The food isn’t good enough for the service to be this bad. When we walked in, we were greeted with a ā€œthere’s just 2 of you?ā€ There was no ā€œWelcome!ā€ Or anything along those lines. It took about 10 minutes for someone to awkwardly take our order. There was no mention of the specials which I assume we were supposed to just know. When the waitress came over, she didn’t introduce herself, let us know she’d be taking care of us or anything. All she said was ā€œare you ready to order?ā€. I ordered the bulgogi steak which is just ok. The fried rice is flavorless. The steak was cooked well and seasoned nicely but this is definitely not bulgogi. My husband ordered the pad Thai which honestly was nasty. It has a weird, perfumy taste to it. ** Editing to add that this ā€œbulgogiā€ sauce is the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. It’s like the budget version of a grocery store version of bulgogi inspired simmer sauce. It’s awful. And this fried rice is literally the worst. My 12 yo makes better fried rice then this. Hell… my 5yo probably could as well with no direction from me. The Thai beer and saki were excellent.

I just came from the restaurant and will share my experience. The food is amazing, great alternative to traditional Chinese take out. Unfortunately, the server who took my order was very very sneaky in the way she totaled my food. I had 4 menu items. She was having trouble with the register. So I sat and waited. She finally shared your total is $40 and some change. Stunned I asked for a receipt and looked over the receipt. She charged me 13.95 for the 8.00 fried rice and also added gratuity to my order. At first I assumed maybe the 13.95 was the price for the food, but coming back home, looking over at this small rice I received. I checked back and it was 8.00! Maybe I thought this establishment automatically charged gratuity to take out orders. But at first she didn’t give me my receipt- but just shared my total. I had to ask for a receipt. I already paid, but a person of that character is not a good representation of your establishment. I hope she doesn’t do other potential customers that way, ripping people off. First impression, not good.

I love good Thai food and Thai to me means curries. My favorite is typically Panang and that is what I ordered here. I had been to this place about 10 years ago but it has since moved into a nicer building. Too bad the colors inside are terrible. šŸ˜‚ Service was just there. I was seated quickly and my order taken right away but there wasn't much engaging personality and the guy at the checkout barely looked up from his phone the whole time. The Panang Curry was a disappointment to say the least. It's kinda watery thin and doesn't have a great texture in the mouth. It's also lacking in flavor. This is the same lack of quality we discovered here 10 years ago. As a Thai curry lover, this place just doesn't do it for me. I won't be back. The only reason I came this time was convenience. I was hoping it had gotten better, but it hasn't.

Ran across them the day before they closed for a 2 week break. Not sure if that was why. I ordered a fried tofu app and basil fried rice with shrimp. The rice was just that with veggies, nothing fried or seasoned about it. I ended up having to season it at home. I’ve never had to season or add anything to Thai food in my life outside of occasional soy sauce or plum sauce for spring rolls. Their sauce (for dipping the tofu and added to the side for the rice) was beyond watery. I’m assuming it’s sweet and sour sauce but why so watery? Hidden fees ā€œfor their staffā€get added to your meal. Thought that would be nice to mention upfront. For a $12-14 entree and $5 app, no drink, plus tip, my meal was nearly $32, at lunch. No delivery service. Wild! Please tell ppl you add surcharges to support your staff in addition to customers tipping and not hide this. It feels very disingenuous.

Thanks for your reply. It feels a tad aggressive. Maybe you have me confused with another customer. I had no complaints when I entered. Words were minimum from your staff so there’s no way you’re referring to me about pointing out a sign upon entry ā€œwhen I complainedā€. I had no complaints at the time. I noticed the small hidden one on the register. No spices were requested nor received. I noticed the taste in food once I returned home so yep, no request for spices made in person. Hence, the review, after. Definitely won’t be returning after a response like this. Thank you for responding publicly! I will definitely be finding other Thai places to dine and...

Tonight, we had the worst experience. A woman and child came in and sat in a booth directly behind us. Almost everything she ordered, we overheard some type of complaint. "Too small of order", "I want this remade", "I ordered a double", "Now remake this other dish because it's now cold" etc. After numerous attempts of trying to please this woman, she asks for a to go box, to go sweet tea and the check. Once she receives the check, she then starts complaining about price and does not want to pay for it. The owner and waitresses were very patient and professional, in my opinion, attempting to please the unappeasable. Before walking out, she blurts out how bad of a review she was going to write online. I wanted to crawl under the rock along with the employees. I will not ever understand, nor do not care to, why an adult would act like this.

So, in return, I feel it is my duty to write the truth in the situation. We have been eating at Baan Thai for years. So long that the girls can remember our orders and always get everything perfect! For the most part (besides this one occurrence) it is a very pleasant, cute environment. We rarely have to wait and always get prompt service. The food is always made fresh to order and in very large portions. If you are a Thai food lover, this is your...
