It is truly sad what has happened to this place. I've been a long time customer for over 8 years, visiting sometimes more than twice a week to meet friends. Never an issue until last Sunday. Had another full grown adult at the bar threaten to end my life, because he assumed I was talking about him. I complained to the staff about it. The bars bouncer decided the best course of action was not to kick this person out but to move them a few seats over. I was displeased. The bouncer told me to "Shut up, and be happy with it or I could leave." Not even 5 minutes later the same bouncer is high fiving/hugging/smiling/ chatting with the man who just threatened to kill me. I expressed my disbelief, and was then near instantly asked to leave for being too loud. During a football game of all times too. I am disgusted by the actions of the bouncer, who in the end is a uniformed representative of the restaurant. It is obvious he chose to accommodate his friend/acquaintance rather than make the right decision(I've been since informed by other local bartenders this place is notorious for the people who work there doing things like this. Protecting their aggressive friends, kicking guests out of bar seats after their friend walked off to get high and forcing guest to give it back etc.) I reached out to Flanigan's a week ago via their website. I have had no response from them. Not even an acknowledgment my complaint was received. In the week since this has happened I have been speaking to my neighbors as well as other locals and even other bartenders in the Kendall area at other places I frequent about this incident. To my surprise, no one is shocked! I have had several Kendall locals tell me about bad experiences they have had here with rather unsavory type people. Both inside the restaurant as well as in the parking lot. In all honesty I truly hope that corporate or management reaches out to me to make this right. I have many friends who come here but on principal alone I will not be returning until such a time that I know these issues are addressed. I truly feel the bouncer needs to be disciplined, and receive additional training. Because of his actions I no longer feel safe here. I have to assume, he will always be rude, and never have my safety or best interest in mind. I must also assume my aggressor would feel pretty comfortable to threaten me or another person again. For now my best advice to anyone is the same thing another local told me. Don't go here at night. It's just not worth it. In the mean time I hope Flanigan's makes some changes and cleans this place up, until then Farewell Flanigan's!! You have just lost an eight year long, paying customer!!
Update 7/11/24: After months of not going to this place my brother and decided we would let the past be the past and let it go and have a beer. This was a month ago in early June. The bar tenders and a few regulars seemed pretty happy to see us. No sooner do we order our beers and take a sip we are aporoched by two managers (the big bearded dude and the lil old blonde lady) they tell us they need to speak to us outside. Once outside WE WERE SURROUNDED BY 5 staff members 3-4 of which were managers. It made my brother and I super uncomfortable. They asked us to recap what happened the night we had an incident and after I re-explained that someone had THREATENED MY LIFE, we were informed my brother and I are the ones who are banned. Then they tried to talk nice and tell us they would call corparate and ask for us to be unbanned, I explained we weren’t too worried and could spend our money in other bars in kendall. This made the old blonde lady mad, she shot us a dirty look. The one manager kept insisting the ban was old and he would ask corporate to remove it, it’s been a month and no follow up from them. After insisting for my info. What a fcking joke! This only proves this place is a lil club for the scumbags who grew up in kendall and can’t survive anywhere else. This place needs to be gutted internally. Fk...
Read moreI've been to many Flanigan's locations, including this one, many times. Never had I had a terrible experience until this last time, last week. After waiting over an hour for a table, we were seated, ordered food quickly, and waited. There were three of us total - 2 of us got our meals within 25 minutes, one person did not. Our waiter got to our table after maybe 20 minutes after our 2 plates arrived (by someone that was not our waiter) and looked shocked to see that the third person's meal was not delivered. He promised to look into it. Another 15 minutes pass (and 2 of us are patiently waiting to eat our food upon arrival of the third meal so we could all eat together), and the waiter is visibly avoiding our table, helping other tables in the vicinity. Finally, he comes back, again shocked to see the third meal not there yet. He goes away to "look into it again." At this point, it's over 30 minutes since the arrival of 2 of our dishes, factoring in the time we waited for our 2 meals, it's well over 50 minutes and the third plate is not there. Our food is cold and we eat, still waiting for the third meal. Finally, my fiancé (who is still waiting for his food) tells our waiter to forget the order and bring us our checks since it had basically been over an hour that we were waiting for clam chowder, rib rolls, and a garlic roll (all of which are appetizers, by the way.) Our waiter says he will comp his meal and bring it out in to-go boxes for our troubles. He brings our check and only the garlic roll (the cheapest thing on the menu) is comped and if we weren't happy, we could talk to the manager. The food is brought in to-go boxes like he said. At this point, having waited over 1 hour to be seated, another hour to eat a cold, incomplete meal, we wanted to leave this terrible experience and didn't bother bringing it up to the manager. We paid for the entire meal minus the garlic roll, still left a 20% tip, and left miserable. What a terrible experience and barely anything was done to rectify the situation other than "talk to the manager" and probably wait another 25 minutes just to get the manager to our table to try and do something about a terrible experience. I've worked in the food industry and customer service, I know what good service is like and this was not it, in fact, this was far from it. It was clear that our waiter was avoiding our table because the food was not ready and nothing was done to fix this. Avoid...
Read moreBeen coming here for years but that will end after my last experience with their manager who needs training on his customer service and people skills. The burger is my favorite but I will be going to the Pinecrest location instead. I ordered a burger for takeout and as usual they forgot the pickle. I asked for their barbecue sauce which I prefer to ketchup. The server said there was a charge for barbecue sauce to which I replied that I had been ordering takeout for years from this location and had never been asked to pay for it. Furthermore, you can freely pour it on your burger when you dine in. Looks like he was feeling the pressure because the manager was standing nearby. The manager decided to get involved and replied that there was a charge because the burger did not come with barbecue sauce. I replied and asked then what was the 10% takeout service fee for that they were charging since it is not given to the employees as a tip. I always tip separately from the service fee. I stated that the takeout service fee is exactly to cover the cost of the takeout containers and sauces. He insisted that it was not included and that I had to pay. After going back and forth for several minutes in front of a long line of customers he finally agreed to give the sauce for free just so I would leave but tried to make me feel cheap about it. I stated that I can afford the cost but did not agree since they were already charging for it in the takeout service fee and that what they were doing is taking advantage of the customers and ripping them off. He smirked at me and mockingly said “Yes Sir” and seemed very proud of his answer and behavior and then turned his back on me and walked away. How sad that Flanigans employs such an unqualified manager totally lacking in management skills at such a busy location. I will never return to this location and recommend customers to go to the Pinecrest location instead where they are much friendlier and offer a much more welcoming and less crowded environment. Shame on you Flanigans for having this loser there misrepresenting your store. Train him better or demote him to dishwasher. I truly hope the manager reads this review and remembers the incident and how...
