our expectations. We opted for delivery to our hotel, ordering a pizza and spaghetti. The restaurant uses a third-party delivery service through GrubHub, and this is where the complications began.
The delivery was not executed as instructed. Our order was supposed to be handed directly to us, but instead, it was left outside our hotel room door. Due to a lack of accurate updates from the GrubHub app, which continuously indicated that our order was still in transit, the food sat outside for an hour without our knowledge. By the time we were alerted to a delivery issue by the app and contacted GrubHub, we were informed that it had already been delivered an hour prior.
Upon discovering the food, we found it cold, which was disappointing, though it still tasted good. When we reached out to address the delivery issue with Grub Hub, seeking at least a refund for the delivery fee since the service was unsatisfactory, we were told that a refund was not possible because the order was not placed directly through GrubHub but through the restaurant's online ordering system via Yelp which made Grub Hub a third-party vendor and for that reason they do not refund.
While the food itself was satisfactory, even when not enjoyed at its best due to the temperature, the delivery experience significantly detracted from our overall satisfaction. We hope that the restaurant will consider addressing these issues with their delivery partner to ensure that future customers receive both their food and service that meets expectations. Despite the logistical hiccups, we would consider giving them another try, hoping for a smoother...
Read moreNeeds to be on Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours to Hell and Back! We had heard such positive reviews from neighbors that we stopped in a few days later for lunch. From the outside it does not look appealing, but the reviews were great so we went on in. Inside it looks like it was a fast rood restaurant in the 70's and had major work done to make it into a restaurant, but those updates look dated now, maybe they were done in the 80's or 90's. The hostess seemed to be in a trance or on a sleeping pill. I do not know if she could have moved or talked slower -- or seemed to care any less. The waiter was great -- high energy, friendly and professional. The food, not good. First they brought bread as soon as we were seated. I saw seasoning on it and thought it would be a treat. No, more like something from the day old bakery and definitely needed seasoning or a dipping sauce, oil and pesto or something. My salad had their "house" vinagrete dressing. It looked like ketchup and was the most odd combination of very bitter vinegar and something sweet. After just one bite there was no way I could eat it. We both ordered pasta dishes and as other reviewers have stated, the portions seemed generous. My alfredo sauce was way too thick, very heavily seasoned and maybe a little green. It tasted OK, but not really right. Me and my spouse are home sick now with digestive issues after this meal. Unfortunately, I didn't make it all the way home, but I did make it to the bathroom at the grocery store when I started feeling sick. We won't be back at Joe's and I can't recommend...
