After searching the internet for any place that kids eat free on a Saturday, all I could find was IHOP. I hadn’t been to an IHOP since I was a kid because I didn’t remember it being all that great. I’m now 32 now so it’s been awhile so I decided I’d give it another chance since money is so tight right now. I get there and there is literally nobody there other than one older gentleman sitting alone. The server Elisa comes to seat us and looked angry from the get go. No smile or friendly greeting as you’d expect. Seemed more annoyed to see us than anything. I ask about the kids eat free deal and I am told they no longer do the kids eat free. I was upset but decided to stay because my kids were starving and it was already after 6pm. Wish I didn’t. I ordered the smokehouse combo. It allegedly comes with sausages, but no. I was given a straight up hot dog sliced down the middle. I 1000% know the difference between how the two look and taste and this was without a doubt not a sausage, gross. My hash browns appeared fine at first but the bottom was so burnt I could barely cut a bite out with my fork. Ick. Eggs were a bit watery/rubbery, and pretty much cold. Yuck. I politely complained to the server and asked her to please take off a kids meal anyway since I couldn’t even eat most of my meal. She said she can’t. I asked for a manager, there was none there. I asked how to contact one, she said I don’t know, call I guess. I said how ridiculous it was for me to pay almost $50 for the meals when mine was nothing like expected. She took off a pop. She’d already been getting an attitude with me since I asked for money off the bill and I was so unhappy with the food and service and money is so tight so I only put a 1$ tip on my tab. (I’m normally a decent tipper bunt was not going to do more than that for what I received, but I also cold never not tip a server, so I gave her 1$. As soon as she saw the tip she was verge offended and am got even more snappy with me and basically told me she could give me the tip back because I obviously needed it more than her. I did no I don’t want it keep it and she kept arguing and rushed to the back to go get a $1 bill to give back to me. We got up to start leaving and she comes rushing over with the build snapping I’m”I guess you don’t want this then” I said no, I told you that, I’m not comforeablel leaving here and not giving you at least some tip, and I left in tears ( I cry when I get angry/ upset ) I can’t believe the amount of money I had to spend on such garbage food and service. I will definitely NEVER be going back to an IHOP again,...
Read moreI found the restaurant to be very clean and tidy, however I had difficulty in opening the front door. I realized it's winter but I am disabled and opening a door shouldn't be a customer's concern. I was just getting ready to leave when It gave way. The door opens up to their overflow seating, had they put a small heater in there the door may not of been a concern. I was greeted promptly by a very sweet young lady whose name escapes me. I was waiting for a friend who I thought was just running late. So while waiting I commented on how cold it was in the restaurant and asked if they were having furnace difficulties. I was told this is was the temperature decreed by the owner. I said if we weren't meeting for lunch I would have left! I ordered a cup of tea, perused the menu and was shocked at how expensive everything was; that didn't apply to pancakes which was the cheapest thing on the menu! My friend never showed, I was freezing and irritated. I ordered pancakes and 2 pieces of bacon for my daughter to go, she brought me the check and being the honest person I am I told her I had not paid for the tea. She re-rang the bill and my $3.99 pancakes cost almost as much as 1 tea packet. The tea alone was $3.19, no refills! Coffee was cheaper than one tea bag. I complained but it didn't do any good. I paid for my order left a tip and $10+ tax later I was trying to shove my way back out the door. I personally will not be going back there. There is no bang for your buck, it was freezing cold and I was glad my friend didn't show because I couldn't afford to eat the very expensive creeps that cost something like $10.99 for 2 crepes! I expect that items on the menu are very tasty but maybe they need to reevaluate their pricing. One more thing; the bacon cost $2.99 for 2 pieces and it was cold and stiff so it crumbled when she bit in to it! This leads me to believe the bacon was not freshly made, it was probably all cooked up earlier in the day and kept in a warming tray. I was just at Walmart today and got an entire package of bacon for $4.00! I came in at 3:00 and there were only 3 customers in the restaurant including me. These are just my personal thoughts on this visit but I...
Read moreThe food is always great, service I cannot say the same. My last visit was quite strange. I placed an online order and used my reward for 5 free pancakes. I waited about 15 minutes after arriving to the store & pressing the “I’m Here” option on the screen before going in to ask a question regarding the rewards (no expectation for the employees to know every detail of the system, just wanted to ask since we were already there.) I was hoping to use 2 separate rewards in 2 different orders/transactions, but got an alert letting me know I can only use one reward per day. My partner went inside to ask if it was a possibility to swap which reward I’d used (use the reward for a free burrito instead of the pancakes,) which we wouldn’t have been upset/challenged it if not, just curious. My partner walked to the counter and waited as the employees were closer to the back of house and chatting and laughing. They all looked and saw my partner, and even after him saying “hello” kindly and a small hand raise to get their attention, they kept on with their conversation. One woman turned and asked if he needed something, and he said yes. She looked very irritated, like he wasn’t waiting for almost 5 minutes to finish chit chatting on the clock. He asked her about the rewards, and she told him if she brought in the code for the reward she would be able to use it. He comes back out into the car with the pancake order, then went back inside with the rewards code. He then waited about 5-ish minutes for the same women to assist him, and were sighing exasperatedly at his attempt at kind small-talk. Overall, they did end up helping, but it made both of us feel we were inconveniencing the staff just by being a customer. Probably won’t be returning to...
