This particular bubba Gump has completely disappointing me and my family. My family has always come here to celebrate many different occasions, and we would’ve never thought that this would’ve happened. We’ve always returned here because the food was good, but after this, I don’t think we could manage. Firstly, We were a party of 10 and two out of 10 ordered 10-ISH minutes before the rest and their food came out within 30 minutes. But after eight of us hadn’t received our food in over an hour we asked her waiter to check on our food. After another 20 minutes of waiting our food finally arrived. My daughter’s food portion looked awfully small compared to before, The crab and shrimp boil which my daughters used to share had less than half of the amount of shrimp Of previous times. we asked our waiter if the menu had changed and he insisted and hadn’t. We come to this location at least six times a year and we knew that something was off. When my daughter took a bite, she immediately spit it out. I asked what was wrong and she said it was squishy. After looking, I realize the middle of the shrimp was pink and raw. Both of my daughter stopped eating, and then my son complained that his chicken was dry. After I tried it, It was indeed very dry. We called over the manager and listed off the problems with The waiting time, the dry chicken, The portions, And the raw shrimp. We showed a comparison of one of my shrimp from my appetizer, which was not pink and my daughter’s raw shrimp. The manager saw it and offered to bring a new boil And she verified that the menu had changed and the boil now only fed one person at the same price. When the new boil came out, my daughters were too scared to eat the shrimp and only ended up eating potatoes and bread, Which obviously did not fill them up. Apart from that, the waiter had placed down a meal that was not ours and when we told him, he said we could keep it and to not tell the manager. When we got our bill, the extra meal he gave us was On our bill, but we did not order it. Overall, it was a hectic night that completely ruined my daughter’s birthday. We paid over $300 for dry and raw food that did not satisfy our kids and ruined my...
Read moreTHIS REVIEW is long overdue. But y'all need to know that right in your back yard is this JEWEL for special dinners, occasions, or just a fab place to hang with friends for cocktails and treats...
EVERY time I bring my crew over from Disney (yes yes - Disney folk love Universal City Walk - it's true!) we're reminded of WHY we love this particular spot for cocktails, appetizers, and full-on meals.
ONE major reason is the warmth, professionalism, and graciousness of the Staff. EVEN throughout Covid and all the 'down' the Hospitality Industry experienced... THIS PLACE remained as welcoming and caring as you'd hope.
Never once in our many reservations, dinner parties, and catering have we had less than a 5-Star interaction with everyone there... from the Hosts / Hostesses to the Servers to the Management.
THAT in itself says A LOT.
Add to this the atmosphere (yes, it does smack of 'theme park fun' BUT never skimps on the quality and quantity of the portions and dining experience!) and STILL 'affordability' factor...
And there's really NO WHERE ELSE you're gonna wanna make a reservation at when you're enjoying Universal Hollywood OR City Walk!
If you're coming by any time this summer, be sure to ask for either JESSICA, HEATHER or YVETTE - wonderful managers who clearly put 'the patron' first - and no matter how crazy or crazed the generous dining areas get between patrons, to-go, and tourists - ALWAYS manage to make you feel welcome and valued.
Overseeing this outstanding crew is the NICEST General Manager I've ever worked with: RUESSE ('Reese')- so warm and hospital and always going the extra mile - even when he's officially 'off' he still communicates with his top-tier staff if needed.
And FRANK who oversees all the yum, gourmet doings in the kitchen... really does such an outstanding job of overseeing hundreds of meals a night and still caring deeply about quality. 3 cheers for how he balances what must be an insane sitch on Saturday nites...
THANK YOU Bubba Gump - we're so so grateful to have you as our 'go to' dining spot in the...
Read moreThe worst restaurant experience I have ever had! Love Bubba Gump and have ate at multiple locations! However it was my friends first time and she made our server Matt aware of that, he simply walked away. No explanation of the license plate sign, background or trivia. You think no big deal right? Well it only gets worse.. When our drinks arrived we politely asked is they had straws and he said "Yes, if you order them.." Under his breath, came back with our straws and rushed us to order. (I will admit we came in close to closing time which I understand is annoying but you should always treat your last table like your first.) Being in the service industry I am always forgiving of bad service but my chocolate lab could have done a better job! My friend did not like her food at all and it came out freezing cold! Her plate was full the entire time, our server walked passed multiple times without doing a quality check whatsoever. In about another 15 minutes he finally came, but only to drop the bill at the table (without asking if we wanted it.) About 5 minutes after that he walked by and asked "do you need a box" and after saying no said OK. Good and ran off. After settling the bill (which I extremely regret paying after the way the manager handled the situation) we walked up to the manager to express our disappointment about the experience, he, and I quote said "Oh really? Sorry." I stared in disbelief. He then saw my expression and asked if there was anything in particular, we explained to him what had happened and he replied "Well Matt is a senior staff member that doesn't seem like him, we'll have a chat." I was absolutely fuming, did the manager really just try to argue with us about the service we received? Disgusting! Do not recommend dining here EVER! Cold food, rude staff, and terrible management. Save your money!!! Would have...
