Good food, RUDE staff... especially if you have a coupon - that they honor one day and not the next. The food can taste awesome, but when the staff/manager are so rude to you and embarrass you/make you feel stupid about trying to use a coupon (we used another similar one the month before with no problems) that you want to leave... not worth it. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT.
We ordered an Entertainment Book (we've ordered it for a few years) - filled with coupons to many different local restaurants. The only place that we found that doesn't honor their own coupons was Slim Chickens. They had even honored the coupon a month prior to this event. We went to the counter as usual, ordered, and showed them the coupon like before. The server proceeded to say that the coupon wasn't valid (we've purchased the coupon book for the past few years now and had used one there previously with no issue and the date was still good for months). They were loud, rude/obnoxious, and they said that it was an illegally made coupon and wasn't valid... and made it as if WE did something wrong by showing it to them. If that's the case, they should've contacted the book to not allow the printing of it and not been rude and griped at us. We didn't make the coupon. The whole thing was unprofessional and baffling. They could've at least been nicer about not accepting it - that's just common courtesy. The manager just chimed with the same rudeness and insinuated that we were just wanting stuff for free... Aren't we supposed to be adults? It's just a coupon. I guess the customer is wrong sometimes, but do you have to be inappropriately rude about it and make a scene?
I suppose that they just made themselves look bad. I'm sure any other place would've either accepted the coupon anyways or at least been more discreet about the matter and not made such a scene. We even contacted the Entertainment Book company over this (since this was such a fiasco) and they stated that Slim Chickens was in breach of their contract with them by no longer accepting the coupons (the contract states that they are valid until expiration). If they didn't want it published, Slim Chickens shouldn't have allowed the order to go through to make the coupons in the first place. Slim Chickens was happy to get the publicity for their "invalid" coupons, they just weren't going to honor them for those suckered into buying them - very dishonest and rude. Humiliating/degrading experience -...
Read moreI’ve never been disappointed by the food at this Slim Chickens, but the process involved in getting said food leaves so much to be desired.
You can usually estimate how long your wait will be based off the number of cars in the drive-thru—add 5 minutes for every car in line. It seems like the staff, at any given point in the day, are only capable of handling one person in their drive-thru at a time. At this point I consider it a “pleasant surprise” when my order is taken immediately upon pulling up to the speaker.
Half of the staff there also make it difficult to give your order. I’ll name the meal I want, then name my drink and sauces all in one go, and about half the time I still get asked about what drinks and sauces I want as if I never even brought it up. I’ve recently worked in fast food so I know that it can be tough to catch everything in one go, but I also know that after about a month of working you learn to hold more than one thing in your head at once. Several staff members also seem to try to “rush” through taking orders, but do so by constantly interrupting to ask about things that I’m a split second away from mentioning.
“I’d like a classic meal with a—“ “and what for that drink?” “—a coke.”
It’s perhaps one of the most annoying things, aside from the 5 minute breaks between speaker orders, that these staff members do. They think they’re being efficient by doing this but really they’re slowing things down and pissing off the customers.
If you can afford it, I strongly encourage everyone to AVOID going directly to Slims to get your fix. Order through delivery and save yourself the headache of having to deal with the staff and the ridiculous drive-thru line that they allow to pile out...
Read moreStopped here for dinner after a very long, busy day. Waited in the drive thru line for at least 15 minutes before getting to the speaker to order. When I finally did, the person on the headset was rude and kept cutting me off as I was ordering. That alone was enough to make me irritated along with the fact that she had my order wrong TWICE before I even left the speaker. Then, the same woman on the headset argued with me about the payment I gave her (correct change) because why in the world would I give change only to receive change back? There were cars parked waiting for their orders, and me thinking I clarified TWICE how I wanted the order, I drove away without checking it. I live 5 minutes from this establishment and got home only to find my order was still not right. I called the store and a guy assured me that if I came back they would fix it. Normally I would have eaten the wings and not made a fuss but they were lemon pepper 🤮. I drove back to the store to find the doors were locked and the drive thru was still a mile long. The rude woman from earlier motioned for me to get in the drive thru line , even though I'm positive she was aware of why I had returned. I had to wait another 10-15 minutes to reach the speaker again for the woman to cut me off yet again, and another 15 minutes to reach the window to get my replacement order that was already cold because I'm assuming they made it when I called. I work in the service industry so I get there are bad days...my family loves this place but there is no way I'll give them any of my...
