Ran across them the day before they closed for a 2 week break. Not sure if that was why. I ordered a fried tofu app and basil fried rice with shrimp. The rice was just that with veggies, nothing fried or seasoned about it. I ended up having to season it at home. Iāve never had to season or add anything to Thai food in my life outside of occasional soy sauce or plum sauce for spring rolls. Their sauce (for dipping the tofu and added to the side for the rice) was beyond watery. Iām assuming itās sweet and sour sauce but why so watery? Hidden fees āfor their staffāget added to your meal. Thought that would be nice to mention upfront. For a $12-14 entree and $5 app, no drink, plus tip, my meal was nearly $32, at lunch. No delivery service. Wild! Please tell ppl you add surcharges to support your staff in addition to customers tipping and not hide this. It feels very disingenuous.
Thanks for your reply. It feels a tad aggressive. Maybe you have me confused with another customer. I had no complaints when I entered. Words were minimum from your staff so thereās no way youāre referring to me about pointing out a sign upon entry āwhen I complainedā. I had no complaints at the time. I noticed the small hidden one on the register. No spices were requested nor received. I noticed the taste in food once I returned home so yep, no request for spices made in person. Hence, the review, after. Definitely wonāt be returning after a response like this. Thank you for responding publicly! I will definitely be finding other Thai places to dine and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTonight, we had the worst experience. A woman and child came in and sat in a booth directly behind us. Almost everything she ordered, we overheard some type of complaint. "Too small of order", "I want this remade", "I ordered a double", "Now remake this other dish because it's now cold" etc. After numerous attempts of trying to please this woman, she asks for a to go box, to go sweet tea and the check. Once she receives the check, she then starts complaining about price and does not want to pay for it. The owner and waitresses were very patient and professional, in my opinion, attempting to please the unappeasable. Before walking out, she blurts out how bad of a review she was going to write online. I wanted to crawl under the rock along with the employees. I will not ever understand, nor do not care to, why an adult would act like this.
So, in return, I feel it is my duty to write the truth in the situation. We have been eating at Baan Thai for years. So long that the girls can remember our orders and always get everything perfect! For the most part (besides this one occurrence) it is a very pleasant, cute environment. We rarely have to wait and always get prompt service. The food is always made fresh to order and in very large portions. If you are a Thai food lover, this is your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food isnāt good enough for the service to be this bad. When we walked in, we were greeted with a āthereās just 2 of you?ā There was no āWelcome!ā Or anything along those lines. It took about 10 minutes for someone to awkwardly take our order. There was no mention of the specials which I assume we were supposed to just know. When the waitress came over, she didnāt introduce herself, let us know sheād be taking care of us or anything. All she said was āare you ready to order?ā.
I ordered the bulgogi steak which is just ok. The fried rice is flavorless. The steak was cooked well and seasoned nicely but this is definitely not bulgogi. My husband ordered the pad Thai which honestly was nasty. It has a weird, perfumy taste to it. ** Editing to add that this ābulgogiā sauce is the worst thing Iāve ever tasted. Itās like the budget version of a grocery store version of bulgogi inspired simmer sauce. Itās awful. And this fried rice is literally the worst. My 12 yo makes better fried rice then this. Hell⦠my 5yo probably could as well with no direction from me. The Thai beer and saki...
