Food was good (well made), vibe of the workers was good (helpful), atmosphere good...but the beers at (and from) Discretion....always excellent. I love their mission of sustainability and quality ingredients. Will be back, mainly for the brews (their Scenic Stout is my favorite local beer). A couple of noticings: pricing on beers was not on the signs, which would have helped. A physical menu to pick up and look at would have been nice, since this was my first time eating there, and standing in front of a wall menu next to the bar for food, and behind the bar for beverages, is socially a little uncomfortable. (QR codes may replace this minor void for some, but imo it forces customers to be glued to our phones rather than present with each other). One more minor thing: I was sitting there enjoying War Pigs by Sabbath playing overhead, and they pulled the plug in the middle as they started to close up and vibe us out during closing time at 9pm. There are few rules in life, and one of them is: "Thou shalt not disrupt a classic Sabbath song mid riff." Enjoyable...
Read morePair quality beer with good food and warm, fun, and funky atmosphere and you have the good time that is to be had at Discretion Brewing.
A recent pair of tasting flights (6 3oz pours per flight) took me through all 11 beers on tap. All were very true to their styles and not a single one disappointed. Given that it was pretty toasty last time I was there, the Shimmer pilsner was a joy to quaff. However, the Gloriouski amber ale i got a pint of still paired better with the Chicken and Waffles their excellent kitchen provided. I will definitely be back again soon and if you are a fan of good craft beer and tasty food, you should get...
Read moreThe beer is decent if not slightly below average, the food is good albeit in small portions. But this place clearly prefers Doms and Hipsters to any local flavor. Not my local brewery. Lady at the register cut us off after two beers and said we had enough..... uh... what? Super snotty and refused to tell me why, because we were not inebriated in any way. At one point the manager came up to us as we requested to be informed why we were being cut off and I was told "This isn't a bar" in a very judgmental way. So when I read the comment below that this "isn't a construction workers type of place" I know exactly what that reviewer meant. They definitely prefer workboots that aren't used for work and skinny jeans along with lumber jack beards worn by people who have never...
