Wow. This place has gone downhill.
I decided to give them 2 more chances because they were previously so good but idk what's going on there now. The goat cheese appetizer is still exquisite, but they are competing with a lot of good restaurants in that little spot, so they need to get it together.
The service was spectacular (after a little hitch at the start), which is why we rated 2 stars instead of one. We went for my birthday last week and so many things went wrong.
We were the only people seated outside so I think the server didn't know about us at first. We sat and watched a rainstorm from the covered patio while we drank the waters the server assistant brought for a long time before our server made it to our table. We weren't in a hurry so we didn't say anything.
Ordered the goat cheese and a new spinach dip appetizer ($16 each). The spinach dip was bland, and the chips served with it were completely stale. We asked for more bread to dip and our server brought that with fresh chips too, she really was awesome.
The peanut butter old fashioned was really interesting and I enjoyed it.
Then, the entree. We ordered the top steak, $75 for 16oz of aged, tender meat. We ordered medium rare. The first steak came out so well done it was black and crisp on the outside. The server hovered nearby as we cut it.
I tried cutting it in half to see if it was just black and blue, but no such luck. The server was taking our steak to be refired and I told her rare would be better than well. I prefer my steaks almost mooing.
The second steak was a joke. It took a while to come out, which seems strange for an empty restaurant and a rare - medium rare refire. I worked in the industry for a long time.
I'll include my photo here. It came out medium well, there was a hand print in my mashed potatoes, and the asparagus that was supposed to be there was missing.
The server and manager we both great. They of course comped the steak, but they were also kind enough to offer a free dessert and a to-go side. I wasn't really hungry anymore and just wanted to take some mac and cheese home for later.
I ended up spending less money than expected and I certainly had a memorable time. We did have another bad experience going there for happy hour but it was months ago and I don't remember it too well so I'm only including this one.
Good luck to this restaurant. It will likely be a long time before we give them another shot. They should know that the front of house manager and server who took care of us are the only reason we would ever come back.
Previous Review: We ordered the panko crusted goat cheese, the sweet and spicy shrimp, their signature steak, and the white chocolate bread pudding.
We wouldn't normally go to a place this expensive, but it was totally worth it. Portions were reasonable. The pictured steak is a half portion since we split it.
Our check had 3 drinks, 2 appetizers, the most expensive entree ($58 steak) and a dessert and came out to around $170. For how much we got, and how amazing it tasted, I feel that was very reasonable. We tipped $50 for the amazing service from Kevin, and had a wonderful anniversary.
Expensive (to us), but 100% worth it. We're going back for brunch in 2 weeks, which seems to be priced a little lower. If the food is as good as it was tonight we may be...
Read moreWe made brunch reservations two weeks ago. It’s Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Bar afterall so we were super excited. I will say that making the reservation online was a no-go, I ended up having to call to make it. They took the reservation and within a few hours they called me that we needed to pay for all persons going (7 adults & 2 children) in advance to keep the reservation. Keep in mind, this was $50 per adult and $25 for the child. We paid because again, it’s Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Bar and we had heard nothing but amazing things about the food from a few people. Our reservation was for 2:30, they sat us pretty quick in a great room and the server came right away, told us about the buffet and that we can go as often as we want and eat as much as we want. Still excited since this was our first time going! Unfortunately reality hit and hit hard!!! What a massive disappointment! I took the kids to get their food first… Eggs (scrambled), I think, with some cheese and others without were soggy and looked pretty bad, there were potatoes that clearly had zero seasoning on it and sone looked burned, the hash brown tray was empty, someone said something about shrimp and there were NONE, there were waffles and pancakes which were COLD, a lot of empty/closed trays, my sister found one tray with fried chicken tenders and grabbed for the kids (I didn’t care for them), AND that was it! We learned that they were cooking more since they did not expect the amount of people who reserved (umm people had to pay in advance so they KNEW how many) so we needed to wait. The “buffet” area, if that’s what you want to call it, wasn’t very big but there was a ton of people WAITING for the food to come out. As I got whatever was available for the kids and started heading to the table to get them situated, I saw a tray of shrimp so once they were sat, I went back to get my food. Eggs again looked pretty bad, still no hash brown, shrimp was no where to be found, there was a small amount of Cesar salad that was put on my plate, and when I asked about the shrimp I was told “It’s over there” I was walked over “there” and was told “No back over there.” There was NONE! But there was plenty of friend chicken tenders that were not very good! This whole experience was a massive disappointment!! We ended up asking for the manager because I was not going to pay $50 for chicken tenders!!! We expressed the disappointment and the manager said “I’m sorry this isn’t to your standard!” 😡 I said “It’s not about my standards, you’re serving chicken tenders with little food for $50!” We asked for a full refund. We got our stuff and left. We will never go back to...
Read moreMy family and I went to Chef Addriane's Vineyard Restaurant and Bar to celebrate my best friend's birthday. She had made a reservation for 2 pm for a party of 9. Our party arrived promptly and we were eager to begin what has always been "a first class dining experience". Once we were seated, our server offered us water and soon after began taking our orders. She said that cornbread with butter would soon be served. Half and hour later when we asked where the cornbread was, we were told it was in the oven. Twenty minutes later when we asked again, we were told that it was frozen and was not being made anymore. We were then given rolls with butter. Only one serving of butter was brought to the table of 9. First thing out of the kitchen was my husband's blueberry pancakes, which were charred. This was only the beginning of our disastrous experience! Following was a Cesar salad, which was fine for the most part. Pretty difficult to mess that one up! Next up were the 2 orders of English muffins, one of which had one of the muffin tops looking like it had mold growing on it. The fries were not edible as they were drenched in oil. The burgers that were served with truffle fries were cold. The eggs Benedict that had been requested with hollandaise sauce on the side arrived minus the sauce, one hour and forty five minutes after we were seated. The server never even came by to offer us water or to apologize for the food taking so long. Quite frankly, she didn't really care about anything, much less providing us with any type of service. At this point, I walked over to the hostess and requested to speak to the manager. I began explaining the situation to him in detail. He began by only offering to exchange certain dishes. At no point did I feel he earnestly was trying to make a bad situation better. I explained to him that this was not the type of service or quality of food that was unique to this establishment. I told him honestly you need to comp this entire meal. We were here celebrating my friend's birthday and this was not the experience we were expecting. I then waited for him to return with a solution. Meanwhile, other tables were also complaining about the food and the service as well. So this was not an isolated incident. At no time did he return and at the end, the server came back with the checks. My friend was so nervous by now that she told me she would pay the bills. Against my better judgement, her son asked me to let it go. Needless to say, she's a much better person than I am. I would have left and not paid for this horrible meal and service. Completely unacceptable!!!!! Quality and service non-existent!!!...
