Not sure why the ratings are so low for this small chain fast-food burger place. I often wonder why people continue to be so loyal to McDonalds. They can mess up orders, be not very clean, poor service, yet everyone goes back? Freddy's clearly has them beat. My experience was nothing like the low rating reviews. Perhaps they have changed management or fired some of the people. No cell phones in anyone of the employees hands during my visit. This particular location was very clean, the service was very good and the food was better than expected for a fast-food burger place. When I say service was good, I mean the staff greeted you, offered condiments, spoke clearly and understandably, the food was cooked as ordered and ready in a moment. The atmosphere is much better than any of the big chains, much cleaner and more vibrant. I feel the prices and the quality is also better than the big three burger chains. Pickles were crunchy, large and taste like a pickle. The fries (skinny shoelace type) were abundant, crispy and at the right temperature. A bacon double burger with Drink and a pile of fries less than 13 and a half dollars. A frozen custard sundae with hot fudge less than 5. They have seemingly more to offer as far as the menu goes as well, and the dessert (frozen custard) seem endless. This place blows DQ and Checkers out of the water. They have burgers, chicken, hot dogs, fries or tots and chili cheese options. The Custard is offered in shakes, cup, and sundaes. The toppings are beyond a couple but no so outrageous you cannot decide. Reminded me of the Tasty Freeze or local town Frozen Custard drive in place you see in the movies. They nailed it with their modernized version of indoor/outdoor seating, drive through window and online pick up orders. The website is very user friendly. So if you want a good dessert or dissatisfied with the big three or just want to try something new slightly different, I strongly...
Read moreI have been going to Freddy's for over a decade and have been locations all across the country. This wasn't the most disappointing experience I have had but it was not good. I ordered a number 1 with a chocolate milkshake and a patty melt.
The shake is now half the size it used to be and no warning was made that regular now means kids size. I guess that's how things go but still will be the last shake I buy at a Freddy's. More egregiously, the shake was handed to me with a lot of ice cream still on the outside from the guy who made it with no attempt to clean it. First interaction with food at this store was immediately needing to wipe off my own drink and wash my now sticky hands. Then on top of that there were loads of chunky chalky bits in the shake.
The burger came in a bag and was not assembled well so the pickles were left in the bag and i covered myself in mustard trying to remove it. Why not just put it in a box like all the other locations?
Then the patty melt bread had a lot of seeds now and was shoved into a box to no longer be sandwich shape. Having to pry apart the two halves is absurd.
The taste of everything was on par with previous experiences but this location was horrendous. Hopefully this is not a part of a wide trend but my experiences across all the locations I've been to has been consistently...
Read moreI just left the Manassas location. I’ve eaten here since the day they opened. I’ve watched the customer service quality dwindle to barely tolerable. I was there last month when they ran out of soda and were pouring drinks at the drive thru out of two liter bottles from Walmart, and when they bought shoestring fries from the store and served them as their own. And, last week when they were still serving thick shakes with toppings and not telling us that they ran out of wide straws. The wait times are ridiculous. The Fairfax location is 10x better.
However today takes the cake. I ordered ice cream for carry out as I’ve done several times before. I picked the ice cream out of the freezer and checked the receipt for my name. I asked for a bag to carry the ice cream and the young man, while handing me the bag, leaned over me to carefully check the receipt as I was pulling away. I asked him why and he told me that he wanted to make sure that my order had everything. I asked him again why he checked my bag and the manager(?) and another young man walked up to us and explained that they check carry out orders now. I saw no one else checked. I told them that it’s 2024 and they need to grow up. I’m fed up with Freddy’s and we ate there often. Profiling over...
