Customer service was great. Even with his limited English he was very willing to answer questions and assist. Even recommended a local place to find something rare when it was discovered they didn't have an item on the menu.
As far as the food goes, it was definitely decent but not really what I 'm looking for. They are one of those strange places that puts the white cheese sauce over everything, which doesn't really normally go on this food. I knew this going in but decided to give it a shot just to see. There was no real pico de gallo in the burrito as advertised but rather some diced tomato (and not as much as you would get from pico. Almost no sour cream. I think I saw some white stuff but didn't taste it. It was basically fajita chicken, rice and lettuce wrapped in a tortilla and covered in that weird cheese sauce. The rice also had peas in it, which is very strange. Some places out here do that too and I don't know why. The chicken was really good, though.
The salsa was better than Patron's by far (their salsa is tomato sauce blended with a little onion and some ground seasonings added). It isn't anything amazing, though. Chips were slightly stale and fully cold. Cold chips are fine but usually you expect warm and fresh ones from a place like this.
If the customer service wasn't so good I would have...
Read morewent in this afternoon to get a to go order for my wife and I. The wait staff was friendly and took my order promptly and had my food in less then 5 minutes. I ordered a burrito supreme with white cheese and tacos asada. When I got home I opened up the food. First, they forgot to put the white cheese on the burrito (but didnt forget to charge me for it). The burrito was tasted okay, but was blanch without the cheese. Second, the chips were extremely stale, no crunch at all to them. This was disappointing. Third, the steak on the tacos asada was old, it tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer and the aluminum tray was soaked in water. Presumably from the water the steak was sitting in to keep the meat warm. Lastly, the salsa was watery, so watery that I couldn't dip my stale chip into the salsa. However, even if the salsa wasn't watery, they only give enough salsa to maybe use 1/4 of the big bag of stale chips. Would...
Read moreWas not busy on a Friday nite, dining room about 1/2 full, as we had just encountered a long wait at another place in town. So, leaving there instead of waiting, we came here, Cactus Jack's. Been here few times, consistently good food and service decent. We did have a server who was not at all fluent in English or Spanish, unsure of her native language. But, she tried her best, despite the obstacles. We got food we ordered fast and hot, too! Not the best cooked fajita meat, kind of chewy and hard to chew. Chips were tad bit toasted more than would have liked. Maybe the kitchen/cook likes to be sure food is well done?!... hard to screw up Mexican food when the patrons did not have breakfast or lunch! Still a So So place...not too pricey either, so there's good in just okay as whole! I didnt remember we ate here til we got seated. It was so so not memorable then, too! A fish tank...it is all coming back...
