I couldn't be more Dissatisfied with the customer service at this restaurant. I happened to have lunch today with a group of co-workers. First we got greeted by a very grumpy hostess, who "fussed" at us for needing to put tables together on the patio, anyways she did it, The tables were absolutely not leveled-we had to put items under the table legs to make them sit straight. (basically do her job) It was beautiful outside. All 5 of us ordered, the soup of the day, it came in Quick, but it was needless to say NOT good. Few of my co-workers did not touch it after the fist sip, I almost ate mine because I was starving at that time. They got their comp-ed , myself and another co-worker who did not want to argue did not. I also ordered a Salad (dressing on a side), so this huge salad came with one tiny dressing, so asked for another one. Not even once was mentioned that it was at extra cost. Lets not forget that the salads at the Bistro cost more than $15, so you would think they budgeted for 2 tiny dressings at least, (if MacDonald's can afford it, they should too). Also the waitress never mentioned the upcharge, and she should, so there is no surprise when the bill comes. The waitress says: "my managers needs to void it so I will ask". The manager Allyce comes approaching the table with no sign of excuse on her face, of course it's our fault, and says with quite an attitude: "I just spoke to the owner and she is not willing to waive it. It's how we stay in business, by not giving food for free." I said: "Well, I have never been charged for one before, and I have been coming regularly for over a year: so she says" Take it like a bonus" and walks away with an evident smurf on her face. Obviously this lady shouldn't be running a lemonade stand, let alone a fine establishment like the Bistro. She just lost a regular customer over $.50. It's a matter a principal. If she was my manager (and we are fortunate enough to have a restaurant in NMB), I would reprimand her. What she should have said, is: "I will take it off this time, since you were not notified, however the Owner is enforcing that we do charge for additional items such as dressing, in the future" Here is a FREE (actually, no I am sorry it cost ME $.50) Lesson on Good Customer Service Ms. Allyce. I hope you read it and...
Read moreHad reservations for 3 at 7:00 PM. Arrived 15 minutes early, was told to wait in the waiting area. Watched people walk in from the street and were seated right away. I was called to my table 10 minutes late. Was brought up stairs where there were four empty tables. (They stayed empty the whole time we were at the restaurant). Took a while for server to arrive. She took our drink order and then brought the drinks, spilling my wine on the floor, she then took my wine back to the bar to have it topped off. It looked exactly the same when she brought it back to the table. (The spilled wine on the floor was never cleaned up the entire time we were there causing a safety hazard.) We placed our order. Ther were two orders of Blackened Chicken Alfredo. my order was the Cattleman's Steak Burger, medium rare no mushrooms, with an extra side order of onion rings.
The meals arrived, the two orders of Alfredo were so hot (not spicy, temperature hot) they couldn't eat them, had to wait sometime until they cooled. My Burger arrived and the waitress had to go back and get my onion rings. While she was gone, I noticed a mushroom on the burger. After checking thoroughly, I uncovered 11 mushrooms, see picture attached. When the waitress returned with the onion rings, I explained that I was not sending the burger back because I was hungry but informed her of the mushrooms and showed them to her, she apologized and told me she told the kitchen no mushrooms. The burger was overcook and very hard to eat. I left most of it. The fries were over cooked. The Onion rings were good. I thought that being on the 2nd floor would be quieter than the first floor, the noise traveled up to the 2nd floor, very noisy.
I'm from the Conway area and like to support local establishments. I've been to Rivertown bistro a few times. This was the worst visit. I'm done with Rivertown bistro. It definitely was not...
Read moreGreat atmosphere. Great food. Great prices. Great service. My lovely wife and I were going to see a play at the theatre of the Republic and wanted to grab something to eat before the musical. We decided on the Rivertown Bistro. We got there about half hour before our reservation and went to the bar for a cocktail. Bartender was very polite and told us about the drink specials. We both got a drink and just took in the great atmosphere in the bar area. When it was time for our reservation they sat us right away. We both ordered another cocktail and we also ordered the Lowcountry Spring Rolls (chicken, tasso ham, spinach, cheddar and jack cheese, fried, honey dijon) for an appetizer (we checked out the menu at the bar). When our drinks came we were ready to order. My lovely wife ordered the BACON WRAPPED PORK TENDERLOIN (apple, onion, fennel, maple berry gastrique, hashbrown casserole) I ordered the Salmon cooked medium rare (black bean cake, heart of palm rice pilaf, arugula, mango pineapple pico, Jamaican jerk sauce). Our spring rolls came out right away and they were very tasty. We sat there and watched them cook in their open kitchen. Really nice atmosphere the restaurant had. Our meal came out in a timely manner. My wife said her pork tenderloin was excellent. My salmon was cooked to perfection. And all the different tastes was really enjoyable. We both had enough to eat. And the wife wanted to have dessert so we shared the Coffee Tower which was thin chocolate cake, white chocolate mousse, toffee anglaise, coffee toffe. All around. the atmosphere was really nice. Service was very very good the waitress, Beth Ann was very professional and very helpful with the questions we had about the menu. It was a real dining experience. Will be back … sooner then later !!! If you want to enjoy some fine dining, this is the place in Conway....
