My wife wanted to come here because it been years since she went to a Bubba Gump restaurant so I made reservations off OpenTable for Friday night. We arrived early so I checked in with the host at the front (it was only 30 minutes early) She said I should get a text when our table is ready even though they didn't look busy. Other guest came after me as a walk in and put their name down, they were told a 10 minute wait so they got seated before us which got me irritated because making reservations doesn't help then. I got a text exactly at my reservation time and we got seated. Cameron was our server and I think he had a lot of tables so it took him a while to come to us. We already knew what we wanted so we got the Clam Chowder cup, my wife got her shrimp scampi and I went with the 12oz ribeye with shrimp along with fries and Mac & cheese (the mac was extra) The chowder came out first and my wife enjoy it. Then our dishes came out, my wife said she really like her shrimp scampi. I thought the steak was okay but it wasn't the best, I think they added too much butter or salt. My shrimp was overcooked and it didn't have much taste to it, you can tell by the picture it was overcooked because it had burnt mark on it. The fries were decent but I didn't like the Mac & cheese. The service here was kind of slow but good thing they have a sign that you can flip so other waiter can help assist you. The men and women bathroom here are not the best along with being very tight. I thought coming here was okay but only like once every 2 or 3 years. If you want a to go bag for your food, you have to go to the gift store to ask for one which I think is lame because they want to get you to buy something.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at Universal CityWalk Hollywood is a convenient and lively spot for dinner if you’re visiting the area. The restaurant is located on the ground level, making it very easy to find as you explore CityWalk. We arrived around 6–7 PM and were seated immediately, although the place quickly filled up not long after we started our meal. The menu is what you’d expect from a classic American restaurant, offering a mix of steaks, burgers, seafood, and more. Since shrimp is the star of the restaurant’s name, we focused on trying some shrimp-centered dishes. The lobster rolls stood out—they were flavorful, generously packed with lobster, and definitely left us satisfied. The fries that came with it were hot and crispy, just the way they should be. However, we found that some of the other shrimp dishes were quite salty, to the point where it was hard to finish them. Personally, I would have preferred a simpler presentation—like plain boiled shrimp with sauce on the side—rather than everything being heavily seasoned or mixed together. We still left full, though probably in part thanks to drinking lots of water alongside the meal. Overall, Bubba Gump offers a good, casual dining experience with a fantastic location and a wide variety of food options. While the flavors weren’t perfectly balanced for us, especially with the saltiness, it could just come down to what you order. I’d recommend choosing a mix of dishes, so you can balance things out if one ends up being too heavy-handed. It’s worth a visit if you’re looking for an easy, classic meal during your CityWalk adventure!

Family visit to universal studios and a last stop before going back to the hotel. Food was great till I saw a (( white fly bug )) hidden in the broccoli. (( These are common white bugs around every vegetables and needs to be thoroughly washed before serving ))it’s normal I get it.My intention was not to get a free meal or make anyone’s life miserable. I told our waiter politely so he would tell his kitchen crew to be aware. Manager comes out and apologized and states it was a lemon seed… A lemon seed !?!? If you can not handle your manager position please find a new line of work buddy, there is no reason to lie to a customer and disagree with them.I know customers that are just rude and want to take advantage in every single way but I’m not one of them. That was a 7 (top) guest table that orders 4 of the same dish. Then he comes back saying he took that dish off the bill like I was trying to so desperately get! I continue to tell him that I don’t care about the money you can’t just come to me and say it’s a lemon seed and basically say I’m not capable of understanding the difference between a bug and a seed, then he says his cook said it and it was not him. Well Jesus Christ then that fixed everything right ?!! Unfortunately my 4 year old son and I was the winner with the lemon seed that you claim. Very unpleasant and disgusting experience, I came back to the hotel I looked at the receipt to email the complaint I noticed I was charged for the Free appetizer that your front door employee handed us. Just another smack in the face.

It had been years since I last visited a Bubba Gump Shrimp, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and overly expensive. Unless you’re absolutely starving, there are no other restaurants open on City Walk, and you can’t go anywhere else, I wouldn’t recommend eating here. Before diving into the negatives, I do want to mention that the staff was lovely, and our waiter was very attentive. The restaurant’s aesthetic is also on point with fun movie references and license plates decorating the walls, which was visually appealing. Sadly, that’s about all I can say that’s positive. As for the food: We ordered four dishes—an appetizer platter, a bowl of soup, and two entrées—and the total came out to $101 before tip. Run Across America Sampler: The only item I enjoyed was the fried chicken. The hush puppies were bland, the shrimp was dry, and the artichoke dip was cold. 4/10 New England Clam Chowder: It was okay but nothing remarkable. 6/10 I’m Stuffed Shrimp: This dish tasted overwhelmingly of grease with barely any seafood flavor. The shrimp was ruined by a greasy, mushy batter, and the crab cake stuffing was more of the same. The rice was also overly dry. 1/10 Crab and Shrimp Roll: The only decent entrée. The bread was toasted and buttery, and the shrimp and crab filling was flavorful. 8/10
