Memorial Day weekend a Sunday after church services. Yes, pre- reservation for 10 Adults we had to wait 5 minutes before being seated. In the back part of the restaurant, it was obvious that they only had to set the table while we waited in the very small entrance area. When we were directed to our table in the rear without a window view, there was a family with small children and a baby with stroller combination carrier type. Cramped into two separate tables: 1 for 4 people and the other table 5 folks. I must say the the waitress was prompt and knowledgeable about the menu and the best way to order for one's money excellent. The food arrived hot, and the salads and drinks were perfectly served. There was no confusion on whom ordered what excellent. Paying bill was no problem we paid for what we ordered individually. As a family, we normally tip generously because most of us have worked in the food industry as college students, and we KNOW what tipping means to the waiters/ servers. We were given the option to pay as a group or individually. The folks that had chosen this establishment said to the waitress individually, "Please, no problem. As the waitress passed out the slips of papers to pay. I noticed that they had already included the gratuity per person. Okay, I understand that is done for a certain number of guests. However, there are more personnel involved with the SERVICE of a group of 5 or more people. Since they whom ever that was took it upon themselves to count what I would give for table service along with the 'busboy/men' that assisted her I would have been kindly to include them in the " tipping " amount. What concerned me THATS after we had just started our deliveries of our meal.. I heard and looked around that the section was void of PEOPLE where they had disappeared. The other sections in this establishment were buzzing with human voices. That why I rated this place 3 stars. Valencia Ca I will not be back. that's my truth! The host who booked this location handed the...
Read moreNormally I love this restaurant. Today was a series of mistakes that really ruined the meal for me. First I parked in the pick up spot so I could place an order online because I use a wheelchair and assembling it and going inside and then carrying out a bag of food is very draining. The menue is difficult and it was taking me some time. An employee came out and tried to rush me along asking my name over and over. Once she left i continued to order and then she came out yet again to rush me along. When I finally got through the convoluted online menu my order would not submit. So begrudgingly I unloaded my wheelchair and went inside to order. I showed the employee my screenshot from my online order thinking this would surely make my order correct. The first was my mistake when I didn't realize the substitution wasn't in the screenshot. So I called the restaurant from my car to let them know only minutes after ordering. The first lady transferred me and the second said they would tell the cooks and abruptly hung up. I took a deep breath and waited. A male employee came out with a bag. I asked if they were able to substitute. He said yes. "OK, thank you so much." I said. Then he was gone and I looked in the bag. It was missing the bbq sauce(essential) and there was a pulled pork sandwich in place of my order of just pulled pork. So I got my chair out yet again and went inside. They got to work fixing it but a male employee from the kitchen didn't seem happy about it making me worry about what he might be doing to my food. He brought it back and it was just the pulled pork. The other employee put 4 tiny containers of sauce. I had ordered 3 different kinds and large ones. I didn't have it in me to tell them it was still wrong. I left tired and disappointed with a very expensive order gone wrong. Oh, and the corn was so old it tasted like it had been picked fresh in Nebraska last year before first frost only now arriving to be placed on a grill and...
Read moreOverall had a great experience with my mother at Wood Ranch BBQ in Valencia.
We arrived pretty late in the day, got there probably about 8 p.m. ish and fortunately were quickly seated.
Are waiter for the night was kind and attentive. She was quick to take our orders and did a fantastic job explaining how some of the entrees on the menu work in regards to portion size.
I went with the soup of the day which ended up being yummy mushroom tri-tip soup. For my entree I chose the four meat combo, I chose to brisket, tri-tip, and the beef ribs. I also ordered one of the hot links a la carte. For my sides I chose the loaded mashed potatoes and the fire roasted broccoli.
Complimentary bread was brought to the table and it was addicting. It was rather hard not to ask for more haha.
Definitely enjoyed the tri-tip mushroom soup, it was nice thick and creamy, not to mention the tri-tip was very tender.
I loved the taste of the brisket however the slices that I got were a little too lean for my taste I'm a fan of fatty cuts of brisket.
The beef ribs were great, they weren't overly Sauced and had a fair amount of meat. They didn't fall off the bone like I prefer, but they were good nonetheless.
The tri-tip is what stood out to me here, I got mine medium and oh man it was great. The taste, how tender it was, it just melted in your mouth.
The mashed potatoes tasted good, although surprisingly a little dry? The consistency reminded me of those instant powder type potatoes to be honest.
Fire roasted broccoli was fantastic do recommend. Had that satisfying fire-roasted crunch to it.
For dessert I gave their warm chocolate cake a shot.
I love the taste of the cake but the cake itself was too hard. It was more like a giant brownie with fudge filling then it was a cake. When I think chocolate cake at a barbecue I think something soft...
